We worked with Beth for 2 sessions and in that short amount of time, she provided the most beneficial tools. One is the "gentle leader." If you have big strong dogs this is a must. In addition to keeping them in control on walks these help so much to overall calm the dogs. I feel comfortable and confident now walking my 2, 100lb plus dogs together, by myself. Beth is courteous, communicative and timely. Our dogs are still not perfect Angels, and we need to continue to be consistent in our training, but I feel we have the skill set to get them there. Beth didn't try to sell us on the need for a huge package of training sessions. We know and understand that it is up to us to remain diligent with our dogs. Thank you so much Beth and if Bill and I need a refresher I will be in touch😀 Also Thumbtack is how I found Beth what a great resource. I was able to read through reviews of 7 other dog trainer's profiles and find what was a great fit for us. Thank you

My dog had been acting out and I needed to find an expert on Queensland heeler behavior. Beth Jeffery of Top Dog Trainer has an outstanding knowledge of cattle dog behavior. She quickly establishes trust w/ both the owner and dog. Beth taught me in the first session approaches which were highly effective for managing my cattle dog with fear-aggression. I have had excellent experiences over the past several months w/ Beth; I highly recommend Beth for any level of dog training. I would give 10 stars were it an option.

Beth truly is the "Top Dog" trainer! My 5 year old Lab/Dane was displaying some fear aggression which was becoming problematic on walks and during outdoor activities. Beth addressed our issues head on and her years of training and experience were immediately evident. Her knowledge was incredible and I was so impressed with her training. If I ever have any future issues, she will absolutely be my first call! I highly recommend her services. Thank you again Beth for making our walks enjoyable again!!

I have an English mastiff whom I was reading wrong. So I ran into a girl who knew Paula and swore that she is the best with dogs and she also said Paula brought down the euthanize rate at the local shelters. I was skeptical because I have never had a dog trainer come to work with my dogs. My mastiff was a little different from my other dogs so I was in need of someone who knew what they were doing. When Paula came to meet djanga, the dog was doing her normal barking and showed some of her nervousness. Paula just came to just be around her pursay, and it was just so djanga could see that she's not a threat or anyone to be worried about. Paula has the most open personality and it's like these dogs just feel that vibe and soak it up. Djanga doesn't feel comfortable around most adults but she loved Paula from day two haha. I know that Paula can solve all dogs issues if not strive to give her all trying to. She would come in and we would take djanga out come back in let her chew on an antler to release her tension then go back out. It worked, I thought my dog was a goner. Djanga was getting so much better and Paula would bring different things to introduce her too, ( including her daughter). I bought a super nice leash off of her that djanga worked really well with and a few antlers. Djanga got to where she was looking for her weekly tennis ball in Paula's bag and was super happy to see her. That's not the only good thing though she is very adamant about working the dog and getting them to where they need to be to feel comfortable in their environments and just calm no stress. She did that for djanga and I'm so thankful for that. Djanga today is a better dog then she's ever been I still use her tools to this day and it has made the world so much easier to handle for her. Paula is a great person and the dogs love her but she is very patient and calm with them. Her rates are super affordable, and she will come to you where ever you are. If anyone has the chance to work with her or her work with their dog, it'll be the most wonderful experience you will ever have with a dog trainer. The only thing I would change is I would live to see Paula travel and help dogs around the world I know she could make a difference in our shelters today.

Paula is an amazing dog trainer! She has provided me with so much new and relevant information that has been crucial in helping me with my foster dog. Thanks to her tips and her information on dog behavior, I have had great success with my dog's crate training and her behavior towards guests at the door. I highly recommend Paula to anyone who is in need to of help. She is more than a "teach them to sit" type of trainer -- she understands dog behavior and carefully explains how humans can work with dogs to give them skills to succeed.

Yes, my dog loved her more than any trainer we have worked on before. I do think if we implement her insights we will have good results. We are still just beginning implementation as she met with us just a few days ago. It went so well we have scheduled a follow up.

