I contacted MVP Plumbing via website "Thumb Tack" on behalf of an elderly disabled recipient who had a kitchen sink leak issue. Mike Vargas responded immediately. I explained the recipient was looking for a volunteer as she has no means to pay for professional services. Mike Vargas did not hesitate and said there will be no charge in this particular situation and will come by to see what he can do. Kudos to Mike Vargas, owner of MVP Custom Plumbing Co., to be willing to come out and volunteer his services to somebody he doesn't even know. Mr. Vargas was very courteous, professional and empathetic. He is an excellent example of what this world needs more of. Mr. Vargas is an asset to the community. We have a small business, and needed help with hiring, employee termination, quickbooks, and all the laws that require alot of details. She is available to answer questions with a rapid turn around, and gives attention to details on a proactive basis. We would not be able to run our business without her company! I can't think of anything I need to make this service better, but if she thinks there is anything, I believe she will be proactive in supplying that service before I need it. I went in to see Naseer for a free consultation, as I'm fairly new as a freelance writer and didn't know anything about what had to be done with my taxes. He immediately found out that my previous accountant had done my taxes wrong, and I didn't have my Schedule C -- and I was wondering why I didn't have it when I was filing for insurance. Not only did he find the error, but he walked me through the ways that I could save money, taught me how to keep track of my expenses for my business, and overall would be helping me to save a bunch of money. I was extremely nervous about this year's taxes since last year hit me rather hard, but I'll be coming back to see Naseer when it comes time to file my taxes. He's a great guy, wonderful to talk to, and he'll make sure everything gets done properly.

Last summer, I looked for a firm to address our small business tax issue. I tried a Chamber search tool and I tried Thumbtack. Although Cano Accounting was the result of my Thumbtack research, I made the huge mistake of selecting the firm on the Chamber list that online, only appeared to have the experienced staff to address the issues. Although they were quick to take my retainer check, they started to work only after months of inactivity. They worked for 1 month and then decided they were too busy to continue my compliance project or keep to our written Agreement. Their bookkeeper appeared competent, but was not available to take on my project when I was available for reviewing records. Frustrated, I released the first firm and contacted Mr. Cano in the hopes they were more professional. Days later, Mr. Cano and his staff competently reviewed my tax compliance status, and we agreed on a scope of work, schedule and labor rate that was very reasonable. Within 2 weeks, Mr. Cano and staff had gone through years of bank records, and brought my firm closer to full tax compliance. My firm has engaged Cano Accounting for their professionalism, and for the long-term to ensure the successful growth of my environmental management firm.

Lea Ann has done supervisory and accounting work for our businesses for several years. She has overseen our bookkeeping staff, taught them Quick Books, reviewed their work product and made sure everything was done correctly. Lea Ann came in on a regular basis each month for as many hours we needed her and made her self available on extra days whenever we needed her. She works quickly and efficiently as well as being pleasant to have in the office. We were always happy with the quality and thoroughness of her work. She made sure all our records were prepared to go to the accountant at tax time and interfaced with the accountant which saved us a lot of money in accounting fees. Lea Ann worked well with our staff and ourselves and was a valued member of our businesses until we sold two years ago. Lea Ann still helps me on an informal basis, although I am retired, with Quick Books which I use to manage my real estate holdings. She makes herself available over the phone or in person as needed. I rely on her and she never disappoints.
