I have over 15 years experience teaching all levels of flutists: beginners as young as 6; advanced high school students interested in going pro; adult beginners; adult amateurs; and professional doublers (saxophone/clarinet players who also play flute).
I focus on each student's individual strengths and tailor my teaching style to their needs and interests. I have worked with many young beginners and have developed unique ways to address the common challenges of learning the flute, with a focus on keeping things fun! At the same time, I have the skills and experience to delve into the intricacies and nuances of advanced playing.
My extensive, high-level performing background strengthens my teaching ability and sets me apart from other teachers. Ive freelanced with major orchestras (San Francisco Symphony, Saint Louis Symphony, Buffalo Philharmonic, and Utah Symphony) and can be heard on multiple Naxos Label recordings.
