FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My regular fee is $65/hour. I offer a lowered rate if you pay in advance: 4 lessons paid in advance goes down to $60 lesson (one payment of $240). 8 lessons paid in advance goes down to $55 lesson (one payment of $440)
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
The first lesson is about getting to know each other and establishing a good relationship with each other. At this lesson, I also like to give my new students a general overview of what is involved in singing (like what actually is supposed to happen in the body when you make a great sound). This is a unique lesson in that we talk a lot and you won't get to sing much. Lessons after this first one are geared toward working on vocal technique through your singing of exercises and repertoire.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
My Bachelor's and Master's degrees are in Music with a focus on vocal performance. In my professional performance career, I sang opera, musical theatre, jazz, contemporary commercial music and country. I originally come from an acting performance background in theatre and while living in New York City, I studied acting and musical theatre seriously. I graduated from Circle in the Square Theatre School and later went on to do more music study at the doctoral level in conducting.
