Jason was hired to do the videography for our wedding in February 2016. My husband and I are very pleased with Jason's service and work. The initial meeting with Jason was a pleasant experience because he was very nice in explaining what he does and answering all our questions. The day of our wedding Jason was at our venue before the bridal party had even arrived. He was organized and flexible which helped everything go smoothly and keep us calm and relaxed. By the way, he had a really cool camera! Shortly after the wedding we received our highlight video which was an awesome glimpse into our special day. Then he sent us all the footage he took that day. Jason did a beautiful job! He captured all the special planned moments of our wedding including the raw moments of everyone having a good time. We are so happy we chose him! We would recommend him to other brides and grooms :) thank you Jason!!!

I've worked with Palo on several photography and videography projects, but the highlight was the video he made for my sister's wedding. He was on time, professional, and gracious for the entire day, which was so helpful amid the stress of a wedding. Palo didn't miss a thing, and the footage from the wedding is perfect. From tiny details on the dress and rings, to gorgeous aerial shots of the venue, and sweet moments throughout the evening, the final video is the perfect recap of an awesome day. The video is set to music perfectly, with snippets of vows which were an unexpected and amazing surprise. Everyone in my family LOVES the video, especially the bride and groom. If you haven't considered videography for your wedding, do it--and book Palo. You will not be disappointed!

We hired Eric as the videographer for our wedding in Palm Springs. We had been on the fence about having a videographer but decided to do it only a few weeks before the wedding. The entire day was very smooth. Eric was very professional and worked very well with our photographer. I barely noticed him, the 2nd shooter, or the drone throughout the day. However, the video we got back was AMAZING! It was exactly what we asked for. It’s incredible how much footage he got without us knowing he was there. We can’t recommend him enough. We are so glad we decided to hire a videographer and so fortunate that we chose him.

Myron and his team were the videographers for our February 2018 wedding. They were really nice and easy going, which helped us in feeling not so nervous in front of the camera. Something that stood out to me was that Myron and his team provided raw footage in addition to our highlight video. Most videographers we interviewed would not do that or added an exorbitant fee for the raw footage. In addition to providing raws, Myron actually ended up editing not jus tone, but TWO versions of our highlight video for us because he wanted us to have one that was the traditional highlight video and another more documentary style. I really felt like he went above and beyond. And these files were all provided to us in an external hard drive. We had some issues with the hard drive at first (probably due to him using Apple and us using PC), but Myron made sure to fix things and that we could open up our files! He even sent us a dropbox link to the highlight video so we can watch it while he was working on the problem with the files opening. We really appreciated his diligence and really felt he and his team really captured the joy of our big day! I was so pleased to have the videos for keepsake and would highly recommend!

I really wanted someone to be able to capture the latin vibes at our wedding last month. We are extremely happy that we made the right choice of going with NewlyWed Cinema! They had experience with Mexican and Latin Weddings and saw that their work was perfect for what my husband and I wanted. Luis Angel was punctual and patient with all of wedding day craziness and our big family expectations. We love that he made an instant connection with my mom and dad by being able to speak Spanish with them. And now after seeing the finished masterpiece of our Wedding Day Film, we are thrilled to the moon and back by how he captured all of the emotions that were experienced on our big day. From my family to yours, do yourself a favor and hire Luis Angel and the Newlywed Cinema team!

Davis came in at the 11th hour and saved the day! I found out that my husband's mother would not be able to attend our wedding, so we hired Davis 2 weeks before the wedding. He was professional and very accommodating, and I am recommending him to any and all bride and grooms. I would like to get married again, just to have the special moments captured by Davis and his crew at IV I II Studios.

We cannot sing Joseph's praises enough. He was easy to communicate with, 100% responsive, a total professional with exceptional work quality. He was with us all day during our wedding and got amazing images. But he was never obtrusive or in the way of the event. His prices were more than reasonable and we feel so grateful that Joseph was part of our special day. Thank you a thousand times over!!!

I had Chelsae photograph my wedding in Sept. Weddings can be so stressful but Chelsae made me feel so comfortable and at ease, the photos are beautiful. Chelsae got them back to me in a timely manner, our family is so impressed with the quality and professionalism Chelsae produces. We also used her photo booth company Split Second Photo Booth for our wedding that Chelsae and her husband own. It was so great and easy to get these 2 things taken care of for our wedding in one step. I highly recommend both of these businesses.

Alex (Simplicity Photography) takes amazing photos. What really stood out to me it that all the photos I've seen have such a creative twist! I had the privilage to have some photoshoots done for my freshman and just one for fun. I was so pleased with both. The photos always have perfect lighting, never blurry, and like I said earlier always creative! I would highly recommend Simplicity Photography to anyone.

As a media professional firm, Ascend Media Productions highly recommends Since 1987 Films for wedding videography. Andrew and Anthony have top-notch skills as camera operators and video editors, but it's their passion and commitment to excellence that sets their work apart from the rest. A quick read of their reviews tells that story, and it's plain to see why so many brides and grooms consider this team to be a part of their family. Ascend Media Productions is proud to partner with Since 1987 Films for their drone imagery needs.

