Introduction: Kevin Russell, who is a blues guitar teacher, is accepting students now! If you really want to learn to play really cool blues, I will show you. I have been teaching for over 20 years and have taught quite a few students over the years. I get joy out of passing on what I have learned through my years. I've been a professional musician/recording artist for over 30 years. Although I do specialize in teaching blues, I have students with wider interests, and I certainly will explore that with you. Ear training is another part of my teaching. This is a wonderful help to students wanting to be able to learn songs on their own. I teach on how to listen and be able to hear the keys, chord changes, solos and so on. I can really help you with some basic guidelines in expanding your ears. My classes involve "how to play better rhythm guitar", and "the fine art of rhythm guitar playing". This is where the magic can really happen for you. The wonderful world of chords and the use of rhythm patterns, and finally soloing in major and minor pentatonic. I will help you with better note selection and better phrasing - how to play those cool classic blues licks and how to phrase them. I also conduct workshops and clinics. The workshops have been such a great way for students to learn how to play ensemble (together with other players). I will also will teach you how to use your gear and how to get better tones out of your guitar and amp. "If you love guitar, then play it!"
