I have just reached the 12 year mark of doing Magic, and spectators and Magicians alike were astounded how good I am after only 4 years of Magic. It was a passion above all passions for me! I discovered Magic while studying to be a Structural Engineer and essentially had to balance studying both simultaneously. After working in the corporate world for a number of years, I have taken the leap to being a full-time entertainer and I am so happy I did! When you book me, you'll know why! The wonderment and joy it brings people. As children, everything appears to be Magic. When something can't be explained, little kids often give the only explanation they know, Magic. Now that thought may be influenced from the movies, and cartoons they watch, but nonetheless, that is what they revert to. Magic is that bridge that brings an adult back into their childhood, because with all the knowledge and experience an adult has, when something happens right before their very eyes that defies EVERYTHING they have come to know, once again, it appears to be nothing less than pure Magic!

Derek did a great job giving a small family gathering a wonderful, up-close-and-personal magic experience. During the planning process, Derek was accommodating, communicative and responsive, without being obtrusive. At the event, he was friendly, funny and engaging. Most importantly, he wowed us with several of his tricks. After he finished, I left to go get food for the evening and when I came back 20 minutes later, everyone was still talking about Derek, his show and figuring out how in the world he pulled off some of the things he did. We were talking about it most of the evening. Amazing!

Derek performed at my 50th birthday party. He arrived early and stayed late at no additional cost. This party meant a lot to me. It was the first time I've thrown a party of this magnitude and I was nervous about the guests all having fun. Derek entered the room and almost instantly I was hearing applause, squealing and laughter from the guests! He was charismatic and presented well but most of all he was MAGIC! Truly masterful! People were blown away at the things he did. An example, he popped a balloon and it turned into a bottle of wine before all our eyes! I will not tell you more tricks because I don't want to spoil it for you, but believe it, he was the REAL DEAL! People told me he was "America's Got Talent" material. Thanks to Derek my 50th wasn't tinged with the sadness of saying goodbye to my 40's. It was an epic party that everyone is still talking about!

Derek is AWESOME!! I've seen him at a couple of venues and even hired him to perform at a Halloween party a few years back. His personality and stage presence are great, and he is a lot of fun to be around. He is extremely personable and his natural delivery ranges from comedic to thoughtful. I've always been a fan of magic and illusionism, and Derek hits the mark. I highly suggest him!

I've hired Derek several times now for events I was the entertainment director for.. Each time he not only impressed me but also my clients. He performed some of the best close up magic I've ever seen! Many people were raving to me about his repertoire of tricks and are still asking me for his card! He had my groups laughing and applauding all evening..I'll definitely use his talents again. Very highly recommended!!

I know that most people would be split hearing that an event would have a magician as the entertainment because of the range of talent that may show up. I can say that Derek far exceeded my expectations. Whether it was larger stage effects or close up effects, he delivered them beautifully in a way that engaged the audience and was entertaining without being "showy". This made them feel real rather than a trick. If you are lucky enough to have him at an event or book him, my favorite effect which was probably one of his least flashy but best exudes his personality and showmanship, is a close up effect that I called "the what you desire most card effect." Thank you again Derek for the wonderful show and I hope to see again in the future! James
