Sunwest Company was a great decision and I am very very happy with the service they provided! Honestly They were very respectful hardworkers and detail orientated. When i critiqued their work they were happy to fix what I found. The did a move out cleaning, carpet cleaning, and tile/grout. They also fixed a patch on the carpet which was a bit pricey but better than before. The only thing I noticed i wasn't happy and wish I noticed while they were the patch they did upstairs really wasn't nice but the one that everyone saw was good! The house was filthy when they started from our previous tenant in the house. Now it is definitely ready to be sold. very big difference! I will definitely keep them in mind if I need something else done :) possibly for the house we will God willing buy. They are very good and don't waste time. Also don't charge by the hour which is the best part!

Pre-treated all the rooms, put pet stain and odor chemical down (removed all smells) then cleaned my carpets to NEW AGAIN. CHRIS was very professional and on time. There was no 4hr window which I really liked. Will be using BLACK AND WHITE carpet cleaners again and again. I found my new carpet cleaner.. I tried ZEROREZ they left my carpet s stiff and still not very clean. Chris got everything out of my carpets.

I’ve had a few carpet cleaners in the past, but none compare to the quality of service we received from Oxi Fresh. Pete and his crew did a magnificent job and most importantly, the carpet is cleaner than it has been in 15 years. Needless to say, we will be using Oxi Fresh again and again!

You can see the clean mark near the tile and where they haven't cleaned yet in the pic below. We hired Xtreme Carpet to clean the carpets in our home. They did three bedrooms upstairs and also the downstairs. The guy was very professional and also very informative. He came and measured it out, told me how much it was going to be, and we left for the day. When we got home from work, it was done and it looked great. He did an excellent job. The price was pretty fair for the square footage that was cleaned. We would use Xtreme Carpet Care again and we also recommend them to other people.

I needed a cleaner for the 3 bedroom house we just purchased in San Jacinto. Marlon came over to the house and gave me a great quote and we set up a time for he and his helper to come out and do the job. First of all, they have a great attitude and are very professional. These are energetic young people who work hard for a living. The job itself took 4 1/2 hours and he and his helper deep cleaned everything including scrubbing part of the carpet which was not part of the job. They even cleaned/dusted the dozens of plates hanging on the wall! My husband and I are very happy with the results and plan to use this service again! Thanks Thumbtack for referring this company to us! Tim and Terry Darmody

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How often should carpets be steam cleaned?

Dirty carpets can be unhealthy for the people living in the home, particularly those who have allergies, so it’s important to have them cleaned regularly; simply vacuuming once or twice a week isn’t enough. Carpet cleaning should be done by a professional carpet cleaning service at least once a year to remove grime and help extend the life of your carpet. Most carpet manufacturers recommend professional steam cleaning, which penetrates deep into the carpet fibers and lifts out both dirt and the pollutants that get tracked inside. Steam cleaning also removes most of the moisture, so carpets dry quickly enough for homeowners to resume using them the same day. Between professional carpet cleanings, your carpet may need an emergency spot cleaning. Pet accidents, food or drink spills, and more can often be effectively cleaned with some water and a drop of white vinegar, although many cleaners will also make house calls for smaller spills and hard-to-clean spots like wine or grease stains.

Who cleans area rugs?

Like your carpets, area rugs should ideally be cleaned at least once a year to remove dust and dirt and help them last longer. In general, carpet cleaning professionals also clean area rugs. Some rug cleaners bring their cleaning equipment to your home, while others remove your area rugs and clean them at their facilities. Either way, the rug should be cleaned with the solution most appropriate to its specific fabric and construction. It should also be completely dry before you return it to the floor.

How much is the cheapest carpet?

If you’re looking to reduce carpet installation costs, there are several ways to save. Start by considering your carpeting needs. Manufactured materials such as polyester and nylon will be cheaper than natural fibers such as wool. From big box retailers, starting prices for olefin-based carpet are approximately 50 cents per square foot — making the cost under $5 per square yard. Indoor carpets made with olefin fibers are typically the least expensive on the market. Keep in mind that olefin fibers are not as soft on bare feet as other fibers, so are often used in areas like basements, playrooms or indoor patios. Nylon and polyester are good options to reduce carpet installation costs while still creating a cozy feel. The face weight, fiber construction and density of a carpet all affect the cost per square foot. The cheapest nylon or polyester carpets can start at just under $2 per square foot, making them about $18 per square yard. Lower-cost carpet tends to wear out more quickly and show stains more easily, so avoid light colors and vacuum regularly to keep the fibers clear of dirt that might age it too quickly.

How much does it cost to install carpet?

If you’re ready to bring new life into your house with a makeover from the ground up, you’re ready to learn more about carpet installation costs. Installation costs vary greatly, depending on a number of factors such as the type of carpet, the number of square yards, any necessary repair work, the number of stairs you have, and where you live. Due to these variables, the national average cost of carpet installation ranges between $200 and $4,500.

To start planning for your new carpet, measure roughly how many square yards of carpet you’ll need. Research the main carpet styles and materials you like to get a feel for what they cost. Nylon carpets are typically the least expensive, and wool is one of the higher-end carpets. Prices per square foot might range from under $2 to over $10, depending on materials. Count the number of stairs you want carpeted; each one might average between $3 and $10 (or more for box steps). Carpet removal can be an added cost as well, averaging $1-$4 per square yard, depending on the company and regional disposal costs.

How much does it cost to clean a rug?

Area rugs are typically found in high-traffic areas of the home, like hallways and entryways, so they collect more dirt and stains than simple vacuuming can handle. Similar to carpet cleaning, professionals can come to your home to deep-clean your area rugs. The national average cost for rug cleaning ranges from $80 to $120, but may be higher or lower depending on the rug’s size and fiber type. Rug cleaners generally charge by the square foot; for example, a standard 8-foot by 10-foot rug costs an average of $100 to clean. Natural fiber rugs, such as wool or silk, are usually more expensive to have cleaned than synthetic rugs. A carpeting cleaning company may charge on average $1.50 per square foot to clean a synthetic rug, $2 per square foot for a wool rug, and $3 per square foot for a silk rug. Some delicate rugs need to be washed by hand, which increases the price. Carpet cleaning companies often offer additional services, such as removing odors or applying moth deterrent, which can add 20 cents to 25 cents per square foot.
