I've been taking guitar and singing lessons with David for a few months, and I've got to say I've had a really great time learning from him! David is an incredibly friendly and knowledgeable teacher who clearly cares about his students and their goals, and better still has played and performed with the artists that I like best. It took me a while to find a teacher who was willing to teach me the music I wanted to play instead of starting with their core competence, so it was really refreshing that within a month or two with plenty of practice I was able to learn one of my favorite songs (Three Rounds and a Sound by Blind Pilot, if you're curious), and a little longer to start singing it, which I was really stoked about. He has been great about breaking things down when the piece we're working on is too challenging. David has also pushed me to pursue my goal of creating music, helping along the way to create melodies and lyrics. I have to say, it takes a great teacher to get me to sing and to share lyrics with them (do you know how embarrassing that can be?). I could go on, but suffice it to say, David is a great teacher, and I'm really glad I started taking lessons with him.
Been singing for many years and surprised to still be learning so much. Juan is quite professional and disciplined. He identifies where you need work and starts with fundamentals. You can't fake it with him; he'll know! I recommend going into it with a clear goal and he'll design a program for you.
Wow, Ann has been great! I've never taken any voice lessons before, and in fact, I'm a terrible singer! The reason why I wanted to take lessons was because I've always wanted to be able to sing at least one song decently. So, I was nervous going to my first lesson with a professional voice coach. She was very friendly, and put me at ease immediately. She casually taught me about the basics, and asked me a lot of questions to get to know me. Once she realized I had no prior experience, she got right to work! She made the lessons fun, but also full of new things to learn. I've only had a couple of lessons so far, but I'm already noticing a big difference!!! And I'm an absolute beginner! Sometimes she sings for me to show me techniques, and she blows me away with her singing! I can imagine that even professional singers would get a lot out of taking lessons from her! She notices even the tiniest of details about your voice and makes note and suggests ways to improve! I definitely recommend!
These were my first voice lessons ever. Lessons are fun. Deborah has lots of helpful advice and encouragement.
My daughter recently started doing piano lessons with Lynn and she just loves it. She loves Lynn and thinks she is so nice. I sat in on her first session and I learned so much just from watching in the background. Lynn is an outstanding piano teacher and I recommend her for anyone interested in piano or voice lessons.
Nick has been providing guitar lessons for my daughter for over a year now. He style is fun, engaging, and hip. Highly recommend his expertise!
I wholeheartedly recommend vocal lessons with Mark! I leave our sessions inspired and feel I now have a priceless and foundational understanding of technique. Lessons are fun and informative. Mark is the best!
Jonathan is so great! Lessons are fun and productive - he brings lots of insight and experience and I improved very much.
Kaila is hands down one of the best Vocal Instructors in the WORLD. She is super professional as well as educated on the craft of singing. She has taught me things about my voice that have been benificial to my career as an artist. I will carry the tools she has provided me for the rest of my life.
Natalie has been fantastic to work with! Her instruction through exercises, general tips/suggestions, and specific ideas when working on a particular song has all been stellar and on point throughout my work with her. I feel like I have improved dramatically over the course of our lessons, and my band members have made several comments about my improvement as well. She has an uncanny knack for knowing what I am doing with my breath, diaphragm, throat, mouth, etc., and being able to suggest just the right adjustments to make things sound better and more comfortable to sing. Natalie is a wonderful person, too, very encouraging, supportive, and respectful. I highly, highly recommend her!!
Mike was an excellent teacher of the drums and I highly recommend him to anyone starting to learn how to drum. He is skilled in conga drums along with standard kits.
Wendy brings a wealth of knowledge about music and singing, combines it with enthusiasm, genuine caring, and experience, and channels it all into her teaching. Lessons are always fun, engaging, educational, and tailored to the student's unique voice and abilities. I'd recommend Wendy to any aspiring singer of any age without reservation. - Horst, San Rafael, CA
I've been taking singing lessons with Cherie for about a year. I've always wanted to perform at open mics and maybe start a band but I knew I had some work to do before feeling confident. So I started singing lessons with Cherie to help prepare me for performance but we also spent a lot of time growing my voice. I realized I had a much bigger range than I'd thought. BTW - I'm also a beginner guitarist and we sometimes have guitar lessons too. She's a great guitarist and singer. So I really feel like she's the best out there for that type of work. If you want to not only work on your voice but learn how to perform and have a fun time in general - I'd book Cherie for lessons. She's a pro :-)
I offer professional music instruction for guitar, bass, piano, vocals, banjo and ukelele in a private lesson format. We also offer periodic workshops for specific music styles, as well as an introductory class on the guitar for children under 10.

While I do incorporate traditional music theory and teaching methods, my background in electronic music inspires me to help you think outside the box and be creative.
Learn to sing! As a classically trained opera singer, I offer a variety of services, ranging from performances for weddings and funerals to individual voice lessons or group vocal lessons. I have my bachelor's degree in music, with an emphasis in vocal performance from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, and have been performing in the Bay area for almost 15 years. I currently teach voice lessons out of my studio in Novato, CA. I love teaching people of all ages to sing, and my only requirement for children who are interested in singing lessons is that they are old enough to be able to read. If you are interested in taking lessons from me, please feel free to call me, and we can set up a complimentary introductory lesson to discuss your goals and find out if we are a good match as teacher and student.
I am an undergraduate student, and I'm looking for a job to pay my tuition. I have learned music for over 10 years. I'll try my best to teach.
I am an experienced pianist, accompanist, and vocal coach; currently semi-retired at 60 years young. I studied classical singing at a voice studio where I also accompanied other singing students for many years. Throughout much of that time, I have taught Piano and Voice privately in several different cities in the Greater San Francisco Bay Area. My conservatory training has enabled me to provide my singing students with a study classical foundation; and my experience as a musical theater accompanist and a lounge pianist has empowered me to teach pop-contemporary styles of singing to interested students. Although I enjoy teaching piano as well as tutoring students in music theory and composition (my emphasis at the conservatory), my strength lies in training of singers. My singing students develop their potential in the styles of their choosing -- and receive quality piano accompaniment in the process. References are available upon request.
