We had concrete work done. But also required demolition and dumping, labor prior to pouring. Overall, the end result was exactly what we pictured. It was done in a very timely manner and very efficiently done. Very meticulous with quality of work.
Adam was prompt and courteous. Very conscientious about the quality of his work. He did a great job replacing baseboards and applying drywall to repair water damage. Also, repaired bad stress cracks in my walls and other shoddy plastering work by a previous owner. He has an hourly rate this is very reasonable and he din't draw out the work to make extra money. Very efficient.
Steve proved himself to be an excellent choice for me to have some home improvement work taken care. Within 10 minutes of placing my request on Thumb Tac, I had received a response from Steve with an estimate of how much it would cost to do the work site unseen. Within an hour he was onsite looking over the project; we were able to quickly negotiate a fair price to have the work done with Steve including the demolition and haul-away of a weathered wooden shed and the spa pump, heater, and other items stored within it. My primary request was to have a somewhat large, very weathered wood deck demoed and hauled away to a landfill/dump. Steve turned out to be an easy-going, personable, and exceptionally hard worker very knowledgeable in many areas of home improvement, construction and demolition. He carefully and expertly executed the demolition and haul away of the entire wood deck. – A lot of work. Steve worked his a$$ off to demo the deck and haul it away in an efficient, timely, and proper manner. As a result, I asked Steve to also provide a power wash to my house paying special attention to my very weathered front walkway pavers. Throughout the project Steve followed through on every promise and worked especially hard to bring out the best with the power washing of the pavers providing an exceptionally noticeable improvement after removing a lot of baked in dirt, grime, and fungus. There were a couple of times when Steve could not make it back to continue the work at the agreed upon time due to unexpected ‘life’ events, which I understand happens to all of us. However, even given a couple of unexpected hold-ups, he made it to the site every day, kept me in the loop with what was going on, and gave me a discount to compensate for the inconvenience and hold-up in getting to the site due to these interruptions. He went so far as to show up on a Sunday to coat and seal the newly power washed front walkway pavers. All-in-all, it was a great experience working with Steve. He was reliable, a hard worker, very proficient and knowledgeable, and very competitively priced. I look forward to having him back for other home improvements in the near future. Thanks for a great job, Steve! -Bob
Cesar with CNX Concrete Construction is the real deal. On time and on point with a positive attitude and a love for his job. His prices were higher than others, but you get what you pay for. There are a million people doing concrete out there, Cesar sets himself apart by utilizing a quality instead of quantity approach with a high standard of material selection and utilization. No need to click anywhere else. Do yourself a favor and go with CNX...
I hired Robin (MFP Construction) to install a post mounted mailbox at our office. We immediately ran into unforeseen issues, like a gas line and buried concrete in the two places I wanted to install the mailbox. Robin was flexible and innovative with solving issues that arose. He has an incredible work ethic, while waiting for the concrete to set, he cleaned out a rock bed adjacent to the project removing debris and rearranging the 200 pounds of rocks, this was not part of his scope of work, he did this instead of having downtime. When he was done, the building front looked like it did the day we moved in, clean and professional. I could not be any more impressed with his finished work or his work ethics. I would absolutely hire him again for any project that requires his expertise.
We had a small bathroom renovation planned. We requested 2 bids from contractors in the Thumbtack network: Top Knotch and another contractor. Both contractors bid very competitively. (We’d had prior bids from other contractors – not from Thumbtack - at 3 to 5 times the price.) Though Top Knotch was not the lowest bidder of the 2 Thumbtack contractors, we selected this company because they had a variety of skillsets that other contractor did not. In addition to the tile work, they moved a bathroom light, installed an exhaust fan, installed a medicine cabinet, repaired some drywall, could remove and replace the toilet, etc. We have a 1930’s home with hanky wiring and unsquared walls and unleveled floors. Mike was meticulous in his work and was able to overcome the unique challenges of this home. The mosaic rock backsplash (floor to ceiling) and the porcelain wood-look floor tile is beautiful. Mike and his assistant were always on time and worked a full day, every day until the project was completed. We were impressed that in this day of technology and constantly being “plugged in” to the world by cell phone, he didn’t drop everything to answer the phone every time it rang. His time in our home was spent on our project. Mike is very professional and meticulous in his work product. We’d use this company again and have plans to use him for our upcoming kitchen remodel. We’d definitely recommend him to anyone looking for quality work at a reasonable price. Rodney R.
We have been so pleased with the contractors that Thumbtack has referred to us. Today, Benito Matias repaired our damaged wood floor. He responded to our need quickly, which was surprising as often times contractors will delay new customers' requests. We highly recommend Benito because of the quality of his work. He is a skilled craftsman. You can tell that he enjoys seeing wood floors in prime condition. Not only that, he is professional in his approach. Benito communicates well and explains issues/challenges in the job when he has found and resolved them. Thank you Thumbtack and many thanks to Benito for a job well done!
Joe was considerate and not pushy. One of the very few contractors to return a call for a job estimate. He was punctual to the job site and when he had questions he never hesitated to ask resulting in a well-constructed fence.
Carpet repair job. Tony arrived timely on short notice. Very friendly and very professional. I am 100% satisfied with the result and would highly recommend this contractor.
Golden Oaks Kitchen, Bath and Flooring company was our contractor to do all repairs on our home damages caused by water damage that happened to our home due to water leakage which was started from second floor bath room and flooded to 1st. floor damaging, dray walls, cabinets, laminates +++ .. at 1st. and second floors. This company started their restoration and repair works the day after we signed the contract. Their crew were very professional in their fields of repair and replacement, they were trying their best to satisfy us. Any time that we had comments for adding more repair at one area or paint the areas in a color to match other paints , they were not arguing that and wanted us to be happy with what we need and what they did for us. They were always on time and also helped us to deliver new cabinets, toilets ++++. Overall everything was done on a very smooth way, on time and the way that we wanted to be done.
