Kandis is a top-notch yoga instructor--and I am VERY particular about yoga instructors. She is the only personal yoga instructor I have ever had who thoughtfully explains what you are doing, why you are doing it, and how it impacts the muscles and structure of your body as you do it, too, which I love. Because of this I find myself easily integrating yoga into my day on days I don't see her just because I know what to do and how to do it. She also has a fun personality and you can easily see she actually enjoys teaching yoga which makes the process of doing yoga 10x's more enjoyable. I leave our sessions together feeling so much better energetically and physically than I typically do from yoga. If you are looking for an excellent yoga teacher who is thoughtful, thorough, highly intelligent, fun to work with, who will foster and help you grow your own love of yoga beyond your sessions together, you need Kandis in your life!

Degenerative discs in my lower back plus difficulties in a hip have been troubling me for a couple years. Sierra has been working with me for almost a year to optimize exercises I was given in physical therapy by combining them with meditation & healing yoga. She has a wonderful positive approach & is very knowledgeable & pleasant.

I've loved yoga for a long time and I really wanted to deepen my practice. I took Holly's vinyasa flow class at Equinox. I loved her style and we decided to work together one on one. Now Im doing hand stand at the wall! I really appreciate how Holly breaks down the poses and, even when Im thinking "no way", she always helps me experience what part of the pose i CAN do. Its super fun and empowering.

For me, Ericka is one of those people that you feel fortunate when you cross paths with them in life. I met Ericka when she started teaching yoga at my company twice a week more than two years ago. She is easily relatable, down to earth and doesn't take her self too seriously - but she definitely knows her yoga. Our class is a great combo of folks who take yoga seriously and folks who are there for work yoga. I appreciate how she tries to tailor each class based on what types of ailments each of us have that day. But more than that, Ericka has been a friend and an awesome teacher for me personally, so if you have the chance to meet her and work with her - I would highly recommend it. Gabe

Mariana provides a highly personalized experience that makes me feel real progress. I initially started working with her because I wanted to push myself during workouts, but was amazed at how her focus on form, breathing, and nutrition have pushed me to another level. I used to think the formula was all 'no pain, no gain' - Mari helped me focus on new habits (like static stretching and yoga) that help me recover faster and perform stronger. I have been working with her for over 1.5 years and can confidently say she helped get me to my prime athletic condition. Cannot reccomend enough!

Amanda Michael, Yoga Student As a former ballerina, I have dabbled with yoga my whole life. However, it was not until I joined Yoga Pod that I fell in love with yoga, and Denelle is a huge part of why. Denelle’s class is something I look forward to each week; her energy and passion for yoga are contagious! Denelle’s practice always challenges the mind, body, and soul, but she balances this with a sense of humor and light-heartedness. Her dance background is apparent in her beautiful flows and poses, and she does a great job of breaking down the poses so that all levels can comfortably participate. She is a wonderful teacher and I leave her class energized and ready to take on the week!

I am so grateful to have found Apoorva More Yoga on Thumbtack. I was in need of private in-home yoga due to an acute case of Adrenaline Fatigue caused primarily by stress. Apoorva has taught me restorative poses and breathing exercises that have been helpful in relaxing me and reducing my stress level. I would highly recommend her for anyone desiring to develop or strengthen a yoga practice. Besides being kind, empathetic and nonjudgmental, she is very skilled in modeling and teaching yoga so that one can optimize the benefits. Under other circumstances, I would not have thought of private instruction, but now realize that I have gotten more out of my sessions with her than the various classes I have taken over the years.

Mary has been one of my best ballet teachers over the past 15 years. Most of her excellent qualities should cross over to teaching yoga. Mary is fun, energetic and positive in her interactions with students. She mixes her corrections with plenty of praise. The student feels Mary is collaborating with the student to achieve improvement. Mary isolates movements that need work and develops her own exercises separate from traditional ballet exercises. She outlines her goals in the exercises for individual students so the student can focus. She will say, for example, "Don't worry about your arms now. Reach with your feet. We'll get to your arms later." You will never regret working with Mary if you are so lucky.

