Matt was very professional and a good communicator. He did some minor construction on our stairs and resealed our deck, and did a great job. We would definitely hire him again.
Loved the experience. I got my ultimate home that I wanted and dealing with Eli and his team was amazing. They were polite, easy to talk to and deal with, always kept me updated on the project, and sailed through inspections the first time. From beginning to end it was easy and smooth sailing and after hearing horror stories from my friends about different contractors, I was a bit scared to remodel my house. But when I met Eli, I knew that I was in good hands. And how right I was! I was comfortable leaving the key with them throughout the project so they can get in each day to work, whether I was there or not. Eli made sure to let me know when they would be working on the weekends so they can finish before the time said, so he can make my house, my dream home sooner then I expected! I am so so thrilled. Eli came shopping with me multiple times to pick out my finishing materials and helped me create and design a beautiful kitchen and my beautiful new bathrooms. He always made my husband and I feel like he had all the time in the world with us, and never pressured us to hurry up! I 1,000% recommend Eli and I cannot wait to have another project for him to work on! Thank you to Eli and everyone at GMBC Construction!
Conn rebuilt a Pergola (which is basically a massive trellis) underneath several hundred pounds of intertwined vines. The result is beautiful (see pictures below). Never in my homeowner life have I seen a complex construction project succeed all three dimensions: on time, on budget and high quality. Conn took our original idea and found ways to make it look even better. He came up with an accurate budget estimate within days. And then built it on time and without needing any oversight from me at all. He kept us apprised of progress on a daily basis. Everyone involved (my wife, painters, etc) was amazed that he kept our vines in tack and constructed such a beautiful Pergola so quickly. Conn was creative, efficient, honest and a joy to work with. I would recommend him over and over again.
Richard is prompt, fast, efficient and easy to work with. I've worked with him to remove a carpet and I plan on working with him on another project.
I hired Chris to refinish my deck, and was very pleased. He gave me a quite reasonable quote after assessing and discussing our desires. Though we had to wait for a weather window, we never got put on 'low priority' to him. Throughout the job, Chris checked with us regularly, and was very careful that we got exactly what we wanted. He was very prompt, courteous, and fastidious. He did the whole job by himself to make sure the quality was at the level he wanted, and we couldn't be happier. I would definitely recommend C M Stein Construction.
Regina and team were fantastic consultants on helping me figure out what I wanted/needed to do with a tile project in my bathroom. We ultimately decided to postpone the project, but their on-site consult and email communications were exceptional. I'll definitely hire them for the actual construction once we're ready.
We had Ryan over yesterday to repair 3 interior doors in a very old and actually historic San Franciscan Victorian house. In addition to the three interior doors, Ryan painted the front door which had also just been replaced. His attention to detail was great, there were constant adjustments to make sure everything fit, latched, matched, didn't drag, looked great, etc. His response was prompt, he replied almost immediately and was available to start the very next day. He came prepared for the job, from start to finish. Ryan is very up front and fair in terms of compensation. You will have zero issue with the transparency and fairness of his bids. It should also be noted that this is a very old building. The areas where the door hinges connected to the wall/door frame were extremely dilapidated, the wood was old and and over drilled. It was like putty. But Ryan rocked it. Not only did Ryan pay close attention to the style of the Victorian building and matched the details perfectly, his finished product was seamless. You can't even tell that work had been done. There wasn't even dust on the floor. It was legit, honest good work. 100% recommend.
We first met their team when a salesman cold-called us. It took us a while to make a decision about what we wanted to do, but once my wife and I decided to move forward, working with Shmuel and his team was excellent. I can't say enough good about them. The project involved removing a bathroom, adding a bathroom, removing and remodeling a kitchen, adding hardwood floors, adding a gas line, upgrading an electrical box, moving HVAC ducts, wiring and hanging a chandelier, tile for a fireplace and mantle, and painting. There were structural walls that needed to be modified. They promised to get the job done in six weeks, in time for an important family gathering we had planned. We were skeptical, but bet on them, and they came through. In any project of this size, there will be unforeseen issues that come up. In all of those cases, Shmuel was excellent to work with. Some examples are: - Once we saw the lighting in the new kitchen, we wanted an extra light over the sink. He tore-up some of his work and added it and charged us for the hardware only. - We wanted a cabinet added by our front door and another by our laundry room. He added it to the work without question, and charged only for the hardware. - We decided we wanted to replace the stair railing. He helped us find bids from railing experts, and charged us the bid without any contractor markup. The extra work disrupted his planned work schedule, but he worked around it to make sure we were still done on time. - The vent over the kitchen range appeared too low to us, even though it was within code. He replaced and installed the cabinet with something smaller. No charge. - With all the demolition, he accidentally lost our Nest thermostat. When this was realized, without any questions or me having to ask, he apologized and picked-up a new one, at his cost. Some other examples of the excellent service: - Shmuel and Shalhevet helped us pick paint colors and pick kitchen appliances and cabinet styles, traveling to a number of stores with us. My understanding is that most contractors would just tell you to pick something and leave you to figure out the details. - They allowed us to live in our home during construction. At the end of each day, they spent time blocking-off areas and moving equipment (as required by code) to make the site safe for our children. He could have easily just insisted we spend a month in a hotel. - All the little things. For example, we never discussed replacing the flooring HVAC vent covers; he bought beautiful new ones that matched the wood floors we chose. We never discussed replacing outlet faces, but he felt it wasn't right to repaint and leave the old worn outlet faces. They are highly recommended!
