I have been working with Annie for about 3 weeks now, with each lesson being an hour. I am by no means the best singer, but also am not the worst. I was seeking a coach who will take the time to help me grow as a singer and work with me to improve my technique, stabilization, and breathe support (mostly). As a visual person, it’s fun to hear the mental images Annie gives me to better picture what is happening in my body when preparing to sing and as I am singing. I also really love that the coaching doesn’t stop in the initial lesson. I have homework and it’s fun homework, all with the purpose of continuing to strengthen my technique and fine tuning my voice in ways that are setting me up for success. I find our lessons to be a fun and productive experience every week and I am already noticing improvements in all of the areas that I want to get better, AND MORE! She truly is a gem of a coach and I look forward to attending our lessons every week! Thank you Annie, for how much you’ve helped me thus far, and I’m am excited for future lessons!

I’m someone who’s always wanted to sing but I was heavily criticized growing up. I always thought some people can sing, some people can not, and I was one of those people. I never sang, let alone around people. I was so bitter for people who could naturally sing, but I came across a video saying anyone can sing and decided to give it a go. Which, was a huge, difficult, terrifying thing for me. Annie is someone who will make you feel so comfortable. She truly is phenomenal at her craft. Even through the phone, she is able to read what blockages are happening in your mind, what your body is doing (or not doing), your thought process, and she understands the suppressed negative emotions people have about singing in front of someone and trying something new. Then after quickly picking up what is happening she decides what practices are best specifically for you, your body, your mind. She’s able to provide imagery that you can easily visualize that will allow you to naturally place your body in the correct position, so you can capture what it should feel like when you sing. She is so patient and sweet. Just having a teacher who is like that does wonders. After one session my voice already changed phenomenally for me personally, my personal progress. (Keep in mind it also depends on how much you put in to it. It doesn’t matter how great the teacher if you don’t put in effort.) Seriously though, if you always thought you couldn’t but somehow ended up finding her page, this is your sign, do it.

Annie is fun, and she's the best music coach I've worked with. As a kid, I was allowed, but not prompted, to do music. Without engagement and encouragement, I just let myself be "bad at singing" for 30 years. Now that my own child is interested in music, I've been looking into lessons for myself. Annie's voice lessons have been both engaging and encouraging in a way that has drawn me in. I look forward to them, and I take it from my daughter not asking me to PLEASE STOP singing in the car, that they are working!

Annie is a wonderful voice instructor. I'm a total novice and I learn something new about singing, sound, or the mechanics of the human voice during every minute of Annie's lessons. She gives me very helpful, constructive feedback keeps the lessons exciting. What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Think of learning vocal technique like building a house, and I am the contractor. We are going to lay a strong foundation and build the house with quality materials.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I’ve been training my voice for the last 20 years and continue to do so. Having gained so much experience, I teach my students the way I wish I had been taught from the very beginning. If you want to learn HOW to use your instrument in a healthy, sustainable, and more effortless way, that’s what I do. I hold a BFA in musical theatre as well have worked extensively on stage in New York.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
People often ask me if I teach after they hear me perform. So, I started teaching voice as a natural extension of my own singing career. If you are interested in singing musical theatre, I am especially well suited for you!
