I was in San Diego for 8 yrs thanks to the Navy. I bought a house and accumulated quite a bit of things to make my house to a home. Now that I am being stationed on the east coast and needed to get the house together for an open house. Hired Peak of Performance by recommendation from a friend and honestly I am extremely satisfied with the results. They were very professional and punctual. Being in the military punctuality is a big thing. After they finish cleaning my house I didnt recognize my house at all. Everything was emaculate and well put together. I definitely recommend them to everyone.

First hired Complete Green Cleaning for a strip and wax job. I liked their professionalism and quality of work. A few months later I hired them as janitorial service for our office space and have been happy ever since. These guys are very attentive and consistent.

Im in the process of doing several remodels and needed new carpeting in the first of the remodels. I was beginning to get annoyed by the amount of time it was taking to lock in someone to do the job, when Jorge contacted me. I hired him and he was excellent! What I first liked about Jorge was that, in his very 1st communication/email to me, he listed everything he would do, if hired, AND he gave me the exact price. I didn't have to waste any extra time, reaching him by phone to discuss things or by having him come over and give me a bid. I replied to Jorge's email, telling him that another individual was already finally on their way to give me a bid, but that so long as Jorge's price was not a lot higher than the bid I was about to receive, I would hire him, Jorge, simply because I appreciated his time-saving directness. It turned out that Jorge's bid was exactly half that of the other bid. I'm not exaggerating...it was HALF! (To be honest, that did make me a little nervous, but, hey, I had said I'd hire him, so i hired him.) Two days later, Jorge showed up precisely on time. He was super courteous. And, quicker than I expected, the job was done, and it looks great! (Oh, and I should mention one more thing...I screwed up. I didnt purchase enough carpet padding...and i didn't have time to go buy more...but without breaking stride, Jorge handled that hiccup for me, too.) I highly recommend Jorge and will be calling on him again.

Uray was very professional & courtesy. I scheduled an appointment for the next day & he was able to squeeze me in. I'm very picky of my carpet and have been through a lot of different companies. I Am Carpet Care is definitely affordable & gives quality services. Uray recommend his 2 step deep scrub (I think that's what it's called) since my carpet was very spotted from my 2 kids and dog. He also offered a free deodorizer for being a first time customer. After the job was completed my carpet looked brand new, fluffy and smelled like peaches! Uray was very awesome and knowledgeable & explained every step As he did it. I will definitely use I Am Carpet Care again and recommend to all my friends & family.

      About

Hi! My name is Lisa. I am a single mother who live for my kids and grandkids. I started cleaning houses 6 years ago after my divorce. I didn't think I would have stayed in the profession this long, but coming to find out that being my own boss gives me more time for myself and my kids, and as a mother, a peace of mind works wonders. So, that is what makes me good at what I do, and I love what I do. I am fast, accurate, on time, trustworthy, and honest. I have good communication skills, so we both know what is going on and what to expect. Thank you.

        Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How often should carpets be steam cleaned?

Dirty carpets can be unhealthy for the people living in the home, particularly those who have allergies, so it’s important to have them cleaned regularly; simply vacuuming once or twice a week isn’t enough. Carpet cleaning should be done by a professional carpet cleaning service at least once a year to remove grime and help extend the life of your carpet. Most carpet manufacturers recommend professional steam cleaning, which penetrates deep into the carpet fibers and lifts out both dirt and the pollutants that get tracked inside. Steam cleaning also removes most of the moisture, so carpets dry quickly enough for homeowners to resume using them the same day. Between professional carpet cleanings, your carpet may need an emergency spot cleaning. Pet accidents, food or drink spills, and more can often be effectively cleaned with some water and a drop of white vinegar, although many cleaners will also make house calls for smaller spills and hard-to-clean spots like wine or grease stains.

How do you find a good carpet cleaning company?

Regular professional carpet cleaning can both extend the life of your carpet and remove harmful pollutants from your home. Finding a good carpet cleaning company is an important aspect of home maintenance. When choosing a carpet cleaner, consider these top three questions:

        • What method of carpet cleaning do you prefer? Steam cleaning is an increasingly popular method because it’s thorough and safe, and dries quickly enough for you to return to your home the same day the carpets are cleaned.
        • Have you checked the company’s references? Most cities are home to several carpet cleaning companies, so it’s a good idea to check their reviews and references. Look for references from people in your neighborhood with homes similar to yours.
        • What’s included in the base price? What other services does the carpet cleaning company offer? Some companies will move furniture for you, while others charge a fee for it. Some include stairs in the cost of the home’s cleaning, while others charge per step.

        What does carpet cleaning cost?

National average carpet cleaning prices range between $100 and $130. Carpet cleaning prices depend on how many square feet of carpet you want cleaned, how many rooms in one house or building will be cleaned, how stained your carpet is, how much the carpet cleaning company charges, your ZIP code, and the type of carpet you have. Cost per square foot can range from 20 cents to $1 or more, based on the above variables. Synthetic carpets are typically the least expensive to clean; natural fibers like wool cost more, as they require more care and attention, as well as more drying time. Excessive stains, challenging locations such as stairs, and accessibility also factor into your carpet cleaning price. Companies may charge a minimum service fee for cleaning a small carpet to cover their business expenses (paying employees, transporting the special equipment to your home). If your pet has repeatedly saturated the carpet with urine or if the fibers are extremely matted down, it may make more sense to completely replace your carpet than to continue to have it cleaned.

How much does it cost to clean a carpet?

Carpet cleaning costs vary depending on the type of cleaning, such as steam cleaning, and whether there are any stains that require special treatment. The main cost factors are the square footage of the carpet and the material it’s made from. The national average carpet cleaning price ranges from $100 to $130 for a typical suburban home, but steam cleaning prices start at an average of $120. In general, professional carpet cleaning ranges from an average of 20 cents to 50 cents per square foot, depending on where you live. Many companies have a minimum fee or room requirement — such as two rooms for an average of $40 each — and will charge more to clean carpeted stairs or a second floor. Finally, the carpet fiber type, density and pile will also affect the cost of cleaning; man-made fibers are stain-resistant and easier to clean, while wool carpeting is sensitive to water and requires more care.

How much does steam cleaning a carpet cost?

Several factors determine the cost of professional carpet cleaning, from the number of rooms in the home to additional carpeted areas to the products used to lift stains. The national average cost to steam clean a carpet ranges from $100 to $130. Most professional carpet cleaning companies’ rates are based on the number of rooms they clean, starting at an average base rate of $30 per room or $55 for two standard rooms and a hallway. Larger rooms may be charged as two rooms or incur a square footage fee. Carpet cleaners often charge by the step to clean a stairway as well as additional fees for closets and hallways; for example, some charge an average of $5 per step. Expect extra fees, starting at an average of $15 per stain, for lifting difficult food, pet or oil stains from carpets. Some carpet cleaning companies offer package deals to also clean furniture and throw rugs while in the home; a chair usually costs an average of $70 to be steam cleaned, and a couch costs an average of $100.
