I have had a wonderful experience training with Anthony at God's Gym! He tailors each work out to my abilities, challenges me to incrementally work harder to build strength, but does not push me beyond my abilities or risk injury. Work outs are challenging, get my heart pumping and leave me with the "good" muscle soreness for a few days. There is minimal downtime in the 30 minute sessions, thus there is no wasted time. This contrasts to my experience during training sessions at other gyms. I feel that these sessions are consistently higher yield compared to my other gym experiences. Anthony, himself, is awesome. He is kind, patient, has a great sense of humor. He is VERY encouraging. He provides nutritional guidance specific for your goals. My schedule can be quite variable, and he has consistently accommodated this so that I could make as many training sessions as possible. The entire team at God's gym is very welcoming and supportive. A great environment, and an amazing community that I am now happy to participate in! Also, I would recommend that those considering this gym should not be "turned off" by the name if they are not religious, people of faith, Christian, etc. This is a comfortable and welcoming place for ALL people to train. :)
Ive been working with John for little over a month and Ive seen results. Ive lost almost 10lbs. He is very responsive and answers all my questions. Im picky eater which makes it hard to come up with meal plan but he did and tailored to my food likes this way I dont feel like giving up. I recommend him if your looking for help with nutrition. He is responsive thru texts which is always helpful with my busy schedule. He also checks your food log which i like it keeps me honest and on top of it.
John knows his stuff. I went to him for a couple sessions to get tips on form for compound lifts (squats, deadlifts, barbell row) and he identified issues with my body and with my form and recommended stretches to help me warmup properly. He's also a great listener. I felt at ease interrupting him and asking him any questions and he did a great job going beyond the question I'd asked and providing excellent context. He also went out of his way to provide nutritional guidance.
Wellspace SF is a wonderful discovery! I was looking for help and guidance around nutrition and relationship to food. I am glad to have found this place. Their response to my initial request to find a nutritionist/food coach was very timely. The folks I communicated with were so professional and caring, and they matched me up perfectly with a nutritionist/food coach who has the perfect background and personality for my needs! I attribute this to careful listening and good questioning. I was able to make an appointment quickly, and we have already had an initial session, and I couldn't be more pleased!
I would definitely recommend Armando for his depth of knowledge in both personal training techniques as well as comprehensive nutrition. After training with him over 6 months (kept renewing our contract), I can attest to all the new techniques I've learned from him that have greatly helped me in my weight loss and maintenance goals. Armando always maintains a positive and friendly vibe during our sessions and will go out of his way to explain every move in great detail. Again, definitely recommended.

Kula Wellness is an awesome group to work with. Justin has so much knowledge of how the body works as a whole and how to work all the small pieces to support the larger goals. In addition, he provides great nutritional advice to support your fitness goals, over and above the training aspect. I loved working with him to lose weight and tone areas that I've always struggled with. He is extremely patient, caring, and understanding, and there is never any doubt that he absorbs everything you ever say to him and takes the time to get to know you.
A little information about me. I've been overweight most of my life and have tried countless programs to lose weight and to regain my health. One thing I had never tried was personal training. In December 2016, I found Scott Meade through Thumbtack. Scott was the first Personal Trainer to respond to my inquiry. I felt an immediate connection with him. He invited me to meet him at the gym on a Sunday. He wanted to give me a tour of the gym and for us to have a casual chat. As an obese female, I was extremely nervous to meet him. He made me feel at ease and I appreciated the time he spent with me talking about his passions; exercise and nutrition. I sensed how genuine he was. His excitement is what jumpstarted my excitement to begin this journey with him. I started training with Scott on January 2nd. Here are just a few reasons why I need Scott besides me on this journey: 1) The guy knows his stuff. Not only is he physically fit, but he's also smart. He stays current in his field and never hesitates to share new information to help develop my knowledge. He doesn't just tell me what to do, he provides reasoning and teaches me along the way. 2) He believes in me more than I believe in myself. He never allows my mental blocks to stop me from doing my best. He's positive and encourages me to tap into my positive spirit. Not always easy. 3) He's responsive and organized. He stays on top of my nutrition and provides feedback on what I'm doing well and what I need to change. He doesn't sugar coat things because that's not how we achieve results. Totally makes sense. 4) He's creative with his workouts and thinks outside of the box. Workouts are never repetitious which helps keep me dialed in. I like the variety he incorporates in my plan. 5) When I'm in the gym with him, it's about ME. I could go on and on about Scott. If you're looking for a Personal Trainer, reach out and meet him. You won't regret it. Meeting Scott was one of the best things that happened to me.
Training with Cat is motivational, educational and most of all fun! We work hard, and I look forward to every single session. Cat is incredibly knowledgeable not only in fitness, but also in nutrition and well being. I could not recommend her enough.
I have been working with Natalie for about 6 weeks now and i can see great changes in my body. I have lost some pounds and inches and my energy level has increased overall. I found Teresa to be a great source of nutritional info as well as a great listener during a what was a difficult time for me. I had a number of questions about my specific food habits and what to change. I was sick of my own bad habits. Teresa made sure to address all of my concerns. I found her very advice very practical and udown to earth. She was upbeat and positive about the changes I had already made, and the immediate and future benefits I would feel, which made it easier to think about changing. It wasn't that she just encouraged me to eat a ton of green veggies. What helped is the way she said this. She was empathetic and said things in a way I could hear. For example, she was able to share how she loves cooking up a plate of fresh kale or other greens with olive oil. That way, I could think of greens as something I would actually want to eat a lot of. I started working with Colette in December of 2015 with the intent to enter a bikini competition. I needed help sculpting my body and losing that last bit of extra fat. She gave me a tailored meal plan based on the nutrition I needed and took into account the foods I did and didn't like. Its easy and clear to follow and my cravings are diminished. We meet regularly to check in on progress and workout together, and have a daily checkpoint on how everything is progressing. I have been a patient of Dr Husbands since 2008. I originally went to him with ovarian cysts that my doctor wanted to surgically remove. Dr. Husbands used a combination of dietary changes, lifestyle changes, and nutritional supplements. Two weeks later I had my pre-op exam and the cysts were gone; surgery was cancelled. I have continued to use his program and the cysts have not returned. As an extra bonus I was able to lose 5 lbs that had been around since my first pregnancy. My parents went to him after my success and they have been able to control their blood pressure and reverse their type 2 diabetes. He researched every medication they were taking so that nothing he suggested would create any negative side effects. When I retired I was overweight and woefully out of shape. I wanted to do something about that, so I joined a gym and had the very good fortune to end up with Jack as my personal trainer. Two years later I am 45 pounds lighter and in the best shape of my adult life. A month ago I kept up with my thirty something son-in-law (a former Division One athlete) on several all day hikes in Yosemite, including a trek to the top of 13,000+ Mt. Dana. Jack has tremendous expertise in body mechanics and nutrition, but most importantly he has the personality to apply that knowledge successfully. He is personable, enthusiastic and unfailingly positive. He has an uncanny ability to push you without being pushy and to motivate you without being overbearing. Thanks to Jack I am eating better, feeling better and looking forward to a much more active retirement than I could have imagined two years ago.

With my secondary degree in culinary sciences, I studied food chemistry, biochemistry and culinary methods- how foods work together in recipes, how to create and be creative in the kitchen.
