Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: I am very customer oriented and very creative along with possessing skills of mechanical apptitude. I have a tendency to "invent" something, if necessary, in order to complete a task if a ready tool is not available. I have some tools of my own and have no problem using them whenever a project warrants. Sewing is another skill that serves well in many instances. Being creative is a huge help to fill in those areas that need a special touch. Many people don't realize what they already have that may be used in a pinch. Being able to adapt to a changing situation was an absolute necessity as a fire fighter, and fortunately that is another skill I use in various areas of daily living. Things don't always go as planned; and if I didn't learn that on the fireground, the job would be even more dangerous. Success depends on a person's ability to adapt, and I love the challenge. Dad told me when I was young that there are things a girl doesn't do. So I showed him and became a fire fighter! Wow, was that a big surprise! He was proud anyway and learned that my abilities were far more reaching, and I wasn't afraid to try to accomplish things outside the "norm". I don't give up without trying everything I can think of. I believe there are ways to make things fun without compromising the seriousness of a task. Having a sense of humor goes a long way as long as there is a good balance to being serious. I never leave anyone with an "I don't know." Working with people can be very rewarding along with providing a wealth of knowledge and information. Kindness, recognition, respect, and acknowledgement bring lasting professional relationships. Being remembered for those qualities has brought me some reliable resources and business services. Making connections with people will broaden your network and can also be rewarding in itself. Be open-minded and see the big picture. There is a lot to see and learn.

Hired on Thumbtack

I ended up not hiring Nancy because she was too over the top. For every one text I sent her, she sent me nine or ten (not exaggerating). She gave me every detail of what she was wearing, eating, who she lives with...all I needed was someone to run the party so I could enjoy myself. The clenched was when she woke me up at 4:00 in the morning with 2 text messages ensuring that we were still set to meet the NEXT day! I felt that it was extremely inconsiderate and unprofessional. I cut ties with her at that point.
Nancy Lamb's reply
I had already decided not to dignify something that is far from accurate, but i did change my mind. I have not been available due to health issues, so I've had plenty of time to rethink that decision. iEach item commented does not convey the actual course of events. I would really like to cover each item, but my response would be lengthy. I will cover a couple things; and if anyone wants more details, i will be happy to clarify anything further. At one point, she said, "Oh, I love you already" but there is no mention of that. I offered her FREE photography done by my ROOMMATE, because he wanted references before posting his services on Thumbtack. I told het I would pay him from my fee. I was also going to bring him for assistance with any unforeseen problems. I believe wholeheartedly that anytime someone goes to a private residence for a job, they (me) should inform the client if they are bringing anyone else, and give assurance that they know and can vouch for that person. I sent a copy of a couple photos he did for her to see his work. I don't see mention of that either. The text was purely unintentional. I'm sure evetyone has unintentionally hit the "send" button out of habit, as well as finding a text not to be sent or received when its meant. I planned to schedule the message, but again by habit I hit "send". We were supposed to meet that same day, after she had rescheduled several times, for which I was willing to accommodate. I had asked her to contact me before the end of the week, but since that did not occur and it was hours before the time she scheduled., so I wrote a text to be scheduled at a time she would be awake and before the meeting time. Seems like time had been changed again but I was not told, so I operated on the premise that the time we rescheduled and agreed upon, was still in effect. Sometimes when I text someone with several answers to their questions, I separate each answer on a text of its own. I have been told its easier for the receiver to have each point by itself so they dont have to read and look for a specific answer. I apologized profusely. No reply back. Any other questions can be asked in order to clarify anything else necessary. Thank you.