When I realized that Jonathan Tamayo was able to do much more than install 4 sliding door screens, my list grew exponentially and I was not disappointed. I asked for a brick-lined concrete walkway and a new back gate which Jonathan Tamayo built from scratch and wanted it to be perfect. I said,"It doesn't have to be perfect, it just has to be better than it was and it's already looking 10 times better than it was!" I've only observed people working that hard when I watched the NICU nurses who took care of our preemie twins when they were born, only those nurses were not dripping with sweat. Jonathan Tamayo was hard-working, friendly, conscientious and considerate. Yes contractors come to your house and they make a mess but you will LOVE that mess because in the end, your outcome is going to be so wonderful and Jonathan Tamayo did clean up after himself. He did a terrific job! Thanks!
He called, he came, he completed the job in a timely manner. He patched a area of carpet where a dog dug a hole. I can not even notice where the patch begins and ends because Phillip did such a fine job.
They did amazing work. Since I was new to getting concrete work done, he was thorough in explaining different options and his recommendations. I had lots of questions (because of reading online) and he was patient with me. Pricing was very good, and though our concrete is still drying for this week, I’m very happy.
Joe responded and communicated very well. Though I went with another contractor due to type of job, I recommend joe with his qualifications, knowledge and quick response
I would not hesitate to recommend HCC. Such an easy and seamless transaction and process from the very beginning . Keli's response time is so quick - which was very refreshing after chasing around a couple contractors just to get a bid on our project. Thank you for all your help and hard work Keli - and thank you for making our project run so well.
We had Coggins Construction install crown molding in our home. Patrick was very professional throughout the entire process and satisfactorily completed the project under the initial price quote, which was already extemely reasonable. He actually listened to what we wanted and was respectful of our house-things that previous contractors neglected. We would recommend Patrick's services to anyone.
Jordan as a person was very nice. His inital follow up was prompt and he spoke very highly of his attention to detail. As a first time homeowner, I know little about construction and heavily rely on the expert knowledge of others to assist with our remodel. We hired Jordan after meeting three other contractors based solely on our interaction with him. When we originally had Jordan out to our house it was for a flooring quote only. Jordan explained he also preformed landscaping work on the side so we added that to our list. Jordan did an amazing job installing the floors! The entire dynamic of the house changed because of the floors. I was very disappointed in a few other areas which is the reason for 4 stars. We do not currently live in the house although we do have a few items in place for weekend visits. Towards the end of the job Jordan said that they were mostly finished so I had gone to check out the progress. The tile work in both bathrooms is crooked. The master bath is very noticeable. In addition, my bedding was covered in dust and they had smeared grout into the carpet in my bedroom. There was also sloppy grouting and caulking done in several areas of my home. To add insult to injury his crew decided it was ok to help themselves to my kids popcicles - this actually upset me just asuch as the tile floor. Giving credit where it is due: Jordan and Tim did have my carpets cleaned, my bedding dry cleaned and I was given the option to have them rip up the bathroom floor or receive a discount from my final bill. Jordan did offer to replace the missing popcicles as well although that never did happen. The landscape looks nice as well but we asked to keep the remaining turf and that also didn't happen. I asked jordan about it and he said what was salvageable was in our shed - it wasnt. Again, I was very happy with the floors but the other items make it hard to say if I would rehire for additional projects. Nice guy but I didn't feel like our home was cared for in the way he said it would be. If you do decide to hire Jordan my recommendations would be: 1. Get a detailed breakdown of the work 2. Notate about the use of your personal items (they completely filled up both our garbage cans) 3. Inspect. Inspect. Inspect. Check every corner.
Samm's work resulted in a very nice fence at a reasonable price. The work was done promptly and the clean up and removal of the old fence was done well with no mess left behind or damage to other parts of the property. I would hire him again for futrure work. He also did some concrete work for my neighbor which came out very nice.
I requested bids through thumbtack for a concrete patio job and received quotes from 4 different contractors, of which Blake Carroll of Gold Star Concrete was one. We agreed on an appointment date and time and he was punctual. He came out and measured the area and went over specifics regarding what we wanted done, offered good insights and ideas about how to best do the job, and had a quote to me within a couple of hours. His quote was middle of the road and I researched his work and it was evident that his experience and attention to detail were far superior to his peers. I hired him and he was available to begin work in the same amount of time as the other Contractors (1 week). The work started and ended on time and there were no surprises. Blake was easy to reach and responsive to calls, texts, and e-mails throughout the job. Best of all, he does GREAT work! I definitely recommend him and will call him first for future projects.
These guys have a can do attitude. Very responsive. We had a shower faucet cartridge that was extremely difficult to change and they magically got it done. We also hired Andrews team to fix a previous contractors bad work. Their roofing skills really impressed. Solid work all around.
I called 6 tile contractors to get a bid on doing the backsplash in our kitchen. Miguel was the only one who even called back. He came out within a day to give us a bid. I was very concerned as I usually meet with several contractors, but I didn’t have that luxury this time. Miguel put all those worries to rest. He was completely professional, he took a lot of care with the layout and involved us when there were options. Our tile is wavy and the tile store had said there were not bullnose tiles in the wavy, so we’d have to have a flat tile around the edges. What? Ugly! Miguel came up with the perfect fix for that issue. The final product is gorgeous! I have no qualms about recommending Tile Crafters.
