About

Over the years I have received instruction from Donna through piano lessons and participation in various choirs she has conducted. I am impressed with her knowledge, expertise, kindness, and patience. I am especially thankful for the way I have been instructed to sing so that I do not harm my voice....and in the piano instruction that includes education in the instrument - its history and how it works - and arm and hand technique when playing.

About

My son has been learning from Ms Laura for the past 5 months and just loves her. He is very excited to go to lessons and is motivated to practice given her incentive techniques. We are very pleased with our experience with Laura. She communicates well with the parents via email and understands children very well. Highly recommend Laura for beginning piano lessons!!

About

We found out about Karin's teaching talent through a co-worker of mine. When I spoke to Karin about our daughter we were extremely motivated by Karin's prior teaching history and educational achievements. One can certainly feel comfortable on these fronts, but one never knows whether their child will stay interested in learning to play an instrument. Karin has an inherent gift at instilling such interest. Our daughter has been taking lessons for over one year and not only has she stayed interested, she has gone so far as to compose her first piece! Many of us have taken music lessons as children, but it takes a unique person to inspire a child to go beyond the wrote music practice. Karin has this ability to 100% connect and our daughter is now passionate about learning the art of music. Our daughter was ready to move on from a basic keyboard six months ago and Karin also helped us distill down, from the overwhelming number of options, an appropriate next-step purchase. This journey has been extremely special for us. We highly recommend Karin to other parents as we have seen our daughter flourish.

About

I have been taking piano lessons with Jeffrey for the past year. Although I started taking lessons when I was young and have studied under other great teachers, Jeffrey stands out among them as exceptionally gifted. He is eternally patient and has a great sense of humor. I always look forward to seeing him. Besides his affability, the depth and breadth of his musical knowledge are hard to find, even among professionals. I would recommend him to anyone, regardless of age or proficiency.

About

I have taken both voice and piano lessons from Brigitte over the course of a couple of years. She is extremely dedicated, capable and knowledgeable both in music theory and practical performance. Brigitte arranges performance opportunities throughout the year in front of an audience, so there are ample opportunities to put what you've learned into practice on the stage. (She also teaches drumming, although I have not taken any drum lessons from her.) Brigitte works well across the age groups, from small children to adults. She does expect you to be focused and dedicated, however, so it is not a play time for younger children, but rather a chance to learn some real skills.

About

Amy is a terrific teacher. An outstanding, Curtis-trained musician herself, Amy brings the exacting precision of high level artistry to her pedagogy, but at the same time makes it fun. She is a perfectionist with regard to technique and focuses in with laser precision on flaws in bowing, finger position, wrist flexibility, posture and, of course, the myriad elements of musical interpretation. You really feel like you've gotten a thorough work out by the time it's over, yet she's always cherubic! She also makes it seem like a mutual, adventurous discovery, even though it's all got to be cello 101 for her--which I appreciate since I'm an older student. She happily shares her vast knowledge, spanning all periods of music from the medieval to the post-modern, and has thoughtful insights on musicology, currents in musical development, even theories of tuning. A talented pianist, Amy can accompany on the piano as well, which is a bonus. But when she accompanies you on the cello, she makes even a beginner sound like a pro. She also speaks excellent Italian! Perhaps the greatest compliment I can add after all this is that I bring my daughter for cello lessons with Amy as well. I recommend her to cellists at any level from beginner to pros just needing an intelligent set of ears.

About

We have been working with Ms. White since January 2016. My boys, ages 6 and 7 walked out of their very first lesson knowing “Mary Had A Little Lamb” and this quick, concrete “take away” gave them a sense of excitement and confidence! Ms. White is very thoughtful with her instruction. She has realistic and responsive goals--like helping accommodate a variety of sports seasons and understanding the difference between her student’s temperament and attention span. She has nurtured an intrinsic and age appropriate interest and exposure to the world of piano playing. My boys pick up and play piano on their own and they love teaching their father and me their new skills. I would highly recommend Ms. White for piano lessons.
