When I decided I wanted to start over and learn classical guitar from a professional teacher I went hunting for a great teacher. Peter is smart. He is both a highly skilled player and a talented teacher. He is dedicated to teaching guitar vs teachers who don’t primarily play guitar or teachers who don’t have any training in guitar pedagogy. Jeff Dewine is superb, you are a lucky if you can work with him. He gave private guitar lessons to my two boys and myself and he was phenomenal. My kids are 7 and 10 and I am in my fifties, all starting from absolute zero. He had to teach three different styles, but he is made for this. He is extremely patient with the kids and always encouraging, and he is quick to adapt his teaching method and language to the student. He is an accomplished musician and I know that I am a pretty slow student, but he never makes me feel dumb or guilty. He always finds something you are doing right, and builds on that. He is also very responsive and generous with his time and he goes above and beyond to make sure you get the help that you need, even outside of his teaching schedule. I totally recommend him to anyone.
