Rhythm n' Grooves

Introduction: I use a vision-centered, goal-oriented approach to my teaching. I help students first identify where they want to go, and then we develop a curriculum that will help them get there. My primary goal is to help young players understand the importance of playing musically with others and keeping solid time, while improving in their soloing and movement around the drumset. I love the moment when a student "gets it." When they've been working on a really hard groove for a few weeks, or a particular fill they've been having trouble with, and they finally nail it. The thrill is seeing people push through though barricades and come out stronger on the other side.
