Fabulous Homes of San Diego
About this pro
Cheryl really transformed our 4 bed 2 bath Mira Mesa 1979 track dark home into something quite honestly... fabulous! We wanted to add a family room and a small in law suite (-kitchen), and she took that idea and with the architect (Hi Wally!) they came with plans that was really transformative. We ended up doing a complete home remodel, and our family room turned into an open kitchen/family room. The space is so fluid, the rooms really flow quite gracefully. Our home is now a modern 5 bed 3 bath fabulous home with lots of transom windows/french doors that allow the natural light to illuminate the entire place. The sub contractors she brought on were primarily wonderful! Shout out to Nacho (Plumber), Jeff (Concrete), Jesus (Painter), Framer Guy (didn't get his name, but was just as amazing), and Keith (HVAC) are the ones to come to mind but honestly, everyone was really great. I think this really does go to show that Cheryl knows what she is doing, and brings the best to do the job! If there were any kinks she always answered the phone and was quick to get a solution going. They were working hard 6 and sometimes 7 days a week. We started thinking of doing the remodel back in October of 2017, and interviewed lots of General Contractors (10 to be exact), we decided to go with Cheryl January 2018-- Wally (architect) came out to our home and started to do the plans, we received the city's approval of our plans and started construction on March 27 2018, and we passed the city's final inspection July 17, 2018. There are things that need to be done here and there, and suggested for a month to pass by to see if anything else needs to added to the punch list for minor fixes. It was a big project, and a scary leap of faith to take, to trust someone to get the job done well. I am so happy we took that leap with Cheryl. She was always available to take phone calls and you can tell she was truly emotionally invested in the project. I will say that our project was so big that there were bumps in the road along the way, but I believe the open communication is key. Be mindful and aware of what budget you have in mind as well. There were two change orders to the original contract (not bad at all considering how big the project was), just make sure to add the contractors fee to them both so there are no surprises. Be clear with what you want, and she will give it to you.Jul 28, 2018Verified
I am temporarily modifying this review based on a promise from Fab Homes to fix the flooring issues. The 2 star rating takes into account some good faith that Fab Homes will follow through with their promise but only after an independent consultant verified there were many issues with the floor installation.Apr 10, 2017VerifiedCheryl C.'s reply
Fabulous Homes is the one who hired the Independent Consultant in order to do a professional job.
My husband and I hired Cheryl to completely update our 1958 family home. She did everything she we asked and finished in a very timely manner. Workers were professionals and very clean and very accommodating to us since we were living on site. We are very happy with our newly remodeled home.Jan 15, 2017VerifiedCheryl C.'s reply

Thank You Connie, This was the first home trailer I have done and it was a lot of fun making something beautiful in such a small space. Cheryl
Cheryl helped me remodel our hall bath. It was completed in only a week which is impressive! Cherly has great design taste, pushes her subcontractors to complete the project on time, and remedies issues very quickly (such as replacing a tub that was ordered when it was clear that it would be too big for the space, or modifying a drawer in the vanity to account for the old plumbing).Feb 11, 2015Verified
