Tom is an excellent handyman. He is professional, gets the job done, and is flexible with client schedules. With his extensive contractor experience, I recommend Tom without reservations.
I hired Jose to demo the complete interior of a dilapidated rental house to get ready for renovation. He was punctual and a great communicator throughout the entire process. I am very busy with work but Jose made the process very convenient by sending me pictures as they went to keep me updated on the job. I would recommend Jose and am planning on hiring him for the drywall and framing as well.
Brandon met me at Lowes at 8:30am to pick up supplies. We got to my house around 09:15. He fixed a broken kitchen cabinet. He painted my bathroom including the trim around the window. He hung a Venetian blind in my 2nd bdrm. He replaced my old toilet with a new and improved version. All four of these tasks were part of the estimate. Brandon also unclogged my bathroom sink-not part of the estimate- he just did it. Brandon was finished around 3:45pm. He knew all the tricks that help a contractor save time, but still get the job done correctly. I am extremely happy with the results and definitely will be using Brandon for future jobs. Thanks Brandon! Mark Gonzales
Mario is highly skilled at what he does, and he's very affordable and also well resourced and networked. Plus, he comes with a great number of ideas to help you think through what you really want with a project. I appreciated that. In addition to painting, he can help you with yardwork, landscaping and small construction projects. We hired him to paint the entire exterior of the house and also hired him for clearing out our entire front yard. We are also considering him for a job that involves a wood covering in the back. I will say that, without a doubt, we are extremely impressed with the look of the yard and the house. See the before and after photos. Other contractors have even complemented his work! He was also very accommodating when were trying to choose the colors, bringing color samples and a block of color slides to help us decide. I only saw two issues with Mario: my Spanish is terrible and his English is not very proficient, so we had some communications issues. Also, he was behind schedule on the painting job and wasn't forthcoming in explaining his exact needs or a precise timeline to finish the job on time. In the end, the house looks amazing, though. Great improvement. So, despite the difficulties, I would still go back in time to hire him.
Great contractor. Professional, quick, and fair pricing. Would recommend to anyone looking to remodel in a tight budget
If you are looking for a honest, organized, knowledgeable, professional, hard working and timely general contractor then Matthew is your guy. In our new purchased home we had two old bathrooms that we wanted to remodel, plus the full house re-painting. We got a few quotes similar with Matthews but what really sold us was that he just struck us to be a really honest guy...which turned out to be very true. He listened to what we wanted but also used his design expertise to guide us toward a practical and beautiful remodel that we are very happy with. Since we were not home while the majority of the work, Matthew was always available to update us or answer my husband many questions. He also gave us lots of advice on other projects outside of his job scope that really saved us time and money. Simply put Matthew does what he says and comes in on budget. Our scope of work was to basically remodeled both bathrooms, extension to master bath new flooring, plumbing upgrade, new bathtub and custom shower pan, custom tile work for entire bathrooms, electrical upgrade, framing and building new wall, drywall and complete painting for all the house. Overall it was a very pleasant experience working with Matthew and we ended up with two beautiful new bathrooms and a fresh house!
We had Coggins Construction install crown molding in our home. Patrick was very professional throughout the entire process and satisfactorily completed the project under the initial price quote, which was already extemely reasonable. He actually listened to what we wanted and was respectful of our house-things that previous contractors neglected. We would recommend Patrick's services to anyone.
It was a pleasure having Fernando, The Builder Handyman, do work for us. He replaced a posi-temp cartridge in a shower/bath, replaced a faucet and drain in a laundry room tub, repaired a soft-close kitchen drawer and anchored a toilet tank to the commode. His price was very reasonable and he arrived exactly when he said he would; he is very easy to communicate with. We would definitely hire him again.
