First of all I was surprised at how quickly Jared responded to my inquiry. This is my first experience with Thumbtack. My husband and I recently moved and purchased office bookcases, file cabinets, and pantry shelving from Ikea. There were a LOT of boxes. Jared was able to come the next day and begin assembly. It was a big job but he completed it in two days. The end result was absolutely what we wanted, maybe better. Jared was prompt, very responsive and professional. Since that initial job, he's returned for more furniture assembly: shelves and a kitchen island cart. We have more for him to do and in the future I won't be calling anyone else. He's local which is something important to me. We couldn't be more satisfied with the work done in our home. Great job Jared and thanks to Thumbtack.
Pete installed tile in my bathroom. He spent extra time to get the tile installed and the toilet placed correctly. Pete went above and beyond to make sure we had the correct parts for the toilet placement. Despite some concerns that I needed to take care of after the project was complete (small details at the edges, not a big deal) all ended up looking much improved in my now-updated bathroom.
ARC Handyman Services (Danny) has made me so happy! My expectations were greatly exceeded! I had a complex plumbing problem in my 35-year-old mobile home. I was afraid that a plumber might have to work all day and still not be able to figure out why hot water was coming out of my cold water faucet, the toilet tank, and the outside hose nozzle. All of the above were dripping water at an increasing rate as time went by, even when the water was "shut off" at the valve outside. Danny went out of his way to schedule the extra time he thought he might need to complete the work before things got much worse. He and the staff of ARC Handyman Services are excellent communicators. I was so worried, but Kirsten in the office explained to me that Danny was really smart and that she didn't know of anything yet that he couldn't fix. In my case this turned out to be so true! Danny arrived at the expected time, smiling, friendly, and prepared with a truck full of tools and supplies. He looked things over, asked me a few questions, and had the whole problem figured out and fixed so quickly that he also was able to take care of TWO (!) other projects I'd been waiting to fix: 1) He used the kit I already had and replaced all the parts in my toilet tank, and 2) he fixed two hanging ceiling lights that previously would not turn on with the light switch. Wow! I'm not just impressed... I am ecstatic and amazed! He fixed THREE of my most aggravating maintenance problems in 2-1/2 hours, which was just barely over the minimum he charges to come out. I got three projects fixed for less than I was expecting to pay for one project! I think that Danny's knowledge, skill, and speed make his hourly rates the best value in town. I'll definitely be calling ARC Handyman Services for more projects in the future: replace fence, rebuild steps, repair floor, power wash exterior, etc. I'm so relieved now, and happy! Eddie communicated very well regarding the time of arrival and had all the tools to help fix things in my house immediately. I thought he was going to give me a quote, but he was zealous, knowledgeable, and prepared, so he was able to do everything I had asked of him right then! He is extremely personable, kind, and professional. He cares about his work and his customers, truly, and wants his customers to know he did his best job according to his customer's approval. I am so glad to have a handyperson I can trust now!
We had a nail polish remover stain on our new dining room table and wanted it restained/fixed before family came for new years day. Tim worked it in his schedule to come in the afternoon of 12/31 and worked his magic on the table and refiinished the table. It looks great and you'd never know their was a big faded nail polish remover stain there. Tim is very personable and I would recommend him whole heartedly to anyone who needs some furniture doctoring.
I found Cody when purchasing some office furniture in 2014 here in SB. He also moved furniture for me later and assisted with some handyman services. I recommend Cody highly. He's dependable and timely and friendly--a treasure for me. Strong too!
Came on time. Clean and professional personality. He has done a lot for me for his two different visits as a new homeowner. I made a list what I needed to be done and he performed all the required work. He went to the Hardware Store and shopped for the best materials for me. He assembled; added shelves, porch lights, grab bars; added more lightning in the garage; put up a new shower door, just name all the things you want and he will fix/repair at reasonable cost. No regret. My dad was also retired MCB 4 Seabee and he did a lot of mprovements at their house. When I saw Mr. Fred on the website, I chose him because of his experience and you only those military (Seabee can do!) . You will be happy that you hire him, Mr. Fred.
Before Mr. Know It All came to our house, we called and got information on what the company was all about. The owner was very knowledgable in his equipment and products. The carpet tech came on time to the job, made sure my husband and I were 100% satisfied before he left, and even helped us move our furniture to help clean the parts we needed stains removed. Our carpets never smelled so clean!!! I rate this company 5 stars and will definitely refer them to my friends and colleagues. Great job, Mr. Know It All! JC is really nice guy. The customer service was great. The first mover I contacted showed up with a pick up truck and said he couldn't do the job. Therefore I was left a terrible pickle. So I went back to Thumbtack and called JC. Luckily he was coming back from LA and agreed to meet me in Goleta. The move was very efficient. I wish everything got into the truck but all the big and heavy furniture items were moved. JC and his guys took great care of our stuff. They also unloaded each item in the room that we requested. Overall we were very happy with our experience with West Coast Movers. That is why I give them five stars and would recommend them to my friends.

I recently moved to the area and hired Al for a variety of projects from handing pictures, mirrors (one very large), assembling furniture and a garage cabinet. He even got my grandfather clock working after being disassembled for the move. Al is very knowledgeable about repair projects. He is very thorough and his pricing is reasonable. I will definitely be using him for future projects and highly recommend him. He is also a very nice person. Thank you Al!
The work was very good and everything was completed at the estimated cost. Overall, I am very happy with the services. We had a few scheduling delays related to materials not arriving on time, so I am giving four stars instead of five.

Rickey has been working on several major projects for a month to beautify our 100 year old house and property we recently moved into in Ventura. We want to continue to work with him, so stand in line. The jobs he has completed are ranging from carpentry to brick work. All his work is sound and worthy. Rickey is truly a good worker and his work results are excellent. In addition to being intelligent and a good communicator, the quality of his work is dependable, if not exceptional. He solves problems quickly and avoids creating them. His work ethics are professional and his attitude is good. He is a happy person which to us is valuable. We enjoy hearing him sing to himself as he works sometimes. He pays attention to others around him, making him and his work less intrusive. He respects the grounds and other people's work. We only have good things to say about Rickey and recommend him highly.
We hired Syd a second time to tackle a list of projects. He professionally installed a window Air Conditioning unit so that it is safe and secure. He fixed some outdoor light fixtures and refinished a light. He fixed two broken chairs. He repaired and antique piece of furniture, moved it and then secured it for earthquake safety. We will use him again.
Keith and his co-worker were wonderful. They hung my art work and it was easy and fun. They come with a great attitude and a smile on their face. They stand by their work and are super nice people.
