I have been having weekly Spanish lessons from Spanish55 for almost 2 months now. I greatly appreciate the one on one lessons with my Spanish coach and how each week we are able to take on new subjects. What I have been learning will help me both in my work life and social life. I highly recommend giving Spanish55 a try!
With a growing business, especially throughout LATAM, Spanish comprehension quickly became a must for me. I have been a student of Fabian for over 4 years and his coaching style has enabled me to not only comprehend Spanish, but also has accelerated my conversational proficiency. Fabiano has also been instrumental in translating many time sensitive legal documents from Spanish to English. I would highly recommend Fabian for Spanish lessons regardless of proficiency and also recommend his translation services.
Lynne is great! I was unsure about trying yet another Spanish tutor, but it was necessary as my girls were not doing well with the never ending train of substitute teachers the school was giving them for their class. Lynne brought it all together so that it made sense and my girls could finally get some continuity. I don't know what we would have done with out her. In just a couple of weeks they were on track and their grades were back up where they should have been. Lynne didn't even need to know what the class was doing, she spoke with my girls and started to build on what they knew. It worked and we are very happy.
This is a great service and I highly recommend Laura Valdes as a Spanish tutor! She has the ability to customize her tutoring to the needs of the student and provides excellent support.
I do not take Spanish lessons from Rosa, but attend the Club De Lectura book club. I love it! Rosa keeps the discussion going by excellent questions, but never takes over. She also gives us important information about the authors we read in order to enhance our understanding. I am the poorest Spanish speaker in the group, but my opinions are never made to feel less valuable. I love just hearing the good Spanish of the other members and learning more each week. I would recommend any endeavor presented by Rosa most highly. You won't be disappointed!
Señor Chango made learning Spanish fun! 20 years later, I can still sing a song about speaking on the telephone. He has a passion for teaching, creative methods for presenting the information and a joyful personality.
I have been taking classes at Pura Buena Onda for about four months now, and I am so happy I found Carolina and her wonderful classes! It has been amazing for me, in terms of improving the Spanish skills I had, learning more (much more), and getting that all-important chance to practice! Caro is a wonderful instructor who knows both how to offer a really great lesson and to facilitate wonderful conversation. She leads, encourages, and corrects us with sensitivity and understanding--and a great sense of humor--so that we feel more at ease with the language and truly improve. And it is always so much fun--she uses entertaining games and conversation starters that make the class something truly to look forward to! I love to go to class, and am always amazed at how the time flies by. Wonderful atmosphere, fun people and a great instructor--this is an amazing way to improve your Spanish!
I've been having tutoring sessions with Elena for the last couple of weeks now and I can already see an improvement in my ability to understand and speak Spanish. She's a highly knowledgeable and patient tutor, and even when I make a mistake, she'll explain what to say and then connect it back to what we're already talking about. In that way, Elena is also really thorough, and makes sure that I understand a concept before moving on to something new. I also found her teaching style to be unique and really helpful, in that we'll actually have a conversation in Spanish, which would lead to a lesson or how to fix this or that. Although somewhat unorthodox, I found it extremely helpful, since I not only learn grammar, or verb conjugation, but I actually get to practice what I learned in real conversation. Since I've always been one to focus on the real applications of things, using real conversation is really helpful and makes the lessons all the more engaging and exciting. The pacing of lessons is also really nice and I'm often surprised by how much we actually cover in an hour. She´s the best Spanish tutor I've ever had and I'd highly recommend her to anyone trying to learn or become better at Spanish.
I typically meet with Cara once a week(schedule permitting) for French lessons. We discuss everything from grammar, native phrases, business, and most importantly I feel prepared for my trip to France. I highly recommend Cara for anyone who is a Francophile, planning a trip to the City of Lights, or someone who wants to enhance their knowledge of the language. Better yet, Cara can do lessons in Spanish, Italian, as well as piano. She is a great tutor, kind and patient and you will find your time spent with her to be rewarding!! I highly recommend!
Laura is a very dedicated tutor, showsbcompassion, encouragement and leads by example. Her over all teaching techniques make learning at any age fun and carefree. Thanks for the pletheria of knowledge.
Excellent Spanish classes, I will recommend it to friends. It helped me in speaking, writing and understanding Spanish. The teacher is great, responsive, patient and very flexible. I have learned so much Spanish since I started. The lessons are fun, diverse and interesting!
I provide private Spanish tutoring to individuals and groups of all levels, from beginners to college level, including teachers, HS students, SDSU and UCSD students, border patrol and air marshal agents, business owners, doctors, nurses, travelers, retirees, psychologists, lawyers, and individuals of diverse occupations and ethnicities. I design a specific teaching curriculum for each type of student. I love languages, so I adapt to each student's accent, and I try to make it fun using different methods and techniques and expressions that are used everyday. I work both with conversation and grammar. I can teach via online or in person, at your place or mine, whatever is more convenient for you. I also recommend books if it's necessary or provide my own material if you are a beginner or have a special request (for job, travel, etc.) I also read Spanish authors novels, stories, or books with advanced students, and we discuss the subject of a specific paragraph or chapter. I am a very creative person, and I help my students in the best way I see possible based on my continue observation of their abilities and skills as well as their mood and personality.
Being bilingual is a plus in today's workplace and I want to see you accomplish more than you can imagine. It is difficult to find the time and motivation, but I can assure that my interactive lessons will help you reach your goals.

I'm from Venezuela. My first language is Spanish, and my second language is English. I actually work as a volunteer at The Preuss School UCSD, supporting the Spanish teacher for 10th and 12th grade.
I have lived and taught English abroad in Costa Rica and Brazil, as well as traveled throughout Europe and South America. I am fluent in Spanish and Portuguese. For the past couple years, I have been teaching kids classes (as well as tutoring adults) anything from creative writing to art, Spanish and geography. I am a very enthusiastic and creative person, which helps me bring very unique and fun activities to class. I always accommodate my lessons based on the student's level and specific need or interest just like for example, if you need to learn English for business or work or perhaps you need to learn some conversational Spanish for traveling. Everyone is unique so I like to make all of my lessons unique as well. No matter what, we always have a good time!
I am a decent, educated, and eloquent Spanish speaker. My degree is social worker. I am reliable at these times: six days a week from Mondays to Saturdays.
Just a soon-to-be high school graduate who is saving money for college through what I know best, which is giving lessons in Spanish, English, and guitar.
I am originally from South America and have an education at the University of Washington as a romance language major. I enjoy helping others to learn Spanish using the Capretz Method. You learn the language as a child learns to talk. It is fun and efficient.