After stripping off plaster and lath from my hallway for a remodel, my electrian noticed a broken roof beam in the attic crawl space with a "makeshift" brace complete with a tire jack for support holding up the beam. My house was built in 1926. I also noticed a bit of bowing in another beam that needed some bracing. I knew the broken beam needed to be replaced and the bowing needed some bracing. I had 4 contractors come in to check it out and none of them seemed too enthused to tackle the job, nor did they even seem to know how to go about it without extensive damage to the outside structure except for Solomon Ka'ne of SK Fine Homes and Construction whom I found on Thumbtack. The contractors wanted to either go thourgh the roof or break open the upper wall. They were wishy washy in their approach while scratching their brow for solutions. Solomon said he could do the job by working through the existing opening in the hallway and could complete the job through the crawl space. By doing the job this way, his bid was less than half of the others. I liked his enthusiasm and positive approach to the issue so I hired him. His professionalism and end product was every bit worth the price I paid him. He was on time with his assistant Joe, had all of the materials he needed and did the job in 5 1/2 hours. I highly recommend Solomon Ka'ne and will certainly give him future referrals. Thanks Solomon for a job well done.
Hired Tom for my TI job in Carlsbad. He was straight forward with the whole process and finished on time and under budget, two things that were very important for me. Had a great crew of sub contractors as well. Thanks Tom.
Pedro is not only a great guy but an awesome worker. He shows up when he says he will and stays until he finishes the job. He works well around other contractors and is able to complete a variety of tasks.
I hired Cheryl through Thumbtack in Feb 2015 to fully renovate a 1700sqft home in what we thought would be a quick two months. First and foremost, she's a fantastic designer - she understands color, is particular about details, and can visualize what a space should feel like. Different times of the day, different seasons of the year ... she thought through it all and got the right combination of lighting, windows, and heating/cooling to get it right. In ADDITION to that designer's touch, Cheryl is a tiger of a General Contractor. I really can't overstate how much energy and passion she put into the project getting bids from subcontractors, managing and directing her own crew, and fighting to keep everything on schedule. I felt entirely comfortable letting her pick fixtures and finishes, which lessened the load on my shoulders. And, from an owner's perspective, the way she documented every dollar spent and provided reports and accounting was beyond anything I've seen anyone else do. It's amazing. In the end, the project did NOT go as expected. After opening walls, we discovered extensive termite damage (which meant some new exterior walls), antiquated electrical, and sub-standard plumbing work. Most other contractors would have walked off the job or taken advantage of the situation. Most other contractors would have taken an additional four months to finish. Cheryl didn't - she poured her whole self into the challenge and worked tirelessly to get the project done. The end product is fabulous and it took only one month longer than originally anticipated. Perhaps most importantly, Cheryl's integrity, "whatever it takes" attitude, and her extremely high Say/Do ratio is a testament to her character. She's the type of person I like to work with, and I'd be delighted to share any details of my experience with anyone who's considering her services.
Great service! Fast, efficient, and friendly service. Front door replacement and drywall repair at a good price.
GW Construction helped me with a remodel. The job consisted of uprighting a 12 ft. support beam and approximately 25 drywall panels. The price was a lot less than other contractors that bid on the job and they completed the job in one week. Matt and Jody communicated with me on a daily basis asking how the job was going. They were absolutely dedicated to my satisfaction. The contractors that worked on the project were professional and made me laugh all day long. They even let me know when they saw a better idea for my remodel or saw something that we needed to tweak to make it look better. No fuss, no hassle, no problems. Matt gives you his price and sticks to it, even if something comes up and a little more work needs to be done. Overall a great experience and a job well done!
Nationwide Secure did the tile flooring and sink installation for my bathroom. By far, they have been the most responsive and professional company out of all contractors I have hired. From time of thumbtack post to job completion was one week, and throughout, Nationwide Secure was straightforward and an overall pleasure to work with. I could not be happier with my finished bathroom. My initial bathroom setup was a bit awkward, but Robert did some creative work with the tiles to make the finished product look good. During the work, there was also some dry rot on the walls that he removed free of charge, just to do a thorough and complete job. The end product was stunning. Thanks Robert!
We hired Nick Sinyuk as our contractor for a complete kitchen remodel. We chose Nick based on his high Thumbtack ratings, as well as both his (low) estimates for cost and time completion of 2 weeks. While the job took him 4 weeks rather than 2, he worked very hard to build a beautiful kitchen that has received glowing reviews all-around. He cut no corners, used quality materials, and sought our input on every decision and detail. He rebuilt our kitchen from scratch -- this included: installation of a new wood floor that is immaculate, built a dreamy custom island, refinished our ceiling, and built an entire kitchen cabinet and counter area that maximized our space and storage. Our kitchen is a dream -- it is truly a chef's designer kitchen. We would hire Nick again based on his skilled craftsmanship, pricing, and timely work.