Peter’s work quality is excellent and the level of his personal and professional integrity is wonderful and hard to find these days. We initially hired him for what appeared to be a simple job, which then turned out to be a much more complicated project. Peter was honest and very helpful throughout the lengthy, stressful process for fixing a million unanticipated issues. He is a lovely person who cares about his clients and puts a lot of thought into his craft.
Job: replace cross beams under deck, replace foundational post that supports the garage, and fill gap in the corner of the roof to keep critters out. ER Construction came right away to do the job and provided the best solution economically. ER could stand for EXPRESS, RELIABLE! I would definitely call these guys to do more construction work in the future. Highly recommended.
We were amidst remodeling our master bedroom, bathroom, and vanity - a very big job indeed - that our previous contractor could not handle and left everything in shambles. This is when the I.C.R Construction team of "angels" came to our rescue. They not only completed the job on time, but did a super fantastic work, and always with a smile. It was a pleasure to work with Tom Rodarte and his fabulous team. I highly recommend I.C.R Construction.
Very professional great customer service and got the work done on time
We had a great experience working with Meir and his team. They are professional, in every aspect of the project. They updated us on the work schedule, and gave us personal attention and listened to our needs and provided solutions to problems we encountered in the old structure. Meir has a lot of experience in building and construction and can be a great partner to work with. We highly recommend him.
I hired CFI Construction to frame a new 501 sq ft building on our property to be used as a sewing studio. Today, they started and finished framing the walls, and enclosing the entire building with shear panels. Next week, when the trusses arrive, they are going to install them and install roof shearing. I learned of CFI two days ago on Thumbtack. Having observed their work today, I feel like the A team just fell out of the sky into my project. They are phenomenal in every respect. Their work, honesty, and work ethic are models for the construction industry. They have years of experience framing large projects, both residential and commercial. I was humbled that they chose to work on my project. They are not solely a framing company. They can build a building from start to finish, I just happened to hire them for framing. Having enjoyed today's experience, I'm going to use them for more phases of our project. Both the owner of the company (Steve) and one of his sons (Drew) were on site the entire day, as well as their crew of 5 framers. I wanted to write this review now, even though they still have trusses to install and the front porch to frame, because I want other users of Thumbtack to have the same benefit of a 1st class, licensed, professional construction company, as I did today. I strongly recommend that you seek out CFI Construction for your projects. They are the real deal. Thank you Steve and Drew.
Jacome Construction were prompt, courteous and took care of my job quickly. They explained what they were doing and even offered to look at another issue I was having. Excellent and highly recommend them for their knowledge and ability to get the job done.
Bella Home Builders created an awesome kitchen / family room. Excellent subcontractors & quality. The project has been admired by all of our friends & relatives. This also created a great setting for a small wedding at home.
Cesar is the best construction/handyman person I've ever worked with, by far. His workmanship is terrific and he's a dream to work with. Highly recommended.
Jomar was quick to respond and was very professional. He was honest in his assessment and did a great job.
Aldo is a very conscientious worker. He helped us build a new bathroom. He helped with the design and choosing the best materials, in addition to doing a really fantastic job with the construction. Aldo is also a very nice person and totally trustworthy. We highly recommend him for jobs both big and small!
Roy K. at Hauser Construction has done a number of renovation projects for me, covering all aspects of construction requirements, from plumbing, carpentry, electrical, heating and roofing. He is the consummate contractor and a great guy. Thank you Roy!
First: Dennis was present everyday work was done; if he wasn't present all day, he got the workers started and checked in several times, as well as at the end of the day. Second: Dennis and his workers were careful to clean up any mess every day. Third: Dennis presented blueprints of what he planned to do, and discussed them with us. Fourth: when we were unable to find fixtures, Dennis went out of his way to assist us. Be sure you know how much storage you want, and clearly communicate that. My husband and I didn't communicate with one another very well, and I was surprised at the end. I freaked out, but was able to have Dennis replace one cabinet with a larger one. The cabinet Dennis removed is great for storage in our garage. Final assessment: my kitchen is far more than I'd ever dreamed of having: the cabinets are easy to keep clean, the quartz counters/backsplash are marvelous to work on/clean. As with any construction project, things don't always proceed perfectly. We traveled out-of-state for funerals; and there were holidays during which we were happy to have work suspended. In other words: Life happens. I regard Dennis as a reliable, ethical, and skilled contractor. We have just asked to discuss remodeling our master bath with him.
