We had a great time at our cooking lesson with Boris! A cooking lesson is an excellent gift idea for anyone! We got a gift certificate from my husband's family for Christmas, and we had a blast and learned a lot. And of course, all of the food was delicious! My husband and I don't cook much, and when we do cook we are pretty timid and tend to follow recipes very closely because we are afraid of messing up. It was a lot of fun to watch expert chef Boris create 5 amazing Thai dishes (at our request, we LOVE Thai food!!) from just ingredients and his incredible skills- no recipe needed!! He gave us all kinds of great tips along the way- proper cooking temperatures for meats, what order to cook certain ingredients, how to best hold a knife when chopping vegetables, etc... From start to finish he was very easy to work with, always making sure that we were learning what we wanted to learn and that we were enjoying ourselves. I really learned a lot! And after our cooking lesson, I even had the courage to whip up a little stir fry dish with no recipe from some leftover ingredients we had... I call that progress! :) Would highly recommend a cooking lesson with Boris. He really knows his stuff and was a pleasure to work with! Our cooking lesson was such a treat and a great experience for us!

We hired Tim to do a private cooking class and dinner for a group of 10 at an airbnb in Tahoe. Tim let us choose from 3 different menus ahead of time and came very prepared. He brought all the equipment necessary and had backup plans in case if we didn't have a grill or, in our case, our grill was too small. He did arrive a bit late, but adjusted his setup and cooking to still make the time we targeted for dinner. The group really enjoyed the lesson with Tim. Tim was very friendly and engaging, and the food was delicious. His pricing was very affordable, and we gave a huge tip at the end because we really enjoyed his service.

I hired Chelsea to bake cupcakes and set up for a baby shower I was hosting. Chelsea helped me select the flavor combo for the cupcakes and they turned out delicious! She was on time delivering them and did a fantastic job carrying out my vision for the set up of the shower. She even did the floral arrangements. I strongly recommend Chelsea for catering or events. She's professional, punctual and personable. I plan on hiring her again for my future events.

My husband and I felt we needed to diversify our culinary knowledge so we called on Chef Yves. The classes were great (we took 3 classes). Lessons were very informative, creative, and hands on, all in a friendly ambiance. Chef Yves showed us different ways to cook more efficiently. We also learned nice plate setting decoration ideas. Chef Yves' experience from many countries in Europe is definitely a plus and a huge benefit in the overall experience. We asked many questions about regional culinary traditions. I recommend Chef Yves' lessons to all my friends. We will call on Chef Yves's help for our next special family dinner. Definitely 5 Stars. T & D.

        About

Located in Yountville, CA, alongside Keller’s Bouchon Bistro and just down the road from The French Laundry, Bouchon Bakery was first conceived as a way to provide these restaurants with one-of-a-kind breads but quickly blossomed into an important retail establishment in its own right. In the style of classic French boulangeries, the bakery features a wide selection of artisanal breads and classic desserts drawn from Chef Keller’s memories of life in France. Blending traditional techniques with a depth of knowledge in the science of bread making, Bouchon Bakery bakes hand-crafted breads from ingredients that meet both his and Chef Keller’s exacting standards. Pastry chef Janine Weismann creates an array of sweet delights, including classic Viennoiserie, such as croissants and pain au chocolat, breakfast items like muffins and coffee cakes as well as an ever-changing selection of tarts, cookies and other treats. The bakery also offers a full range of espresso drinks and coffee custom blended by Chef Keller’s longtime partner, Equator Coffee Roasters. For guests interested in enjoying a full meal, Bouchon Bakery offers savory items like sandwiches, soup, salads and quiche.

How much do private cooking lessons cost?

You can take private cooking classes to have fun, to learn a new skill, to improve your health, to bond with your partner, to enjoy a playful first date or to have a unique birthday party experience. Nationally the average cost of private cooking lessons ranges between $100 and $150. Prices can vary, depending on where you live, the type of cooking class you’re taking, the ingredients the chef provides, and the reputation of the chef. Cooking classes with Anthony Bourdain will clearly cost more than classes with a local restaurant owner. The number of people in the class will also affect the cost, with group lessons often priced per person to account for the cost of ingredients. For example, for group lessons, a brunch workshop may cost an average of $70 per person, a steak dinner with sides could cost an average of $80-$85 per person, and a sushi lesson could cost an average of $100 per person. Ingredients play a major role in cost, as the chef will pre-purchase the food you will be working with. Weekday classes will usually cost less than weekend classes.