We had a complete bath overhaul, including removing walls, done by Jaber and his team. From the start he was engaged in our home and treated us better than just being his next customer. We got some ideas from contractors, Jaber came in with ways to make it better that other contractors couldn't offer us when getting bids. At times it felt he was more excited about our house than we were. All of our concerns were taken care of and our expectations surpassed throughout the job. Jaber absolutely get our strongest possible recommendation for your next project.
My husband and I recently purchased a three bedroom home in a great neighborhood, but it needed some small renovations done to create a fourth bedroom for our newborn. I contacted eleven (yes, eleven) different architects on Yelp. Only four actually responded to my messages, and most said they would either charge just to come out to Santee to simply look at our home ($150-$200 for their time alone), or they were booked out months in advance, or they didn't service the East County (I'm guessing these guys prefer more upscale jobs in Del Mar and Coronado). A few provided ballpark quotes but they clearly didn’t want our business. Our dilemma was that we couldn't move into this house we had already closed on until the renovations were done, so we needed someone ASAP to create a design for our project so we could THEN get a permit for the work so we could THEN have the work done by a contractor. Since Yelp failed me, I submitted the form to find an architect on Thumbtack, and Ken from One World Architecture called me immediately. It was a Saturday morning, no less, and Ken was incredibly warm, understanding, and made our small project out in the boonies of Santee sound like a priority. He came out right away, took his time understanding exactly what we wanted done, and got to work quickly to create a design that we loved. Ken even connected us with a local contractor, who primarily works on referrals, since we had no idea where to start (incidentally, this contractor has been just as amazing as Ken and also very easy to work with). Throughout the process, Ken and his team were transparent, kept in constant communication with us and the contractor, and even dealt with a horrendous permit process with the city on our behalf. As a bonus, One World Architecture’s charges for their services were far below the other architects that had provided ball-park quotes. We are so grateful for Ken and his team. Our home is nearly finished and it looks phenomenal: the addition looks original to the home. Although this whole renovation process was a lot more complicated than we anticipated – nothing like HGTV makes it seem – we are so thankful for Ken and team at One World Architecture and would recommend them in a heartbeat to anyone considering a renovation.
It was nice to have a responsible contractor that holds to his word and takes pride in his work and gives you ideas that are better then what you wanted with no extra charges and it would last longer for my home . He is very comparable if not less on his pricing and the work is very high end work he is much faster then a well known contractor that nickels and dimes you to death and milks the job for more money then you wanted to spend and makes up things that should be replaced or done and it’s not even necessary for what we are wanting to get done and the best part is they’ve actually clean up after they leave and during a remodel and cares enough to cover up furniture or valuables while working in your home or outside of the home . I would recommend the FIX to my friends or to anyone who wants what they pay for and more thank you to Roy Hogate and the Fix for a fabulous job they did for my new kitchen and room addition and patio I appreciate you and your company for a beautiful job done in my home ... don’t hesitate just do it he is well worth it Thanks again please call I have another project for you and my neighbor needs a gazebo next to his pool done .
All traits describe Gordon Keiser's work. Over several years we have used him on projects as big as adding a 500 sq.ft. first floor master bedroom and bath to changing kitchen lighting from florescent to LED as well as occasional "handyman" jobs. We can highly recommend him for any project, be it big or small. He not only works well with the homeowners' ideas, but also willingly offers suggestions that might improve the project and is very cooperative in completing the project as ultimately agreed upon.
Mr. Finley remodeled my bathroom. It was done on time & there were no cost overruns. What I was mostly impressed with was there attention to detail. While most contractors leave a mess after each day of work Mr. Finley's crew cleaned up each day they worked. As a business owner I value the professionalism of work Mr. Finley and his crew showed. I would hire Mr.Finley again if I had anymore remodel work to be done.
