Why I love Shape Up Studio...There are several reasons. First of all, there is something about that gym that feels different. There's really good energy and the atmosphere feels relaxed and fun at the same time. All the trainers are so kind, approachable and very knowledgeable. I've been going there for a few months now and have gotten to meet Markshane. He's very dedicated, professional, and filled with energy. He takes the time to really listened and help you reach your goals, whether it's loosing weight, training for an event, or simply keeping an active lifestyle. I also love my 30 minute circuit class on Tues & Thursdays with Vinny. That class is super fun and you go at your own pace. Getting massages with Christine, the massage therapist, is also a treat-Especially, when it's in the same building. They have a nutritionist there as well that can guide you and keep you on track. A lot of the comments below definitely resonated and seems that there is a commonality: and that is a great place to train with the support you need. That is why I love Shape Up Studio! P.s. OJ is 1 of the best personal trainers I've ever come into contact with. For starters, your initial meeting is a workout created to personalize your strengths and weaknesses for future sessions. Afterwards, he speaks with you regarding your target goals, time frame, ideal weight etc. Meanwhile, he's compiling a special profile just for you in his computer. He sends weekly updates on your progress like: body fat percentage and weight loss/gain. In addition, he also sends motivational text messages during the week. He really is the most professional personal trainer I've ever encountered. I'm just 3 weeks into my training sessions and I'm already seeing results. Thanks OJ!

Yesterday was the first day of training and all I can say is I got really lucky finding Mark. He's a very nice guy, he works with you perfectly, he's personable and genuinely cares. The really cool thing about working with Mark is that I'm walking away from our meetings feeling super motivated, even more than I expected. I'm looking forward to working with him through my journey of getting back to where I want to be weight and health-wise. I highly recommend Mark!

As a physician working very long hours and a new dad, I was suffering from worsening fatigue, stiffness, and discomfort. I no longer have discomfort, and have significantly improved my posture, strength, and mobility by working with Kathleen. I feel improvements with each training session, which specifically address my issues of concern. I look forward to my work outs, and I actually enjoy them. Kathleen is an absolute pleasure to work with, and is very knowledgeable and professional. I highly recommend her!
I have been training with Johanna Godinez now for almost 3 years and I can honestly say I am WAYY better shape than I have ever been in my life. I had multiple trainers in the past, but the difference is Johanna Godinez not only gave me a great workout every single session. She also showed me how to live a healthy clean lifestyle. And that is what seperates Johanna from the rest of the trainers out there. Many trainers can guide you to lose weight or get into shape, but Johanna Godinez is the only trainer I have ever had the pleasure to work with that taught me it is not only important to take my training session serious, but more importantly make healthy living a lifestyle. Johanna is extremely educated at her profession and takes her job very seriously. I would highly recommend her to anyone one who is serious about achieving there fitness goals.
Rochelle is amazing - I was really nervous to start working out after a rough year, and training with Rochelle is the best thing I could have done for myself . She really takes the time to "read" you and structure the workouts in a way that is challenging (for sure) but not intimidating or unnecessarily brutal. She's just on point - I already feel a difference after a month and I actually look forward to it. The woman knows what she's doing. She's also really fun and charming.
Just started trying 3 times a week. Love it! Diane's knowledge of nutrition, functional medicine and training the body is astounding. She can explain such scientific information in simple, easy to understand terms. I am glad I started this journey with her and look forward to a healthier me with Diane's help.

I had a dozen questions for Steve and he answered them all so that I could understand the information. He's extremely punctual and when it's time to get to work he pushes you to do more, even after you've done more. For me, we kept our workouts at a circuit pace with minimal downtime between exercises -- mostly just to briefly explain what to do if it was new to me. Steve helps explain proper technique, too. I'd definitely recommend using Steve's services if you're the kind of person who needs that extra bit of motivation, or wants results from your workouts.
I just want to start off by saying thanks a lot for the great workout Jacob! My arms and legs feel like noodles! Jacob has a great attitude and made the time he was training me enjoyable, even tho I was sweating and my body was feeling the burn! Jacob used a variety of different workouts that I've never tried out. I will be going back to workout with him again and see what level he can take me to. Thanks again Jacob!
Haley is focused on helping me achieve my goals and makes every session challenging (& somehow fun). My fitness is increasing and I’ve seen improvements in my ability to box, complete more sit ups / core exercises, Haley pushes me harder throughout each session. I find I actually look forward to my workouts. I must be a glutton for punishment. Importantly: Haley ensures that my technique is always correct to avoid any injuries. She is extremely reliable & punctual – always set up & ready to start training ahead of time, with an exercise routine planned. I thoroughly enjoy working out in the outdoor environment, and would recommend Haley to anyone looking to improve their fitness with a dedicated trainer. Haley is the one!
I've done group training and individual training with Vanesa. She pushes you and gets you to do things you don't think you can. The sessions are always fun, and always a workout. She is constantly changing things up so I'm finding myself sore often, which is a good thing! The one thing I love is that she focuses on making me strong, which does more for my confidence than the scale. I've gotten into the best shape with her and highly recommend her.

I had the opportunity to work with Mr. Cruz for a year, certifying personal trainers and training tactical athletes. His level of knowledge and professionalism were instrumental to the success of our program. Mr. Cruz always seemed to be able to relate to the athletes, regardless of their background and goals. This made the training sessions quite efficient and smooth, while also ensuring each athlete remained motivated. It was a great pleasure working with and for Anthony Cruz.

I consider myself a rather active and engaged in my own fitness, so when I moved to Irvine, I did not see myself changing my routine. That is until I hit a plateau. I met Lamar during a cardio session at my local gym. His affable personality immediately indicated that he was not there to sell me anything, but rather, extol some much needed fitness knowledge. We set up a time for a complementary training session and assessment. Oh, geez, I learned so much about how much harder I needed to push to reach my goals. Lamar was very honest but practical. My favorite part is that he gave me things to do to enhance my current workout at no charge! This says a lot about a about his dedication to and love of fitness. After I worked out, I was so sore but knew I had a lot of room to grow to make gains. I subsequently signed up for his one-on-one training and am so happy I did as I would never have believed I could push past my current stagnation. It is so clear that Lamar loves what he does and it translates into the passion he he displays when with his clientele. He will push you, no doubt, but it's in service of your goals, and thus, well worth it! -Kai
