Introduction: I am particularly patient with my students and am very concerned about vocal health. I want to insure the best possible sound that singers can get with the most intensity, while not hurting the voice in any way. I like to work with the whole person and develop their talent in a most postive way. I have always loved teaching and love the one-on-one relationships I develop with my students. I love music and helping to create the best sound possible for a song.

Monica was my first voice teacher, and I could not have chosen a better instructor. As an adult student, I was unsure of myself and I needed the patience of a teacher who would encourage and support me. Monica was very sensitive to my needs, and we became very good friends. Under Monica's guidance, I learned to enjoy my voice! She provided the foundation for my future work in singing. From a very shy singer with no confidence to a soloist and Church cantor---it all began with Monica's patience and hard work on my behalf. My only regret was that my work schedule would not allow me to continue with lessons from Monica, and it was quite a while before I found another voice teacher with whom I felt as comfortable. Monica îs an excellent voice teacher for all ages.

Ms. Mitchell has a gift for teaching voice and her repertoire is extensive. She was of great assistance to me in expanding my knowledge of musical genres. She easily identifies a student's challenges and has the ability to guide the student toward greater achievement of their vocal ability.

I had a fantastic experience working with Monica! I studied with her for about 4 years! She is an awesome teacher that really cares about her students and is very supportive. She would always come to all my performances and support me in whatever musical performances I had! I really learned a lot from her and my vocal range improved tremendously! She always challenged me with new music, but also was very good at picking music for me to work on that I would enjoy! Monica is a great vocal teacher for all vocal levels and she will work with you where you are at and help you reach your highest potential as a musician!

Monica is a Wonderful, awesome teacher. She is very knowledgeable, patient,encouraging and always looks out for her students best interest. She taught my son for 5+ years. He blossomed and grew wonderfully under her guidance. He received Honors all 5 years in Certificate of Merit testing. I would highly recommend her to any one who wants to learn to sing.

Monica is one of the best women that I have meet, both in music and in the real world. She cares for her students and always wishes for them to succeed. She has pushed my voice to a higher level then i would ever have been able to acheive on my own. She is always encouraging me to challenge myself and to try new things. I wouldn't be half the singer that I am today if it was for her.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a singer in a chorale and sing solos with orchestra. I also attend conventions, master classes as well as recitals and concerts to stay connected to vocal music.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I studied voice for many years before majoring in music in college. After getting my degree I had the opportunity to teach and fell in love with it. I have never stopped teahcing since I left college.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I help my students pick songs to study and to bring to auditions or simply for performing for friends. I help them with technique, then we look at music. It can be either in print, or on one's electrilc device.
