I always wanted to take singing lessons but never had the opportunity and courage. Mindy made everything easy. She is patient, competent and always greeting you with a smile. That's why I decided to take piano lessons as well ;)
I've been taking guitar and singing lessons with David for a few months, and I've got to say I've had a really great time learning from him! David is an incredibly friendly and knowledgeable teacher who clearly cares about his students and their goals, and better still has played and performed with the artists that I like best. It took me a while to find a teacher who was willing to teach me the music I wanted to play instead of starting with their core competence, so it was really refreshing that within a month or two with plenty of practice I was able to learn one of my favorite songs (Three Rounds and a Sound by Blind Pilot, if you're curious), and a little longer to start singing it, which I was really stoked about. He has been great about breaking things down when the piece we're working on is too challenging. David has also pushed me to pursue my goal of creating music, helping along the way to create melodies and lyrics. I have to say, it takes a great teacher to get me to sing and to share lyrics with them (do you know how embarrassing that can be?). I could go on, but suffice it to say, David is a great teacher, and I'm really glad I started taking lessons with him.
I had my first lesson today. Juan is very well prepared and professional. I got a lot of hw to do. Can't wait to have my second lesson!
Learning from Ann was, simply put: GREAT. I felt like I finally found a vocal teacher who knew how to help me improve and then go on to teach me more as a singer. I had tried 3 other vocal teachers in my life, and 2 others in my current city. Upon finding Ann, I felt like I found someone who was serious, and someone who had serious knowledge about singing. She taught me proper technique and really helped me to improve where my singing faltered. She was always prepared and ready to teach me as soon as I arrived. When I found out she was leaving, I was upset and "bummed out", for lack of a better word. She is a great instructor and teacher, and I would absolutely take more lessons with her!
Over the years I have received instruction from Donna through piano lessons and participation in various choirs she has conducted. I am impressed with her knowledge, expertise, kindness, and patience. I am especially thankful for the way I have been instructed to sing so that I do not harm my voice....and in the piano instruction that includes education in the instrument - its history and how it works - and arm and hand technique when playing.
I can't say enough about my experience with Ken. He is very intuitive. His lessons are balence between exercises and therory. I have alway found myself mentally stimulated, with plenty of work for my fingers. He is very energetic and reaches out between lessons to give you more music to play with. His warm and friendly personality make the lessons fly by. He also willing to work through tought topics without cutting the lesson short (schedule permitting ). I really appreciate his effort into his students. He has also been pretty flexible with my shedule. As an adult these are not the piano lessons I hated as a child. Lol
I have really enjoyed working with Liz this past year. The techniques that she teaches not only elevate your singing skills, but also improve overall vocal quality and performance. Liz is great about addressing all aspects of the vocal experience, and still making it fun to learn and improve!
Our 13 year old daughter has absolutely loved her singing lessons with Liz over the past year! Liz is consistently bright and positive while advancing our daughter's singing abilities on many levels. We also enjoyed seeing Liz perform in a bilingual musical play for children. We attended with parents, and kids from ages 7 to 17, and we all loved the experience and Liz's impressive singing and acting. Great job, Liz!
Very passionate about music and artistry, but at the same time flexible with his teaching style. I'm glad I found Dan to help me improve my vocal singing skills and also build my music theory knowledge from the ground up!
I have been taking voice lessons with Marla Volovna for 7 months now. In this short time I have progressed faster than I ever had before, in vocal technique as well as in interpretation and musicianship. Marla is very demanding, very honest and very encouraging a killer combo for success. And Marlas commitment to her students progress really extends beyond the weekly lesson, with regular communication of tips to improve technique, interpretation, links to performances, documentaries, archives, etc I highly recommend Volovna Vocal Studio.
My lessons with Miriam are awesome! She's not just teaching me about singing or how to use my voice but also everything around it like posture and emotions. She helps and encourages me to push my limit, expanding my vocal range. I'm really enjoying my lesson with her and always looking forward to our next session!
Lynn's response connected best with my situation. It's all my fault for not following up. I travel extensively. As soon as I can establish a routine I will contact Lynn for piano lessons.
