We're very happy with the introductory work we've done with Beth, and plan to work with her more in the future after practicing what she taught us with our pup. Beth was very quick to respond, showed up on time to appointments scheduled within less than a weeks' notice, and is very easy to talk to. She didn't make us feel silly for being inexperienced with dog training, and has been so helpful and patient-- qualities you want in a dog trainer! We highly recommend Beth especially for rescue dogs with fear issues. While our pup is going to take a while getting over larger (and louder) fears, Beth's guidance has already given our rescue loads of confidence that has translated to near-perfect leash obedience. The ocean is still a little scary, but the bus and trash truck and mail man no longer are!

Jake is, by far, the strangest dog that I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting. I rescued him when he was 4 months old. His beautiful blue eyes, wrinkly face, and “I can do it myself” attitude captured my heart the moment I first met him. From what I can gather, his first few months of life were rough. He was found by the side of the road with both of his back legs broken, and the day I went to pick him up, I also learned that he was (and is) completely deaf. After my first few days with Jake, it became clear to me that he had in some way been abused. Unlike any other young puppy I’ve ever met, he was very unwelcoming to touch of any kind. To make matters worse, I quickly learned that he was not very fond of other dogs. It started off with growls and nips, and as time passed, it quickly turned into calculated attacks. I could see brief glimpses of his sweet and soft at home, but there was such a thick layer of anger covering it up. It made me so sad to see him this way. I spent months learning how to train a deaf dog, and socialize aggressive dogs. Google became my best friend. But try as I may, Jake’s aggression towards other dogs became, quite frankly, unmanageable. Eventually, I had completely given up trips to the dog park, hiking, the dog beach, and really any form of activity that offered a chance to encounter other dogs. I was sad, and Jake was visibly becoming very depressed. The quality of life for both of us had diminished, and I felt so guilty and hopeless. I felt like I had nowhere to turn. And then I met Ralf. I had tried other trainers in the past, and one had even told me that there was nothing that could be done for Jake at all. So suffice to say, things didn’t seem promising, and I didn’t have a lot of hope going in. I can’t tell you how wrong I was. Very quickly, Ralf taught me about being the leader and making Jake both respect and trust me. We learned that Jake’s aggression was actually coming from fear and not dominance as I had originally thought. All of this time, I had been treating the wrong problem! As a happy side-effect to our sessions, our walks improved (no pulling at all!), and Jake started to let me touch him in places I’d never been able to before (ears, paws, belly, etc.). He had become more affectionate, calm, and seemed much more relaxed. Then, after 2 years of failed attempts, I was shocked and amazed that within only 3 months of working together, we were able to take Jake INTO the dog park for our lessons. Soon enough he was off leash and it was only a matter of a few weeks until we saw him, for the first time EVER, actually PLAY with another dog. He was running, wrestling, and jumping just like a puppy should, and all of this without any aggression being shown. I literally started crying, right there in the middle of the dog park. The change that I have seen in Jake is nothing short of a transformation. Family members have told me that he is a new dog, and we are now taking regular trips to the dog park. I even took Jake camping with 2 other dogs and he did great! I cannot say enough about Ralf and the fantastic work that he’s done with my little canine hero. He has literally changed our lives for the better. Thank you doesn’t even begin to cover it. I fully intend to call Ralf with any and all of my future dog training needs, and highly recommend him to anyone with dog needs of any kind.

Mark is the best of the best canine trainers! We have hired our share of dog trainers over the past 30 years and none have come close to offering the outstanding approach and knowledge base that Mark brings to his clients. He really takes his time to listen to whatever issues we have and teaches us how to achieve results quickly. We have a seven month old rescue pup who lived in a garage for the first five months of her life and was never socialized around people and other dogs. Mark met "Peanut" at our home and right away she kept her distance from him, barking and feeling threatened. By the end of the first session Peanut was eating out of Mark's hand and by the end of the second session Peanut was easily going up to Mark and rolling over for him wanting a belly rub. Talk about trust...Mark has a way with dogs that we've never witnessed and he taught us more in two sessions than we could have hoped to learn in a year with someone else. Mark knows dogs and if we could give him a ten star rating we would. We look forward to working with him to help Peanut become a confident, socialized and well trained member of our family. Our ultimate goal is for her to become a therapy dog in the senior community. We can't say it enough...Mark is awesome and we highly recommend him for all your dog training needs!

Steve is an incredible, elite master trainer. He holds the key to unlocking all of your dogs' best attributes. He has done wonders for my dogs, and I have witnessed him doing even more for others. There's nothing that this man can't fix about your dog. But, you must be willing to put in the time and do what it takes to maintain. I have two mixed breeds (brother and sister) that have severe separation anxiety, when they weren't near each other. They were completely co dependent on each other, fearful and extremely sensitive to everything around them. They would whine and bark when separated. Steve had them for less than two weeks, and now they have no problem, at all being separated. He taught me how to build their confidence, and help them succeed. Which has made training them in obedience much easier. They now have the will to work, and the desire to learn more. As do I. He has inspired me so much that it has now become my passion, and I am now his apprentice. What I love most about the way that he trains, is that he is very gentle and patient with the dogs. He is by far more concerned with the dogs' well-being than anything else. He can be pretty tough on the owners, but once you come to realize why, you really can't be mad at him. The issues that your dog has, are typically there because of you. Your dog is a mirror of yourself. Once you've accepted that, you can then both change together, building the bond between you and your dog even stronger. But, you must be part of the change in order for it to work. Wendy is my senior master trainer, and I have learned so much already from both of them. They have taught me beginner and advanced obedience, behavior work, tracking, scent detection, how to show in AKC competitions, how to train movie dogs, and much more. Through the skills that I have acquired from them, I am now teaching my own classes and training dogs daily, using the same incredible methods that these amazing dog trainers have taught me. I highly recommend Steve and Wendy, and all of their trainers to anyone who truly cares for their dog.

So far Emily does a superb job. You can tell she is passionate about animal behavior. I especially appreciate and welcome her instruction on training me! I need the training more than my dog I think. My dog follows me so I think Emily can help train me and my dog and help to alter behavior to get to the best behavior my dog can achieve and represent my breed. Emily truly has a fantastic gift with animals.

About

Tom did a great job training our dog. Tom got him to listen to commands, but more importantly now he holds the commands too. Through the entire process Tom was very professional. He gave us updates almost every day during training. We are extremely impressed with the progress Tom made in just 2 weeks of working with our dog. When we came to pick him up Tom spent about 2 hours going over the training process, how to operate the e-collar remote, and going over commands with our dog. He made sure that we were trained just as well as our dog was trained. Overall, this was a great experience. I'm definitely going to be recommending Tom to any of my friends with pets in need of training.

I just rescued a 4 month old puppy. She had never walked on a lease before, was having trouble responding to her name and needed some potty training right away. Jesse came to my home to learn more about me and my dog Zoe. I signed up for sessions and immediately noticed a difference. Zoe was walking beside me, coming to me when I called her and learned to be potty trained. Jesse was great! She has years of experience and it shows. She is very pleasant and truly cares about helping you and your dog. Her methods of positive reinforcement are just that, positive! Plus the sessions are fun. I highly recommend her.

I hired her to help me with a particular behavior problem with my dog. She came to my home, saw the situation and offered several suggestions. I'm still working on the problem. Unfortunately, despite out efforts, my dog has not yet learned the new behavior. Nevertheless, Lynn has continued to keep in touch to offer suggestions.
