Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: I teach singing, piano and general music lessons focusing on many different styles of music. My goal is to help my students understand and experience how to use their body - their own personal musical instrument - to create amazing sounds they never dreamed they could produce. I focus on many things in my teaching. Number one is developing the voice by focusing on the fundamentals of singing, i.e. breathing, support, freeing up the vocal mechanism from excess tension, etc. The result of this focus is a larger range and more power, freedom and beauty to the vocal sound. What I like to say is I give my students a "toolbag" of skills from which to choose and you can apply them to any style of music be it classical, pop, jazz, musical theatre, or any other. We also apply all of these skills to any songs you are singing. Other things I also like to focus on is song interpretation and learning to let the song be sung "through" you. (in other words, making the song your own). If you are into musical theatre or have other types of performance opportunities, you are always welcome to bring any of that music into your lesson. I love getting to know my students and partnering with them in helping them find their own unique voices. The thing I love very most is when my students have epiphanies in their learning - something which happens pretty frequently - when they discover a new, better way of singing and the effect it has on their vocal sound. There's just nothing like it - it's exciting for everybody! I love what I do!

Anne-Marie has been my vocal coach for almost two years. She was able to do what no other vocal coach could (and I have had several)...she taught me the basics and the nuances of how to sing correctly, with beautiful results. Her patience, personal approach, caring, teaching techniques and experience as a professional vocal artist were what made all of the difference for me. Anne-Marie uses a holistic approach towards teaching proper physical techniques and mental visualization to develop proper breathing, beautiful tones, increased power and sustained notes. Once this was attained, she introduced me to dynamics, shaping and intonation to help polish my voice. Anne-Marie then spent time to help me understand the meaning behind the music and lyrics and to deliver the message of the music while drawing from my own personal experiences to make the music my own. I cannot say enough for this talented vocal coach. I am a 56 year old true baritone... and apparently old dogs can learn new tricks with the right trainer. That said, Anne-Marie has mentioned that the majority of her students have been children and young adults. I can't think of a better teacher to help young people learn the correct techniques and artistry so that they can experience the joy of music and their own artistry for the rest of their lives. No downside. She's the best and I wish her continued success.

Anne-Marie was wonderful! Encouraging. Caring. But most importantly, informative. I've been singing all my life; as a toddler, annoying my brothers and sisters, to school choirs and shows, and even went on to study musical theatre in college. The only time I had a voice teacher was in college, seven year ago, and I had not been confident with the quality of my voice then, and knew I was out of practice now. But all things considered, with just 8 short weeks with Anne, I learned more then I had in my whole singing career. I am a very hands-on learner, terminology is not a strong suit of mine, and Anne-Marie used different visuals in order to get me to produce the right results. It was challenging, my body was not used to what she was asking, and it fought. Bad habits die hard, but hard work pays off, and the sound that came from my body on our last lesson literally had me in a state of shock. She brought back something I thought I lost, and gave me something I never thought I had. On the way home, the radio played. “Don't give up, you've got the music in you...”, and it may sound cheesy, (I'm a theatre major, what d'ya expect?), but I smiled and knew this was just the beginning. I will continue to work with Anne-Marie, and HIGHLY recommend her for anyone looking to stretch themselves and their dreams. Whether you are a beginner or a seasoned singer, she will make you great, because -she- is great.
