I hold a BA in vocal performance from UCSD, an AA in music from Cabrillo College in the Bay Area, and a technical certificate in musical theater from the American Musical and Dramatic Academy in Los Angeles. Reviews " I took piano and voice lessons in Mr. Bruce's studio and also online, via Skype. Both experiences were great, and was really convenient to do the lessons on Skype. Mr. Bruce is an excellent teacher, and he is very patient. I recommend him to anyone who wants to learn to play an instrument or sing." -- Kat " Mr. Bruce is a wonderful teacher! He is talented, always enthusiastic, and extremely motivational! Each lesson is designed specifically for our daughter Kelsey's ability and desired genre of music! Kelsey began guitar and voice lessons in the Coronado studio and is now taking lessons via Skype since our move to Virginia. The lessons are convenient, affordable, and productive. We are excited to be able to still have Mr. Bruce as her guitar and vocal teacher!" -- Amy " I came to Mr. Bruce as a beginner in piano. I actually learned on my Casio keyboard. In only 3 months, I was playing and singing a song I love called "Angel" by Sarah McLachian. Mr. Bruce got me into music I really enjoy! My friends loved my performance of the song!" -- Katrina "My son has taken guitar and voice lessons with Mr. Bruce for the last year. We are pleased with classes and the improvement we've seen in comparison to a previous instructor. Mr. Bruce is punctual and extremely respectful of the time and money it takes to provide lessons. Mr. Bruce can be counted on to be both friendly and professional. He comes prepared for lessons and expects the same of his students. If you are serious about learning and improving your skills, we highly recommend him." -- Christina "Steven Bruce's fun and patient teaching style rocks. I see how his bright, fun-loving personality and knowledge of music for piano makes him a top choice as my daughter's music instructor." -- Anthony " Steven Bruce, a patient, gifted teacher has supervised my studies on guitar with good humor, wit and flexibility. Nina received her bachelor's of music degree in piano performance whilst expanding her performance scope outside college walls as a vocalist and director. The joy of musical direction lead her to acquiring positions with several large choirs and musical theatre productions over the last four years, until recently imparting on a 1 1/2 year break to focus on composition and recording. She is ambitious in aiming to release three albums over the next 18 months, and she expresses graciousness to have this time to restore artistic notions from the past and focus her creative energies. She is currently teaching piano, voice, and accordion privately at her home studio in North Park and her business in 4S Ranch. My positive attitude and friendly encouragements set me apart from traditional knuckle-rapping teachers of old. I truly love what I do and it shows! ♥️ My favorite teaching moments occur while I'm watching my students succeed at something that they've had to work very hard on to achieve. The Music Lessons Studio by Paul Burd

    (10 reviews)

I was taking piano lessons for about two years when I was 8 and then it became boring for me and I quit. Now, as an adult, I got a strong desire to be able to play piano and improvise. My friends, whose children were taking piano lessons for awhile, recommended their teacher Paul Burd. I was impressed and decided to start lessons with Paul. In the beginning it was hard for me and only patience and understanding of Paul stopped me from quitting again. I love his simple approach which makes difficult concepts easy to understand and I wish I had Paul as my teacher when I was young. Though my schedule is busy I find time to practice piano every day and I really love my progress. Thanks Paul for your support.