In our house, we have 2 dogs, Shepherd mix and Mastiff/Pitbull and 3 people, parents and daughter. I knew it was imperative that we all get on the same page and that we address the issues at the place where they happen. Ben, from Devotion to Dogs, was terrific, from being flexible on the date, Memorial Day, to working with both dogs at the same time and the 3 people! He commands the attention of the dogs and the owners with a firm and calming hand. He is very knowledgable on pack behavior which helps him explain the dogs' perspective on the situation. Once we had that, the solutions made sense, even to our 13 year old daughter. Before Ben came, getting in and out of the house was a 3 ring circus. By the time Ben finished, we were all able to easily walk the dogs in and out of the house. We also needed help on leash walking, staying off the bed, going up and down the stairs politely and being able to open the front door without worrying what the dogs would do. Ben made sure that by the time he left we were capable in all those areas. He did not watch the clock to see how long he had been here. He worked with us until we felt the issues were addressed. I would readily recommend Devotion to Dogs for any dog training needs. Thanks Ben for helping bring calm back to our pack!

I would recommend Ben to anyone looking for a dog trainer. From the moment he walked in the door, he had instant control of our crazy dog. In one session with Ben, I had command of the crazy dog! He quickly and clearly imparted the basics to me (trained me) so that I could continue with the program of training. He covers walking on a lease, entering and exiting thresholds, greeting strangers, behavior in the house, etc. Ben is personable, well dressed, and a pleasure to work with. He has earned my highest recommendation!

The most amazing Dog Trainer I have ever met. Not your run of the mill obedience trainer. He changes the dogs behavior and way of thinking. I foster for a dog rescue and have referred him to adoptors. Many are skeptical that things can change in just 1 appointment but always come back with big thank you's. If you are looking for a trainer you already love your dog. So do your pet a favor and call Ben!

Above and beyond all expectations I had. I had a 1.5 year dog was an aggressor, and would start fights with dogs constantly. She was able to socialize my dog with other dogs and stopped all the aggression. Not only did the training work, but she would pick up and drop off my dog while I was at work. She has a through training program and was able to teach obedience and patients to my dog. I would recommend to anyone who needs helps. This is a trainer that cares and loves dogs!

Sarah was so wonderful and sensitive to my dogs triggers and fears. She turned my dog who was feral in Mexico for years into a confident house pet in no time! Sarah does a wonderful job at explaining exactly how to communicate with your dog efficiently and exactly what we are teaching our dogs to do in a controlled environment will translate into scenarios at home and on walks. With my personal dog, who had never worn a collar or walked on grass before at the age of 4 yrs old, Sarah had her sitting in a matter of minutes, and after a few short weeks, I had a wonderful dog that would pay attention to me and she is always checking in with me to see what I want her to do. Sarah is a wonderful trainer, and her group lessons are very personal, where she learns about everyone dogs and their issues and teaches us how to overcome our individual concerns.

Sarah is one of the most compassionate and empathetic dog trainers I know. I interned with her to become a dog trainer, myself, but had been training dogs for years prior. Some insights she have me into techniques I had taken for granted were remarkable. Her methods elicit results so quickly. I get real pleasure out of just watching her work and it has made me a better trainer as well. I own and train the Guinness Worls Record surfing dog, Abbie Girl.

I met Mel when I enrolled my 7-month old labradoodle, Daisy, in her puppy training class. I hadn't had a dog in over 10 years and wanted a well-behaved dog as a companion if I am going to keep her for her lifetime. Mel's method is positive training with treats and repetition. Daisy thrived in the 6-week course and did outstanding during her puppy graduation. I then decided to enroll her into Mel's intermediate dog training class because I still had issues with how Daisy acted in public. It's been 3 weeks into the dog training and I can really see Daisy changing into a better behaved dog. She now knows how to heel when walking, stay for long periods, sit at a corner during her walks, stay until I release her to come to continue with our walk, doesn't go ballistic when she sees another dog & owner walking on the other side of the street and lets go of things she picks up during our walks (like rocks, paper, sticks etc) with the "Leave it" command. Mel really takes the time to explain each new step/lesson during each class. And there are no "Bad Dogs" in training, Always Positive. If I have questions between classes, I just email Mel and she always gets back to me to put me back on track. I definitely will be recommending Mel and her dogpanion dog training to my friends. Thanks, Carolyn & Daisy

Mel is a terrific and patient dog trainer. She trains the owners how to speak to the dogs to get the best results through positive reinforcement. We went back for a higher level class, and were very happy to see how quickly our dog, Max, was able to learn new commands and become calmer!

