I've been taking guitar and singing lessons with David for a few months, and I've got to say I've had a really great time learning from him! David is an incredibly friendly and knowledgeable teacher who clearly cares about his students and their goals, and better still has played and performed with the artists that I like best. It took me a while to find a teacher who was willing to teach me the music I wanted to play instead of starting with their core competence, so it was really refreshing that within a month or two with plenty of practice I was able to learn one of my favorite songs (Three Rounds and a Sound by Blind Pilot, if you're curious), and a little longer to start singing it, which I was really stoked about. He has been great about breaking things down when the piece we're working on is too challenging. David has also pushed me to pursue my goal of creating music, helping along the way to create melodies and lyrics. I have to say, it takes a great teacher to get me to sing and to share lyrics with them (do you know how embarrassing that can be?). I could go on, but suffice it to say, David is a great teacher, and I'm really glad I started taking lessons with him.

I found Brett on Yelp to get some electric guitar lessons after spending years plateauing on chords for acoustic guitar, and after chatting with him a bit on the phone, decided to give him a shot. I have found Brett to be a true music lover and efficient guitar teacher, who tries to find ways to distill his 20 years of guitar playing down to targeted exercises and practice areas. It's clear that he's done his personal work to become good at his instrument. I've only been taking lessons every other week for two months, so I hope the trend of improvement keeps up!

I have only taken 3 bass lessons and I have learned so much and can't wait to learn more. I highly recommend Sedat for anyone who wants to learn guitar.

I'm a beginner to guitar, having played a little piano and drums before. Been working with Chris for a few weeks now and it has been a blast. He's a talented musician who is connected to the music scene. I wanted a guitar teacher who was connected to the local music scene, and so I've really enjoyed working with Chris and even going to see his band perform. I also love how Chris walks through songs and is able to write out the tabs and chords on the fly, and then on top of that show me multiple ways of playing the same song. Highly recommend.

I dont know how Kiyo puts up with my wicked slow fingers, but he's very patient! Good teacher - starts with basic chords then has you set a goal for the first song you want to play.

Mike has been giving my daughter guitar lessons now for approximately 4 to 5 months. She is just 9 years old, but he is able to really relate to her and her style of music. More importantly, he has been able to build upon the basics while keeping her engaged and excited about guitar. I HIGHLY recommend Mike!

Best Bass Teacher and Bassist Inna The Bay

    About

I am a local professional electric and upright bassist seeking private students. I have fifteen years of experience in performing and teaching. I earned my Master's Degree from the SF Conservatory of Music in Double Bass Performance in 2006 and I perform regularly around the Bay Area. I specialize in classical technique/repertoire and jazz technique/theory. I would also be happy in helping electric bass students learn rock theory, songs, etc. This offer is for serious students only. Beginners are expected to practice fifteen minutes a day. I work primarily out of a home studio in SF, but I am willing to travel. I offer one free trial lesson to gauge student's ability. Pricing is set accordingly to the location of lessons. Other details to be worked out can be done via email or over the phone. Rob