Jenny is the best yoga instructor...ever! I've had many private lessons with Jenny and she has not only up'd my yoga game but also my confidence to move through poses correctly so I can really focus on my breath and mindfulness practice. She has helped me work on several poses that I've always wanted to be able to do but thought I'd never get there (e.g., headstand). She gave me several pro yoga tips and I was doing them in a matter of literally ONE session. She also understands that yoga is not cookie cutter. She adapts poses and tailors lessons to your unique needs. For example, I was trying to do Plow pose in a class but I could never do it because my boobs chock me. So I brought this pose to her and she helped me learn how to do the pose safely with props so I didn't have to sit the pose out completely during class. After a private lesson I feel energized and re-inspired to continue yoga. Often in privates with other people or classes you can sometimes feel bored or like you didn't really gain anything. That has never been the case with Jenny's privates. I always leave wanting to explore yoga in new ways and feel excited for my next private with her. Honestly, Jenny has a very sweet energy, is talented in yoga fundamentals and advanced yoga concepts, and is a lot of fun. You will not be disappointed with a session from Jenny! You should definitely book!

I've been doing weekly private yoga sessions with Shannon for 3 months. I sought out private sessions in my home because I work at home and it was too disruptive to try to go to a class in the middle of my work day. After factoring in roundtrip travel time, time to park, etc., the advantages of in-home yoga became clear. More importantly, however, I sustained an injury in a previous yoga class and wanted to ease back into yoga in a carefully supervised setting. Shannon is the real deal. She trained in an immersive yoga program in India and understands and embraces the spiritual and meditative aspects of yoga, as originally taught over the centuries. She is not a product of the ubiquitous Western yoga school that cranks out teachers on an assembly line, and her skill level and teaching style reflect the depth and quality of her training and commitment to teaching and practicing yoga. Finally, Shannon is able to skillfully adapt her sessions to accommodate my physical limitations. I'm working on flexibility, am very tight (hamstrings of concrete), but Shannon easily adapts to meet my circumstances in a safe, supportive and kind-hearted manner.

Regina was amazing to work with! She immediately recognized things about my body that I've been struggling to identify for years. She gave me clear and specific tools that I can apply as I develop my own practice and attend other group classes. I highly recommend Regina to anyone looking for a more personalized introduction to yoga. I will be booking again with her very soon!

Katherine is a wonderful yoga instructor. She is patient and will adapt poses to various levels of ability. Her gentle yoga classes are restorative and relaxing while her power classes really make you sweat! Either way, gentle or power, I always feel better after yoga with Katherine.

The experience I’ve had working with Chelsey in the realms of yoga, nutrition, and integrating mind, body, and soul has been invaluable to me. Her approach is truly personalized in the sense that she understands that food, exercise, etc are not one size fits all solutions. The value she brings comes from the fact that she gets to know you, to understand you, so that she can help guide you in the best direction for you and only you. since working together I feel more energized, more focused, and more motivated and inspired in my personal and professional life. Thank you Chelsey for all that you do.

About

I am a certified professional amrit method yoga nidra and kripalu yoga teacher. I offer private sessions and classes at my home studio, your home, or via Skype online. Yoga nidra is a sleep-based meditation technique that allows the body to deeply restore itself, balancing excess stress. It initiates shifts from the deepest core of your being and provides you with powerful tools to banish self-destructive unconscious fears, beliefs, and habits (planting new seeds of intention). It also helps to regulate the body's sleep cycles and release worrying thoughts through deep relaxation techniques (allows the body to release more melatonin). Come back home in your heart and experience this life as who you really are.

Namaste y'all! I'd love to share with you the tingle of triangle, the beauty of bow, and the wonder of wheel. I've practiced yoga for 15 years and studied with Lalit Kumar at the Himalaya Yoga Valley in beautiful Goa, India, where I received my yoga teacher certification. I'm a certified Reiki practitioner and have completed the intensive "Chakra Awakening: Psychology of the Chakras" course as well as chakra yoga training with Anodea Judith, founder of Sacred Centers. My practice and classes focus on the body-mind-spirit connection by working with the chakra system to open the energetic centers and promote the flow of energy. Classes are sprinkled with fun dashes of Ayurvedic medicine, herbalism, aromatherapy, pranayama, sound healing, nutrition, and laughter as well as practical and positive intentions. I have also created the "ChakWave" juice cleanse, seven blends inspired by the chakra system and can help you in getting friendly with your juicer if you would like to juice in addition to perfecting rad downward dogs.