I bought a dog (german shepherd puppy) from Kris a couple years ago for sport work. He set me up with training and my dog is THE best trained dog I have ever owned. She has a balanced and stable temperament on top of fantastic obedience and protection. I am so incredibly happy with her and Kris is extremely knowledgeable in dog behavior and dog training of all aspects. I recommend Taylor made Working Dogs for any source of dog training or buying.

I went to Taylor Made Working Dogs for help with competition obedience, and a few behavior issues with my 2 year old female German shepherd. Kris Taylor has not only helped me see and understand what was really going on, but has also led me towards my goals. His understanding of dog behavior and how they learn is a rare find in any aspect of training (if your looking for pet obedience, behavior modification, protection or competition).

I got really lucky when I found Britta. I had heard of "clicker training" and thought it would be a lot of work but it was tons of fun and Britta made everything a game. He responded beautifully and loved having her come over. I had never tried some of her training exercises. For example, I would sit quietly and drop some treats on a mat to have Sammy relax and sit quietly. This worked like a charm. We also used high value treats like cream cheese and chicken that kept him very motivated. Sammy has been so focussed on me since our training with Britta. I'm certainly going to have her come back for some "tune ups" with Sammy. She's the most professional motivating dog trainer I've met.

Britta is an excellent dog trainer who demonstrates amazing patience with her canine and human clients. She did a great job teaching my beagle not to jump out of the car and teaching my terrier not to go crazy when people come to the door. Britta is very affectionate to the animals she works with and knows how and when to reinforce with treats and other positive feedback. She also has background working at the zoo with an assortment of animals. She is dependable and knowledgeable.

We've taken several of Britta's puppy training "good manners" classes, as well as using Britta as a trusted dog sitterl. She is a wonderful trainer and our dog has come SO far since we started working with Britta. I would unhesitatingly recommend Britta to anyone who loves their dog and just wants a good training experience that is built around positive reinforcement.

Mike worked with dog, Rocco, and I to prepare for the CGC test. He is not only an excellent trainer, who has perfected his skill set and demonstrates passion combined with eternal patience, he is very personable and caring. He was just as invested in Rocco's success as I was. I could not recommend him more highly. We hope to continue training with Mike and go on to take therapy dog and maybe service dog tests in the future.

She did a great job to train my dog. She is very patient. My puppy is very difficult to train. She used 2 hours to led her walk down my driveway without pulling. Made her understand "come" means come to me. Afterall, she only charge me one session which the original planned time is 1 hour while she actually spent 2 hours to do the job. I will recommend her to puppy owner particular those need special attentions.

I needed help with my newly adopted 3.5 yr. old beautiful, strong-willed pit bull terrier. After being rejected by another trainer, Nikki @ Sky's the Limit agreed to take on the challenge. After 3 weeks, Izzy successfully graduated from her basic obedience training a better dog. She will follow commands now. The issue now is getting the humans to become better "parents ". Thank goodness there are 3 training sessions for us as well. Nikki was great with my girl and is always a phone call or text away. Her calm and reassuring demeanor has taken the fear and anxiety out of the situation helping me believe that I can be a trusted Alpha in no time at all; as long as I am consistent. It has been a great experience and I highly recommend Nikki and Sky's the Limit to anyone who needs or wants to teach an old dog new tricks.

We brought our very wild border collie puppy, Max, to Pawsitive Principles for puppy training thinking this would be quite the sports challenge for Bree. We were amazed at how quickly she was able to gain Max's trust and attention. At the second class, Bree was able to teach Max to lie down, using no words or treats, only her eyes, in about 15 seconds. I was shocked (and lost a bet) to say the least. Classes were run with logical progression. Training was tailored to each dog in the class based on their current abilities. Both dogs and owners had a lot of fun. Bree has the rare ability to understand dogs so she can help owners train their pets in a kind, positive manner which makes it enjoyable for all! I would highly recommend any training at Pawsitive Principles.

