October 21, 2014 To Whom It May Concern: Calvin S. Kiomegne has been a volunteer here at the Western Addition Community Technology Center since December 2009. We are located in the San Francisco Western Addition Neighborhood, particularly the Fillmore District. San Francisco's African American community has suffered from crime, poverty and low expectations to succeed in academics. The Western Addition Community Technology Center was established to bridge the digital divide and has offered training to all aged groups. We have given special attention to those students needing additional classroom work support. Like many nonprofit organizations with this focus on youth, attracting talented volunteers is one of the keys to our success. Calvin has more than satisfied all expectations needed in this endeavor. Many of the students of this community were not achieving the success necessary to advance to more than a service base employment opportunity. Calvin's ability to make complex math and science details easy to understand and retain has led to a significant number of students from this community to enjoy learning math from pre-algebra through calculus beyond their own expectations. Their new found love for solving complex equations has given them the ability to achieve success in their classes. From my personal observation, I believe that Calvin has demonstrated proper academic coaching of youth in this high need student population. Please feel free to contact us for any additional information you need. Respectfully, Mr. N. Felton Cogell Director, WACTC

Amarnath Santhanam tutored my 12-year-old son in two math subjects, Algebra II and Trigonometry. His knowledge and command of material, his art of explaining most difficult subjects clearly and playfully, his ability to inspire a student and make him continuously interested and fascinated in the study -- made his classes an exciting experience for my son who considered Amarnath the teacher he has ever had. We will be delighted to invite Amarnath to tutor other math and science disciplines. He is a top-notch pedagogue.

I have learned a great deal from Sushir, from working with him on projects to being tutored by him. He has helped me gain understanding in college level math and science which greatly improved my grades and proficiency in the subject. One thing that stands out while working with Sushir is that he makes the environment personalized and is very adept at explaining problem solving techniques. I would recommend working with Sushir, he is amazing to work with!@

George has been my mentor for many years now and he is very dedicated to his work. He is passionate about the subjects he has studied and tutors, and it is evident in his teaching. Outside of the many hours we have spent together preparing for tests, George has spent time with me working on my own Senior Project. Thanks to his engineering expertise, I was able to complete an Arduino project that later placed in a Pan-Asian expo. A fantastic person and a better mentor, George has helped shape my future and my career. I would recommend George to any student - no matter their skill level. George helped me understand basic concepts for topics I was confused about, and also helped me further my advanced knowledge in high level mathematics courses. He is passionate about his work and will take as much time as required to help a student understand his work. He has gone out of his way to help me with countless problems. He is easy to reach at many times of the day (when he's not busy with work), and will always get back to you. I recommend George to any student looking to catch up or get ahead in their math or science classes.

The best part of working with Angela is that she is very careful about teaching you in the simplest way possible. As an International student junior in computer science classes in college, I had a hard time understanding the lectures in class, so i would get weekly tutoring from Angela. She is not like an irresponsible tutor who will just tell you how to solve your homework and be done. Instead, she asks you a lot of questions and leads you to think until you get the right answer. It is really awesome. Also, Angela's bilingual teaching is great. She is very fluent in Chinese and we mostly used Chinese in class because I am a Chinese international student.

For the last four years, Dr. Chang tutored me in trigonometry, chemistry, physics, calculus and statistics. I found his teaching style to be straightforward and his lessons thorough, with lots of examples; he clearly knows his subjects well. He is also a helpful individual; on several occasions, he was willing to stay up until midnight to help me study for upcoming exams. I definitely owe my success in my subject tests, honors and AP classes to him. I would recommend Dr. Chang to anyone needing a math/science tutor.

Best tutor I have ever had hands down! I am a college student and I was struggling in my math classes and thought I was never going to pass them, but Madeline was so clear and helpful when helping me understand the concepts and the formulas! She made math become easier to do and I passed all of my classes with As! She even checked up on me to see how my progress is going on her own time through texts, and if I was struggling, she even helped me over Skype! I highly recommend her for anyone struggling in math and physics, even if you cannot stand the subject, Madeline makes them interesting and you'll feel proud of your progress! She will keep you interested and gives great feedback and strives to make you the best you can be!

We have been very blessed by inGenius! Our daughter was struggling with precalculus , and with the help provided by our inGenius tutor- she is improving her grades each quarter. She is a more confident student. We are very pleased with the professional way Paula handles her business. The billing system is user friendly and she gives a detailed description of what is going on in the tutoring session. Paula is very approachable, if I have a question, she gets back to me very quickly. We are planning to continue our relationship with our tutor and inGenius for the remainder of this school year and beyond.. If I could ask for anything, it would be meeting locations closer to central Concord.

    About

I have been a full time teacher for four years, and have been offering private tutoring packages for 6 years. My clients have seen tremendous improvement in their academics and self confidence. I try to make genuine friendships with my students and their families to offer the most personalized tutoring experience possible. I specialize in reading, writing, and English language lessons, but also have experience tutoring and teaching math, science and social studies. I also have experience working with a wide range of special learning needs. Check out my website to learn more about my experience and my passions in education!

    About

Having been fascinated with the inner workings of programs from a young age, I take joy in constructing my own within several platforms. I would be more than happy to teach those with the same passion for computer science. Languages I have worked on include Java, C++, Ruby and HTML. In regard to teaching these subjects, I have experience in the past teaching elementary school kids how to program their own robots. Your school assignments will seem just as easy to you in no time! I can also offer tutoring for Japanese, having been raised in a Japanese household and attended the San Francisco Japanese Language Class for over 10 years. I was also a teacher aide for AP Japanese at my local high school, so I know firsthand what challenges students' face when learning this particular language. With these experiences, I can teach Japanese like no other tutor can. I look forward to further correspondence!
