J&R Energy Construction Inc. would be an outstanding partner at every step.Let me tell you my story: After meeting with several large and small solar companies, I discovered that about 90% of them are simply middlemen who resell your project to installers while trying to upsell unnecessary equipment or services. Once I realized I could purchase the same system myself, apply for the city permit, and coordinate the PG&E interconnection, I saw I could save nearly 50% of the total cost. I just needed clear guidance and professional installers and even as an engineer, navigating the solar world can be confusing.Buying the equipment was easy, but finding licensed, reliable installers was the real challenge. Most well-known companies refused to work with materials purchased elsewhere and quoted 50200% higher prices for the same job. After weeks of searching, Teslas official installer list led me to J&R Energy Construction Inc.From the very first call, Joel (the owner and CEO) was professional, knowledgeable and said he could help. Despite being extremely busy near the end of the year, he offered to schedule my project over a weekend. I am often very suspicious of 5 star reviews as often what you read is not what you get. Working for the Government for many many years assessments of people and situations becomes second nature. Sasoon is that rare one where what you read is actually what you get. Initially I had two projects (upgraded lighting and a new security system) that needed attention. I was so pleased with Sasoon’s work that the two projects became four. And the price was lower then so many other electricians. How great is that! While he was finishing his work I was actually texting people to see if they needed a great electrician and that is not something I normally do. Richard is THE BEST electrician I've ever seen. He's extremely knowledgeable with what he does as well as electrical code. The most important part, he's very HONEST and patient. He really stands behind his work and we're 100% confident in all the electrical that he touches. I know that our house will be safe after his electrical work. When he came to work on our house, he ended up spending more time on our outlets than what was originally planned because of the poor work the previous owner did. I paid him an additional hour but I later felt that's probably not enough. Richard never asked for additional pay for his extra work. Quickly and efficiently diagnosed a tricky wiring problem. Fixed it for a fair price. Would 100% use again. For those who are curious - the GFI outlets in our bathroom had stopped working. First the electrician checked each outlet and then check the main panel. All were working as expected. Then he noticed a very old outdoor GFI outlet and took it apart to determine it had shorted out with all the rain we've been getting. Replaced it and (added a proper weather proof enclosure) which also fixed the other GFI outlets.

Had a great experience having Denis over to fix our lights. Our situation is presumably pretty complex because the first electrician that came couldn’t figure out how to fix it so suggested to replace the entire wiring system in our house. We refused and called in Denis. Denis came and right off the bat sounds more experienced and knowledgeable, he diagnosed the problem, fixed it and cleaned up nicely. The price is reasonable but we gave generous tips because it was lower than what the first guy quoted us without even figuring out what the problem is first lol.

My wife and I hired SM Electrical to replace two smart (wifi-enabled) light switches that were not supported by the manufacturer's app anymore. After contacting the company, Sasoon replied within minutes and asked for more details about the project. I sent him pictures of our setup (one switch was with 4 dimmers in a 5-gang box, and the other one with 3 dimmers in a 4-gang box) and gave me a very reasonable upfront cost (based on our experience with other electricians we hired in the past). He also said he could do the job 2 days later, which was a Sunday! Sasoon did show up that day and did a great job of replacing our switches. He was very polite and great to work with! Once done he waited patiently until I was able to pair the switches with my phone, and when putting everything back together actually made sure all the switches/dimmers were flush with the decorative plates, which wasn't the case before. He also vacuumed before leaving, where dust and debris had settled on the floor as he had to get all the switches and dimmers out of their respective boxes to complete the wiring work. And last but not least, the new switches work perfectly! We will definitely hire Sasoon again, we are very happy to have found a talented and trustworthy electrician offering reasonable prices.

Worst electrician. Please don’t go with this guy. I needed to replace the whole main panel. He came over, charged 600$ to just replace breakers and did not replace the electric panel as we needed permit. He asked me to schedule inspection and PGE to shutdown power and he would replace the panel later. After I co-ordinated with so many people and scheduled the work he did it show up. And doesn’t care to lift phone calls too. Both inspector and PGE guys were pissed off and we re-scheduled to later day. He promised to show up for sure this time. I pinged him on the previous day and he promised me again that he’s all set. In the morning he did not show up and doesn’t even bother to respond to my calls. I look like a fool in front of PGE team and inspector.

Customer service is very important to me - especially with remodel / upgrade work. While our home was built in 1976, it does come with its own quirks. Working with these unexpected finds requires good communication skills, creative solutions, along with finishing in a reasonable time and at an affordable cost. Chris embodies ALL OF THESE and more!! Our project consisted of adding overhead recessed lights to four bedrooms and our living room. Before the day of the install, we agreed on the project scope (22 cans), the type of product used (lights and switches) and cost. The day of the install, Chris arrived on time, double checked to ensure we were all on the same page and confirmed the price quoted was the price we’d be charged. Chris also reminded us he doesn’t do the patch work but had three skilled and trusted referrals. Again, staying true to what was originally discussed and scoped. He was patient with the lighting layout too - discussing the pros and cons of the different patterns. As we have a two story house, access to the electrical wires led to some unexpected issues with our install. While four of the five rooms went quickly, we had one that had some unexpected structural and access issues. Chris did his best to resolve the problem to our satisfaction with minimal holes. He clearly communicated the issue and worked with us to find a reasonable solution. Not only was his work excellent, he was very clean - leaving minimal drywall dust- and honored his price - even with the issues he encountered. I can see why he received 5 stars. He does the quality of work and is easy to work with, hence the well-deserved 5 star rating. He is now our preferred electrician! And, his drywall referral was excellent too!! Easy to communicate with. Competitive pricing. Honors his bid. Excellent workmanship. Reliable.
