We chose Emo to work with my 11 year old daughter via Skype for voice lessons. She was really nervous to have her very first voice lesson over Skype, and with a stranger, but Emo quickly put her at ease. He’s patient, encouraging, positive, and also really uses the 30 minutes fully. He wasn’t the cheapest vocal coach to respond to my thumbtack but he really knows what he’s doing and maximizes the 30 minute lesson. My daughter is really happy with him as her teacher and so am I!

Sid gave guitar lessons to my daughter (14). He was recommended to us by a friend who has a 12 year old son that Sid taught. He is a great teacher and I can tell he is good at relating to kids of all ages. It is obvious, Sid has an appreciation and a passion for music and I would highly recommend him to anyone!

My children had music lessons with "Miss Lisa" for over ten years now, in both piano and voice. Now, she is even helping my young actress daughter with her audition monologues. She is a very gifted instructor, and is willing to step out of the box to encourage students and to develop their skills. Patient, kind, and thoughtful, she is nowhere near the "scary piano teacher" stereotype. We have followed her through several locations, and are excited for the new Encinitas Music Workshop. My daughter now has hour-long private voice lessons weekly, and still learns new things on a regular basic. At the new workshop space, there is also an opportunity for a break of pace with Guitar Hero, percussion learning, piano, and other musical pursuits.

I highly recommend US Music Lessons! My 14-year-old son has been with US Music Lessons for nearly a year as part of the Rock Band class. He is a drummer and has loved playing with other students in his band as they learn together the skills they need to be part of an actual rock band. They have played multiple times at local venues, including the Hard Rock Cafe, which has been an incredible experience for the kids. Although my son already was a drummer coming into US Music Lessons (Thanks to his grandfather), he has learned a great deal from the wonderful teachers that instruct the Rock Band. My son plays with kids every week who have been students of US Music Lessons learning various instruments, including voice lessons, and their experience has been positive. The kids coming out of US Music Lessons are all gifted and talented young musicians thanks to the wonderful teachers dedicated to their musical growth. The Rock Band class is an innovative, fun and inspiring way to teach music in that it develops a love and passion for performing and therefore a desire to improve on a daily basis. Playing with others that are like-minded and receiving the feedback in an actual performance class from the instructor has been an invaluable experience for my son.

Ken is an excellent teacher. He taught my son, JT, guitar lessons for about 3 years. Ken is very patient and motivational, which was very necessary as my son was quite young at the time, . He has an incredible way of connecting with his students.. Ken was able to make the lesson fun for my son and focused on the kind of music JT liked to play. I would recommend Ken to anyone wanting to learn how to play the guitar!

Brian was very patience and extremely helpful with setting us up with a piano teacher. We just finished our first lesson with our kids and Naomi is great! She seems very knowledgeable with piano. My kids were able to warm up to her quickly and that's not easy process. We will definitely be continuing our lessons!

Because each student learns a different way and I feel my calling as a teacher is to figure out that "way" , then provide the tools the student needs to reach his/her musical goals.

About

With over 35 years of drum instruction experience, hundreds of students from ages 6 to 50+ years with experience ranging from beginner to seasoned-pro. Mark has a proven tract record with lessons tailored to meet the students’ needs. Mark is patient, organized and results oriented. Mark’s style of teaching is relaxed and incorporates years of experience. His years of teaching have given him an understanding that people learn differently and no two students are exactly alike. What this means is that lessons are tailored to each student in order to meet them at their level of ability and comprehension. Students may lean towards being more Visual Learners, Auditory Learners, Kinesthetic Learners or a combination thereof which is what makes drumming a fantastic vehicle to increasing brain function. As is said, "Neurons that fire together, wire together." For example: Mark employs having a student read drum notation while singing and playing the rhythm on the drum set. Perhaps more importantly is Mark’s ability to tap into his student’s desire to play drums, keeping it fun while he helps them move towards mastery of the instrument.

About

I'm a private drum teacher specializing in children ages 7 and up. My program is a fool proof method of what I call "break down to build up" meaning that we strip the drum set down to just the snare drum and we learn each drum one at a time. So that we are not overwhelmed with the whole drum set all at once. I'm in the business of building strong self esteem, so let's get to drumming. If you cant come to my studio in vista then I will come to you especially if you have other children. If you don't have drums I will provide my own until you can afford your own.