I have had the pleasure of working with Bree at Pawsitive Principles with several of my dogs. She has assisted me with private training to work on home based issues as well as group classes. I have utilized her recommendations for a rattlesnake training course for three of my dogs and it was a great life saving experience. I hve also taken her Rally training classes and it is the best training and bonding experience I have had with my dogs. I highly recommend Pawsitive Principles for all types of training as well as dog sport activities. Your four legged friend will also thank you!

We have used Greg/Force-Free Dog Services since getting our dog 2 years ago. He led puppy training classes for us with incredible results and we then started using him for dog walking and dog sitting services. Our Rhodesian Ridgeback loves spending time with Greg and his dogs and always come back completely exhausted. Greg also takes the time to reinforce training when he is with our dog, so he even comes back better behaved! Given Greg's background and education, he is very helpful in giving advice and answer questions about our dogs diet, nutrition, behavior and overall health. My husband and I travel often and it is very helpful that Greg is available and willing to come pick up/drop off our dog whenever needed. It is comforting to know that our dog is in a loving home being well looked after, when we are out of town.

Excellent dog trainer. Adopted a dog with a lot of issues last spring. Aggressive toward other animals, lacked basic dog skills and was about 5-6 years old. Saw results after first month of classes. Think we did about 6 months of classes. My dog is able to play with other dogs, walk on a leash, housebroken and finally knows his name. Strongly recommend Greg for any one who needs this dog trained. He has also watched my dogs and I've never had an issue.

Greg is a talented and supportive dog trainer for dogs and their parents alike. Much of his teaching is based on the philosophy contained in Karen Pryor’s book, Don’t Shoot The Dog! We have found his understanding of what makes dogs tick at different stages of their development indispensable in training our young male mixed breed.

Shelly is the best! I brought my very fearful mastiff/pit puppy to her at about 3 months. We went through Shelly's Star Puppy and Canine Good Citizen classes. Sophie just turned 1 and is a different dog. She is friendly, happy and on her way to earning her Community Dog certification. I have seen many dogs come through the classes that were "off the chain" and not listening or behaving at all. Shelly teaches the handler, and the dog, how to correct the undesirable behaviors. Training takes time but if you stick with it, it will work! Thanks for everything Shelly!

Owning a Siberian husky makes for a hyper dog, needing alot of attention... from the very beginning I was taught all there is to know about reading, home life, feeding, controlling, and training my crazy dog! I look at other owners out there who everyday and I only wish they would train with Ed as well!! By far the best experience I have ever had and I will be a lifetime client!

We had a 17 month puppy that was out of control. Well in fact he was in control of our family. The last straw was me tackling him in the front yard to keep him from running out of the house again. We hired Peter Levy to help us with this adorable wonderful stubborn puppy. Within minutes of Peter walking into the house, he looked at our puppy and gave him some type of signal or vibe that he was alpha. From that point on, our puppy changed. He became calmer and more attentive. Peter taught us how to gain control over our puppy and get him to behave better. We learned from him how to be above the puppy in the pecking order. His instructions were very insightful and made so much sense when you realize how pack animals work. He has an instant connection with a dog, and is able to help us get the good behaviors that we need from our dog. We highly recommend Peter as a dog trainer. He is amazing!!!

I adopted 2 small shelter dogs, one is a year old and the other 2. They came to me wild! No potty training scared of everything, chasing the cat, not walking on leash, I could go on and on. The very next day after Peter trained us the dogs calmed down 98 percent. Yes you read that right. Peter trained my Mom and I how to let the dogs know we are in charge. A week later and we are still working on the potty training and Bo still wants to chase the cat but I am able to enjoy them all in the same room as long as Bo can not reach the cat. Peters prices are more than fair. Personally he needs to charge more. Pete is available by email and phone with any questions we have. In the past I have taken my dogs to Petsmart for more $ and 6 weeks I learned more in one day with Peter. If you are looking for help with your dog look no further than Peter Levy.
