I have been a student with Kimberly for ten years. I have been taking blues guitar lessons from her weekly. Kim is extremely professional. She tailors her teaching to the students interest and playing style. She is very patient and often goes the extra mile to help students progress. I have been a dedicated student because of this. I have had the pleasure of playing guitar with some of her other students in ensemble classes who all give her praise for the way she conducts business and teaches her classes. I highly recommend Kimberly Allison of Starliner music to anyone wishing to develop their skills in music.

I wanted to start drum lessons in the area and didn't know where to start. A friend mentioned and recommended Stefano. He's a great teacher and definitely knows his stuff. His experience has allowed me to go at my own pace while integrating theory he's taught me and implementing them in my drum playing.

Prior to taking drum lessons with John, I had taken about 7 long gruesome years of piano lessons. My interest in music was at an all time low and I was looking for a new experience with drums. Luckily, for me, I was able to find John James, possibly the best person for the job. Right from the start, John was a positive and patient teacher. He came into every lesson with enthusiasm and encouragement and helped me to feel comfortable. His 19+ years of experience with drums and a major in percussion assured me that he knew what he was doing. John really makes an effort to make sure that all of his students know the absolute basics of drumming such as counting, reading, and technique, which will all greatly benefit you later on. His undying patience astounds me to this day and I greatly appreciate how he never yells at his students. I often have to ask for constructive criticism because he is always so positive and encouraging. However, just because he is patient does not mean that he will slow you down. He is always aware of his student's skill level and capabilities and works to constantly challenge you to a point. As a result, the rate of progression with him is pretty high. I have been taking lessons with John for about 6 months now. Although I was bad with rhythm at first (due to the piano), he helped me to progress at a very high pace. In about a month or two, I was already practicing on the drums and reading notes at a proficient level. As a college student, I naturally do not have too much time to invest in drumming but amazingly, with John's help, I am able to consistently advance further and further every week. If I hadn't met John, I would have given up drumming by now. With every lesson, John makes me feel more and more confident that someday I will become a BEAST at the drums.

Nolan has training and experience in several areas of music, but I'm glad that he has a passion for teaching. He understands that people take lessons for different reasons and have individual ambitions. I have found that Nolan’s priority is to identify these goals; to see that his students progress and have fun while they are learning. He gives my daughter constant, constructive feedback during her drum lessons, and works to teach and challenge her. He is always patient and positive, and wants to know that he is helping her achieve her goals. Nolan is professional and reliable, and my daughter is fortunate to be one of his students!

Cliff makes learning so much fun! He breaks it down so it really seems easy. I love his motto - he doesn't call it practicing he calls it playing. Also he is the only teacher I know of that plays along with you - he plays different riffs while you are learning the chords etc., so it makes it feels like you are having a jam session while you are learning! I highly recommend taking lessons with Cliff.

My son started formal drum lessons with Steve two and a half years ago. Steve set the bar on professionalism, flexibility, communication, and has the patience to teach music to younger kids. My son went from a kid banging on a toy drum, to a musician that could play drum set rhythms in an elementary school jazz band. We've had other instructors since Steve left the Los Alamitos area but none of them compared to his high level of attributes listed earlier.

Eugene’s Music Studio is one of the most professional & kind music studios we had the honor to work with. My son is so excited and cannot wait for his piano lessons. The teacher was able to keep him busy and involved throughout the entire session (not an easy task) and she always comes up with new ways for him to stay involved. We are very happy that we found Eugene's Music Studio. Eugene was very attuned and helped us find the best fit for our child and we look forward to seeing the progress he will make with time.

My daughter Shavanie has been with at SoundCheck for about two months. First off I must say Dan & Electra are very friendly and down to earth people. My daughter does Vocal & Piano lessons with Electra, she is one of the best music coach my daughter has worked with so far...... I am amazed by her progress. She also does Guitar lessons with Josh, who is also amazing...she is finally enjoying her guitar :) Since my daughter has been with SoundCheck she has shown more excitement towards music vocally and instrumentally. I can't thank them enough! :-) I truly recommend SoundCheck, you will not regret it.

My son began taking drum lessons with Lindsay via skype at 6 years old. He will be 9 next month and is still loving his drum lessons. He has learned so much in such a short period of time. Not only is Lindsay clearly a skilled drummer but is also an apt teacher. She is patient while pushing my son to improve his skills. I know from personal experience that learning an instrument can be frustrating to the point that the student will want to give up. This is especially true for a kid. Lindsay understands this and has the ability to balance progress with patience. I highly recommend Lindsay as a drum teacher!

Jeffery is the best. I always had so much fun during my lessons with him and would highly recommend him to anyone looking to learn the drums. He’ll tailor the lesson and his teaching method for whatever works best for the student. He’s knowledgeable, patient, and one of the funniest people I’ve ever met. 5 stars all the way.

We met in Paris, France and started playing together. After a short period of time, I was stuck with my rythmic fingerstyle guitar playing and I asked Tarah if she could teach me drums to improve my timing and teach me different types of drumming. I had a blast! She's really good at explaining and showing intricate patterns and she made it simple to understand for me. I love how patient and careful she is for her student, and that she took the time to change a bit her teaching to fit with my guitar player background. A warm warm recommendation!!

Being a seasoned drum student at the Musicians Institute in Hollywood CA, I know what it takes to truly play your best. Having learned from some of the best and most respected players in drums, I have been able to hone my drumming ability into something very special. I am well versed in many different drumming styles and can help a student reach their percussive goals. Videos will be up soon!

Along side the general teaching of your instrument, Music Theory will be introduced as well. It's one thing to know your notes and play them incredibly, but a whole other world opens up when you understand how it works.

I act on a one to one basis. Treating each person as an individual with specific needs and abilities. So wether its drum kit lessons where i work on your favorite styles of music. To the deeper drum workshops geared to help people at different stages in life. Then deeper still with the gong and tuning fork work. Which is specific for each person as we all vibrate in a different way.

I'm a music teacher with more than 20 years of experience in teaching strings, woodwinds, brass, percussion, voice, and piano in public and private schools for ages four through adult. My work experience includes the University of Southern California (USC) and Los Angeles City College. My education includes Master of Music in Music Education (USC), Bachelor of Music in Music Education (USC), and Bachelor of Arts in Humanities (USC). I studied piano with Dr. Lucinda Carver and voice with Janice McVeigh. I'm currently studying double bass with Dr. David Young. I'm committed to the honorable tradition of passing down to others what my teachers have taught me.

I can teach you how to be a rock and roll star. Whether you want to learn classical, jazz, pop, country, or blues on the piano, I'm the instructor for you. I can also teach you how to play rock drums behind a band, and show you how to deliver exactly what they want. If you are a vocalist, and you are looking to accompany yourself behind the keys, I specialize in that type of performance. I've been playing piano professionally for 10 years, and have a wealth of knowledge I would be happy to share. Before that, I was a touring drummer for 2 years. I'm pretty easygoing, and understand it can be a bit intimidating seeking help. I like to think that we are all students though, and some of us have just been working at it longer than others. If you are interested in reading music or learning by ear, I can show you how to do both. If there is an artist you admire, and you want to play like them, I'll sit with you and hammer out the details. Also, if you are a songwriter, and need help with a melody or chords to back up your melody, I can do that as well. I am quite patient. If you are a beginner, and just feel the urge to get started with an instrument, I'll do the walk with you and hold your hand through the process. Music has brought me a lot of enjoyment through my life and sharing this gift with others is how I repay those who gave this gift to me.