Sarah participated in the St. John's choir and also took private vocal lessons with Emily to improve her singing and confidence. We found Emily to be fun, responsible, engaging, and we saw great improvements in Sarah's abilities during her time with Emily. Additionally, I will emphasize that Emily has great skill in working with a variety of personalities, including expert skills in working with special needs kids.
Great singing lessons! Margaret obviously knows what she is doing and helped me improve my singing skills that I use for musical theater. She is also friendly and made the lessons fun. I can't recommend Margaret highly enough!
Roxanna was fantastic with our son Clark. She was patient and helped him to always stay excited about learning piano, she is very good with kids. I would highly recommend her as a piano teacher!
I have been taking guitar lessons at the studio since it opened. The facility is amazing and all instructors I have met are friendly, professional musicians. I love taking lessons here because they are tailored to fit my style and goals. I would and do recommend the studio to students of any age/ skill level.
It would have been nice to have more information about the actual teacher who would be coming to the house. I took it on blind faith that he was a good teacher and a normal person. There was no resume or bio or picture or anything. Turns out, Adam seems great (2 lessons so far). But more info would have been helpful.
Even as a professional singer who has made appearances on America's Got Talent, The Singoff, and X-Factor, and who has performed as a Backup Singer for Justin Bieber, Usher, and Mary J Blige, I believe there is always room for improvement. Ross has been an amazing vocal instructor for me. I've worked with Ross for over two years, and he has helped open up my voice, tone and range. Singing as a baritone/bass most of my life, Ross was the first instructor to tell me that I was a tenor. Previous to Ross' instruction, singing any note above a middle F meant either yelling or transitioning to falsetto. Once I started working with Ross, I was able to sing an F# comfortably, then a G, then a G#. And it hasn't stopped. Ross uses classical technique, exercises, and visualization to help open up your voice. In addition, to Ross' technical expertise, he is also very easy to work with. He has a welcoming and comedic personality that makes every lesson fun. I would highly recommend Ross as a vocal instructor for singers at any level in their career. Natalie has been fantastic to work with! Her instruction through exercises, general tips/suggestions, and specific ideas when working on a particular song has all been stellar and on point throughout my work with her. I feel like I have improved dramatically over the course of our lessons, and my band members have made several comments about my improvement as well. She has an uncanny knack for knowing what I am doing with my breath, diaphragm, throat, mouth, etc., and being able to suggest just the right adjustments to make things sound better and more comfortable to sing. Natalie is a wonderful person, too, very encouraging, supportive, and respectful. I highly, highly recommend her!!
Autumn houses her lessons with a great atmosphere that promotes being comfortable, learning about your own voice and vocal topics alike, and simply having fun as she helps you find your own voice. As a student of hers, I can honestly say I have never seen such progress in my own voice like I have since I started working with Autumn. When I enter each lesson I feel relaxed, excited, and in sync with my voice. She has a vast knowledge of the most essential techniques, styles, tones, and much more, especially in the world of classical music and the vocal machine in general, but believe me, she can apply vocal techniques and styles to many different kinds of music. She relates to your questions and singing through her own experience and what she hears from other vocalists, giving you many perspectives to relate your feelings to while singing, really helping you identify and dial in a certain feeling you may have while singing, or being given a very helpful analogy or physically painted picture using your body to help you find your voice. Without Autumn's strong dedication, passion, knowledge, and upbeat attitude about singing and music, many of my questions would be unanswered and I honestly would be nowhere near the point in my progressing singing that our hard work has brought me now. Rest assured, Autumn Allee will not back down from a challenge and make sure everything becomes clear to you, your questions are answered, and new skills are gained through first hand experience. Not to mention she has a beautiful voice! I'd give her 8 stars if I could!
I've been taking singing lessons with Cherie for about a year. I've always wanted to perform at open mics and maybe start a band but I knew I had some work to do before feeling confident. So I started singing lessons with Cherie to help prepare me for performance but we also spent a lot of time growing my voice. I realized I had a much bigger range than I'd thought. BTW - I'm also a beginner guitarist and we sometimes have guitar lessons too. She's a great guitarist and singer. So I really feel like she's the best out there for that type of work. If you want to not only work on your voice but learn how to perform and have a fun time in general - I'd book Cherie for lessons. She's a pro :-)
