Bought three months worth of bass lessons for my husband on his birthday, and he loves his new instructor! Paul is great and patient. My husband had his first lesson, and he already knows he will learn a lot from Paul. Thank you, Paul! He's one happy man...that makes me his one happy wife!
Omar is very professional and patient. My daughter is enjoying her cello lessons.
Beginner electric bass guitar lessons, 1 hour per week, at Rancho Canyon Music. I have been taking lessons with Lou for two months. Lou is an experienced, knowledgeable, and patient instructor. Additionally, he is personable and has a good sense of humor which makes the lessons fun. Lou finds ways to easily relate a theory or technique to you in everyday terms. He is a formally trained musician who performs regularly for audiences. His training and regular performing, coupled with his teaching techniques makes him my first choice for music instruction. Lou arrives on time and is ready begin working with you, evidence he values your time as well. Lou goes above and beyond for his students by providing in class resources, useful online content, and instructional online videos. All of which I have found helpful and not readily found in other music instructors. Lou can quickly analyze what is happening and provide you with helpful input to help you understand and improve. It is clear to me Lou understands the teaching process. He explains things in a logical order, using building blocks of learning. I would highly recommend Lou to all of my family and friends. An hour lesson is filled with easily digestible information and practical application. My understanding and enjoyment of playing my bass guitar has been energized working with Lou.
I've been taking guitar lessons with Kimberly since the beginning of 2011. At the time I'd had several years of lessons using a traditional method on acoustic guitar and was looking for a teacher who could help me focus on electric blues rock and move me beyond my intermediate skill level. Kimberly has a real focus on and talent for teaching. My lessons are tailored to meet my interests. A large part of the lesson is devoted to learning her method for blues soloing--at least 5 approaches to improvisation and comping. After several years, I've come to see how these approaches interweave, complement each other and have become an intuitive part of my musical vocabulary. Also, because I expressed an interest, part of the lesson involves sight reading, learning blues and jazz theory, developing rhythmic playing sense, and learning a few favorite solos. Kimberly has an amazing ability to tab out and teach any song you give her. Which leads to the best part--after 6 months I was invited to play with one of her ensemble classes. While I was absolutely petrified with fear at the beginning, this has turned into one of the highlights of my week every week. It is just downright fun! It's a safe and forgiving environment where you can make mistakes and learn, or try things out that might flop, or turn into something cool. Every teacher and guitar magazine article all point to the need to play with other musicians to develop your skills and this is where Kimberly Allison really delivers. I feel that I could now sit in with other musicians and contribute. I give my highest recommendation for taking lessons with Kimberly.
Mark was very prompt and professional in his response to my project request. He is a very relaxed guy and made me feel very comfortable during my first lesson. We chatted about my goals, which I feel confident of achieving from Mark. During the first lesson he was making "light bulbs" go on for me for stuff i was struggling trying to learn! He made it so simple and fun. His rates are reasonable. He is worth every bit of it in my opinion. I have had three lessons since and I can not wait until the next one! (FYI...i am mid fifties male playing for three years)
Hello, My name is Abigail. Im 11 years old and have been taking guitar lessons from Damien for about 2 years now. He has taught me how to read music. I have learned step by step, no rushing into music whatsoever. In the beginning of my lessons, Damien gave me a booklet/guitar notebook to record every lesson. My first lessons were basically getting to know music and my guitar. The next couple of lessons he began teaching me how to play simple songs like Twinkle-Twinkle, Happy Birthday and Mary Had a Little Lamb. Further on, Damien allowed me to choose a couple of my favorite songs, which he then taught me how to play. I definitely recommend any beginners to attend his lessons because you will not regret it.
At the age of 9 my son Julian started to take group guitar lessons from Pat. After that session I ask Pat if he does private lessons, he said yes but its at La Puente. So from Chino Hills I took my son to La Puente every Saturday for the next 5 years. He is very good with kids and I highly recommend him. My son now 18 enjoys writing songs & performing.
Steve is a wonderful teacher. When I started lessons I had been playing for a while but I needed guidance on where to go from just basic chords and strumming patterns. Steve tailored my lessons to the genres I wanted to study while giving me exercises that would better my study no matter what direction I chose to go. We even started coupling the guitar lessons with banjo lessons! Steve is well versed in so many genres and instruments and on top of that, he is a friendly, patient and fun person who communicates well and is easy to get along with.
Joey has been our guitar instructor for almost 3 years and we adore him. He has been great as an instructor but we had no idea how amazing he would be as a mentor for our son as he came into teenage years. He has helped to dispell stigmas of what "cool" music is all about which is so great with an angsty teenager. This has all been through private lessons and we are just switching to G4 and super pumped.
Really glad I discovered this site. Without it, I wouldn't have discovered Dave. He's a real down to Earth kind of guy with an excellent background in bass and adaptable teaching styles for any level of student!
Lucas is an incredible musician and equally fantastic teacher. His musical talent, ability to read his student and amazing energy combine to create the perfect lesson. My daughter's bass and guitar skills improved immensely under his direction and her love of music flourished. He's amazing!
Jason is awesome. It started out with my daughter taking lessons from him, now it's both of us. First of all, my daughter Lauren is 5 years old. 5. Literally just started Kindergarten. She can't read - but she can do a power chord. That's all due to Jason's help. It takes serious patience to teach a five year old how to play guitar. Not just patience... but Jason is a pleasure to have in our home. He's great with my daughter. And... great at teaching an adult too. I've only been playing guitar for a few months, but people think I've been at it a while.
I have been taking private lessons with Juan for the last 2 1/2 years. Juan is a terrific teacher. He has great wealth of knowledge, attentive to details, with just the right way of guidance and fun to be with. He makes learning music a pleasure!
I meet him at his little studio for about half hour, went over my goals I had as a bass player no Charge. Im a 50 year old man who's been tring to learn bass. Have lots of books and computer aids like songster,Ultimate guitar pro,ect.. . He found my main weekness and started to work on it. In 4 weeks i have learned more than i have in 3 years. His lessons are fun and very informative. Highly recommend Evan Chudnow very professional. If you want to learn bass you need a teacher, books alone and computer aids don't cut it. I should have gotten myself a teacher 3 years ago instead of spend money on books and computer aid. There no substitution like having a good teacher and having the satisfaction of seeing Progress in such a short time. Thanks Evan !!
Great skills to teach. Friendly way to communicate. Perfect sence of humor. Strongly recommended. Rouben Sekoyan, Paralegal.
Mr. Graf was my very first music teacher. Amazing man. He encouraged me to explore multiple instruments, and made learning to play, read, and make music exciting and fun. I will never forget his passion, energy, and his awesome hair
I have been taking guitar lessons from Brian for a couple of years and I am very pleased. I am in my late 50s and took lessons from several instructors and learned mostly power chords and memorized some riffs. With Brian I have progressed to a thorough understanding of the pentatonic and major scales allowing me to solo and improvise. Brian is very knowledgeable and adaptable to my learning style. He has incorporated other reference materials I have in addition to recommending references he is familiar with.
Have known Keith for about 25 years. Super musician and singer. By himself, or with his group, you won't find a better source for musical entertainment.

My Mediterranean, European multicultural background combined with my American standard of music education gives me the capability and the edge to work in a variety of musical realms. Being quad lingual doesn't hurt either !!
