💡All-online studio💡 🎹 I'm a classically trained piano teacher with 15 years’ experience. My approach is warm and positive; I give students everything they need to pursue both classical and contemporary music, and we have fun doing it! My students have the opportunity to: - get to know many styles of music - become strong readers and confident musicians - perform for each other often in a warm, supportive environment As a homeschool graduate, I began college early at age 15 for music theory and performance. Since 2010 I’ve taught lessons, both privately, and for award-winning music academies across America. Since 2020 I’ve taught exclusively online, and my students love the convenience and flexibility. Since this is all I’ve done for years, I know how to make it the best experience. On my end, I utilize a multi-camera setup for max visibility, and a combination of analog and digital learning tools to help students engage and learn. On your end, it’s easy - just open Zoom on any device, and set it where I can see you and the piano! I would love the opportunity to create a musical experience for you or your student! Feel free to contact me with any questions - no strings attached. :)See more

I help adults learn to play jazz piano with confidence, clarity, and real musical freedom. ALL LESSONS ARE VIRTUAL. I’m a jazz pianist, composer, and music director currently based in New York City, with years of experience performing, music-directing, and teaching at a professional level. I’m a graduate of the University of Colorado Boulder’s Jazz Studies program, continued my studies at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, and was recently accepted into the BMI Lehman Engel Musical Theatre Workshop — one of the nation’s premier programs for emerging theatre composers. I currently serve as the music director and pianist for An Evening with Eartha Kitt: Live Tribute, starring Broadway actress Thomasina Gross. I specialize in helping teen and adult learners who want to finally understand jazz harmony, improvise without fear, play creatively across styles, and feel confident at the piano — whether you’re starting fresh, returning after a long break, or looking to deepen your musical understanding. My approach is structured, intuitive, and musical — not a collection of disconnected scales or theory drills. Together, we build your skills through six essential pillars: -Technique and ease at the instrument -Chord–scale fluency and melodic development -Rhythmic feel and groove -Jazz harmony and voicings (from the ground up) -Ear training using the Solfege system and other relative pitch modalities -Applying everything to repertoire you enjoy, both in and outside of jazz Each lesson connects directly to the next, so you’re not just learning information — you’re building a voice. You’ll learn to improvise melodies, create rich harmonies, understand rhythmic phrasing, and play comfortably both solo and with others. Students often tell me they appreciate my clarity, patience, and ability to break down complex ideas into simple concepts that immediately improve their playing. My goal is to make each lesson engaging, encouraging, and tailored to your goals — whether that’s playing jazz standards beautifully, understanding chords and voicings, improvising freely, or developing a lasting creative practice. If you want to learn piano in a way that feels inspiring, structured, and genuinely musical, I’d love to help you get there.See more

ENJOY A FREE TRIAL LESSON I CAN GIVE YOU THE TOOLS TO LEAP YOUR PLAYING FORWARD, AT ANY LEVEL, OR, IF YOU ARE READY, PREPARE YOU FOR A JUILLIARD AUDITION. Understandably, most people feel somewhat lost looking for a piano teacher. Almost every instructor claims to have studied with a famous teacher, many have performed in various parts of the world, and some may be acquainted with a few musical celebrities. All mention their broad experience in teaching. How can a person tell if a teacher is worth working with? I have, of course, been a student myself, and have made some good decisions, and some bad ones, regarding the choice of a teacher, and I know what makes the difference. My goal is to help every student significantly improve their musical facility and enjoyment. It is important to me that students don’t lose the hope of becoming excellent, not just OK, when it comes to playing piano. This is not to say I want all my students to have a music career, but I want them to feel content and satisfied when they play for themselves and others. Here is how I am different from other teachers: - I have performed solo, with orchestras, and as an accompanist on three different continents. Even though my career was on an upward trajectory, I decided to settle in Philadelphia and for some time to focus on building a sense of permanence where I live. I would be the first person to say “Those who can - do, those who can’t - teach”. I try to make sure that I myself grow continually as a musician in a broad sense of the word. In a nutshell, you will be dealing with someone who actually makes music, rather than theorizes about how to make it. - Every teacher says that they have an individual approach to every student. I am sure this is true, yet the question is how far a teacher is willing to go in this customization. With my students, if a particular method is not working, we will try every possible technique or approach available until we succeed. As long as a student puts time into practice on a regular basis, I will constantly be working on maximizing the efficiency of both the repertoire and theory aspects of every lesson, to make sure we progress. You will be working with someone who can teach the basic as well as the most advanced piano repertoire that exists. - A student might falsely assume the teacher’s level doesn’t matter in the beginning of their studies. The difference, however, is in knowing not just how something is usually done but rather WHY it is done this way. This is crucial if one wants to have a deep understanding of the piano performance, even in the very beginning. With my students I try to go deep, but make it easy in the end. Music playing should be fun, but you can’t make it fun if the progress is superficial. - I have studied in three different countries, and at very famous institutions (Moscow Conservatory, Yale School of Music, Frankfurt Musik Hochschule). This allows me to have a broad perspective on piano playing and pedagogy. -Last but not least, I only started to play piano seriously when I was 14. Everyone knows it is hard to start late, and I had a lot of challenges to overcome. A lot of famous teachers are former prodigies who didn’t have to struggle to play the instrument, and they are frankly unsure how to approach some problems. My own experience allows me to creatively find solutions to whatever difficult problems may be encountered, and conquer them! I am sure I can make a difference for you as well!See more

🎹 Piano Lessons I work with beginners through advanced players, including adults returning to piano, jazz students, and classically trained pianists looking to expand their skills. <How I Work With Students> We start by setting a clear, personal goal (for example: playing a jazz standard, accompanying a singer, composing an original piece, or preparing a classical work). From there, I: •Assess your current level and experience •Identify the specific skills needed to reach your goal •Break everything into manageable, practical steps Each lesson focuses on exactly what you should practice and how to practice efficiently, so progress feels steady and motivating. <Teaching Approach> With nearly three decades of piano experience and study with master musicians, I focus on efficient practice strategies and healthy technique that help you play with ease and confidence. My approach is structured but encouraging, and always adapted to each student’s learning style. Topics I Commonly Cover •Music theory •Improvisation •Ear training •Piano technique •Sight-reading •Jazz, classical, pop •Harmony, chords, voicings Lesson Rates 30 minutes – $45 45 minutes – $65 60 minutes – $80 *Online or in-person lesson at my studio in Queens NY 🎼 Piano Performance (Weddings & Events) Award-winning pianist offering solo piano, duo, or jazz trio performances. Ideal for: •Wedding ceremonies •Cocktail hours •Private parties & celebrations •Corporate events •Baby showers & special occasions I tailor the music to each event and can play a wide range of styles, including classical, jazz, pop, rock, Broadway, film scores, Disney classics, and holiday music. While at Berklee, I was selected to perform at the U.S.–Japan Council Annual Conference in Tokyo, attended by U.S. Ambassador Caroline Kennedy and former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe. I later recorded with Grammy Award–winning trumpeter Darren Barrett on his album But Beautiful “Time For Romance” (2018).
