    Nancy Balenzano Piano Teacher

    (12 reviews)

My many years of experience teaching piano give me a vast knowledge base to draw upon, as well as many teaching techniques for teaching each new concept. The more techniques I have at my disposal, the more likely it is I have something that will really click with a student. The thing I like most about my job is the thrill I see in a student's eyes when he realizes he CAN do it, and he DOES understand this stuff after all!

    Camino Music Studio

    (11 reviews)

Each session, I focus on teaching a lesson tailored specifically to each students' needs and moving step by step accordingly based on a structured syllabus. If necessary, and at no cost to the student, I am willing to go overtime with the student to ensure that they go home with a clear understanding of their piano pieces and what is expected from them in their assigned homework. This allows for our lesson in the following week's session to be as productive as possible in order for us to move on to the next level and learn new music pieces. I also teach Music Theory classes to help sharpen students' skills and knowledge in music composition, and incorporate the use of iPads to supplement their instruction. I am passionate in teaching the art of music and piano to students that are willing to learn. Because studying piano is a commitment, I am able to determine if the student is engaging with the lesson well and whether their heart willingly enables them to learn piano earnestly. I especially enjoy encouraging my students, watching their piano skills improve over time, and witnessing them reap the benefits of their hard work as they develop their own love for piano.

I took lessons as a kid, and loved it. When my small town teacher moved, I couldn't find a new one. Have always regretted not continuing. Would like to pick it up again. Last piece I learned (as a kid) was Prelude in C Minor, if that helps at all.