    About

Hello, my name is Antonio and I'm a Commercial Wedding Photographer. Ive been shooting for over 7 years. When I shoot for my clients, they will be surprised when I show them their images that I've also designed an album for them, along with two videos all without them having to ask. I take the extra time to do this for my clients because I firmly believe that having a physical tangible item in their hands will have them enjoy their photos many times over having files sitting in a hard drive for years or getting yearly reminders from Facebook. I want my clients to wake up every morning and pass by their photos, that if they're having a hard day, when they get home they are surrounded with photos of their loved ones that uplifts their mood and promotes positivity by having them surrounded with photos of loved ones enjoying genuine moments together. That is my main goal for you, photography and videography is my tool to get you there. I can't wait to speak to you! When I surprise you with an album design as well as videos and you begin to feel an overwhelming feeling of joy that you begin to hug your loved ones as you relive that day of our shoot and tears roll down as an genuine appreciation for each and every member of your family blooms beyond its limits. That is what I enjoy about what I do.

    Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

What is a videographer and what do they do?

A videographer professionally films weddings and other events and edits the footage to create film keepsakes or marketing materials for their clients. Wedding videographers record all the key elements of your wedding day, ceremony and reception, and then edit the hours of film during post-production to make a wedding video, social media highlight reels, and any other film features you choose. Wedding videography captures, in live action, your vows, the cake-cutting, the first dance, reception toasts, the decor, the guests and all the details of your day. Many wedding videographers also interview guests (based on an interview list provided by the couple) and incorporate the recorded responses into the wedding video. Event videography typically costs less than wedding videography, as events are shorter with less detail. The national average cost for event videography is $500-$760, while the national average cost for wedding videography is $990-$1,260. A videographer usually does not need to be licensed, but it is important to confirm they have insurance and good standing in the business community, as well as good client reviews. A great majority of the work happens during post-production. The pros watch and blend together the hours of footage they took (sometimes from multiple cameras) to capture the story of your wedding day or event.

How do you choose a wedding videographer?

A wedding videographer will create a lifetime memory for you from edited video footage of your wedding day, ceremony and reception. Choosing a wedding videographer starts with looking online at portfolios of their past work. There’s no need to talk to anyone unless you love what you see. Next, make sure they have good reviews and past client experience; don’t be shy about asking for references if there aren’t any posted online. When you find someone who has a style you love, ask if they are available on your wedding day. If so, it’s time to talk pricing. Be clear about your maximum budget, and ask what kind of packages they offer. Pricing will depend on the number of crew needed for filming, the hours they are required to be onsite, post-production editing, and the length of the final product. Talk with several wedding videographers to get a feel for what prices are like in your region. Nationally, the average cost for wedding videography ranges between $990 and $1,260 per event. Once you agree on a product and have a plan, get everything in a written and signed contract. Clearly state the details of what is expected for your wedding day and from the final product. Be prepared to pay a deposit to reserve their services for the day, then pay the remainder upon receiving the video.

What should you ask your wedding videographer before hiring?

Finding the perfect wedding videographer doesn’t have to be stressful. Asking a few key questions upfront will help you find the right fit for your big day. Before talking with wedding videographers, research their work online. Look at their websites, business profiles and social media, and see what their finished wedding videos look like. If the style fits what you’re envisioning, it’s time to reach out. During initial contact, make sure you get along with the person. This is important since they’ll be interacting with you and your guests.

Your first question should be about their availability; there’s no point in going further if they’re booked on your wedding day. Ask to see references if they’re not readily available online. Next, it’s time to talk about money. Ask how they determine rates or what kind of packages they offer. When you settle on a rate and the services you want, make sure to have a written contract that outlines everything, including cost, length of time they film, what post-production will include, and when you can expect to receive the edited project.

How much is videography for a wedding?

Wedding videography is one thing many couples regret not paying for. It may seem like just another expense during wedding planning, but it’s really special to have a moving memory of your big day. The national average cost for wedding videography is $990-$1,260. Pricing can vary depending on wedding length, special film features, the amount of editing required, and how many videographers are needed to cover the event. Many videographers offer packages that provide different levels of service. A very simple wedding documentary could be $600 or more, while a full-scale cinematic experience involving multiple videographers could be $2,500 or more. Here’s an example of average package pricing:

    • Package 1: $1,400
      • Footage during and after the ceremony, including highlights requested by the couple.
      • Two cameras with audio equipment.
      • DVD including a 3- or 4-minute edit to a song of the couple’s choice and a 45- to 50-minute raw edit covering the entire event.
      • Recordings of guests’ good wishes to the couple.
    • Package 2: $1,800
      • Includes everything from Package 1, plus an additional videographer (2 total) and aerial videography.

When do you pay your wedding videographer and wedding photographer?

Most wedding videographers and photographers require a set deposit when you hire them. Wedding season is a busy time and a deposit secures that vendor’s services for your wedding date. It also protects the vendor if the couple changes their mind at the last minute, and they can’t find a new booking and lose work for the day. The deposit may be anywhere from 20 percent to  50 percent of the agreed-upon total price. Always get a written confirmation that your deposit has been received.

The remainder of the wedding videography and photography bill may be due in the week before to your wedding or on the day of the wedding. Other vendors may require a second payment immediately before the wedding and a third and final payment after the wedding video or photos are delivered. Each vendor has their own policies, so before hiring be sure to read, understand and agree to payment protocols. There is no requirement for tipping wedding videographers or photographers, but if you do want to tip them, the end of the reception is the appropriate time.

Hire skilled professionals for absolutely everything.
