My daughter took voice lessons from Julie for several years. During that time, my daughter's vocal skills were dramatically improved. With Julie's help, my daughter secured multiple singing solo parts in local theatre productions. Julie is a wonderful instructor, who takes a personal interest in her students' progress.

Craig is an excellent guitar instructor. He tailors my lessons to my music al interest, and is the only teacher who helps me focus on mental preparation (for performance confidence). He has helped me develop physical techniques such right hand exercises, looping practices for increasing tempo and learning the fretboard. Playing the notes of music is just one part of playing an instrument... playing with dynamics makes the music more alive and enjoyable. Craig has taught me this as well. When I met Craig 15 months ago he told me he could help me to become a musician vs. a guitarist. I'm on my way because of Craig's interest in me as an individual and his genuine encouragement. I want to practice everyday because I'm excited to see my improvement through specific drills and methods. Craig has taught me how to practice which is incredibly important.

My daughter started taking music lessons with Elaine when she was four. She now takes private piano lessons once a week. Our experience has been amazing. Elaine strikes a delicate balance with young children between playtime and focused learning. My daughter's ability has progressed quickly and more importantly she has developed a wonderful relationship with music that I hope will continue to blossom. In addition, the regular performances have helped my daughter's self confidence and she now is able to perform in front of a group without fear. We love Sounds of Tahoe !

Katie is absolutely phenomenal. She is everything anyone could ever want in a tutor. She is extremely knowledgeable and very clear with her instructions. She is understanding and compassionate when it comes to my lack of ability on the subject. She makes lessons fun and interesting. I cannot say enough good things about Katie. A+ !!

I graduated from the University of Nevada Reno with a BA in Music and Theater. I am a licensed teacher for Washoe County School District in teaching music, theater, and English. I taught music at Sage Ridge School for one year and for two Reno Middle Schools for another year. I have a Yamaha Clavinova electric piano at home with a full piano keyboard and synthesizer. It allows recording with background music arrangements. I also have a speaker and microphones for singing. I have played with bands, directed choirs, performed in stage productions, and I'm always involved in music.

I have played in jazz bands, and given lessons to peers who wanted to improve to a level that they could pass a local audition to RYJO for example, and I have been playing music since I was 6 years old. Lessons aren't as hard of a bargain as some of the older musicians in reno, and my specialty is jazz, but I can also teach classical, baroque, and romantic music.

About

Experience piano lessons from an experienced and talented teacher. I have worked with internationally acclaimed pianists. I work well with children and adults. I enjoy teaching, and expect a high level of discipline from my students.
