FAQs
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
An initial phone conversation establishes whether or not I can best meet the students needs, from there our first lesson appointment is most often a meet and great and an overview of the students goals, our practice approach, and the plan for the coming month of lessons (along with how that fits into the overall curriculum).
- What types of customers have you worked with?
I provide private, weekly guitar lessons for beginning to advanced guitarists of all ages. Each individual student will require personalized instruction, but in addition to this "custom approach" I utilize an organized and detailed curriculum that covers all of the major areas and fundamentals of guitar playing and music education. In this way, I am able to strike a balance between keeping lessons fun and engaging, and actually educating my students! :)
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
There is nothing that replaces the dynamic between a student and teacher - so first and foremost, find an instructor that you or your child really relate to and are comfortable working with. That being said, a good relationship with a teacher won't in itself make you a better player! Several other important factors to consider are: does the teacher follow a method or curriculum? Are their ongoing evaluations of student progress? Does the student get to learn music they know and enjoy? Are their regular recitals or concerts that allow students to achieve goals and gain experience performing?
