Seeing so many positive, if not effusive reviews from other customers, gave us the confidence to initially contact Traust Moving. From the request for quotation, contract, full-value insurance options, pick-up from Sacramento, transportation and final delivery to Washington state we were never disappointed! Quotation: We received a quotation literally within minutes after filling out a Thumbtack request for proposal! We had previously contacted two other moving companies and provided pictures and dimensions and other information, and it took over a week to get a bid from one, and the other never came through. The quote we did receive was almost twice as high as Traust’s and had incorrect pickup and destination addresses on it which didn’t exactly inspire confidence. Communications: Traust Moving’s communications were outstanding! Over the course of time, we’ve made contact via text, telephone and email. We had mixed feelings about our experience with Safe Moving. The crew was about 30 minutes late, but they did send a text message saying they would be late. I appreciated the notice, but would have preferred them being on time. We were supposed to have a three man crew, but only two showed up. Because of this they lowered the hourly rate. It was very good of them to lower the hourly rate, but I can't help but wonder if the full crew of three had been there if the move would have gone faster and more smoothly. The two men who were there were very nice - great personalities and easy to work with. With that being said, our fridge did not make the move unscathed and we now have two very noticeable dings in our fridge which is only three months old. Additionally, the washing machine was not set up properly in the new house which led to my husband having to do that himself and the one bed was not set up very well with the posts not being upright meaning my husband also had to fix that. I believe the crew being tired not having a third person led to these things not happening as they should have and ultimately would rather have paid the full hourly rate for three men if it meant our fridge not being damaged and things being set back up correctly at the new house.

They were on time, professional, called to confirm the day before, and packed up my entire 3 bedroom house in my 14 foot rented truck, which I frankly was not sure would be possible. They were strategic with placement of the furniture and boxes and were very efficient. They took care with my furniture and electronics and tied things down so they wouldn’t shift in transit. 10/10 would hire again.

WORST MOVE EXPERIENCE EVER! Had an agreement in writing and verbally with Benjamin Chavez. Confirmed everything FOUR times prior to the move, including the day before. Benjamin and Reuben (of Slow Movin Reuben Moving Co.) showed up 15 minutes late, didn't bother to call to tell me they were running late. Arrived with a 20 foot truck when the agreement was for a 26 foot truck, which clearly was not going to work. They did not introduce themselves or offer their business card when they finally arrived, nor did they offer any apologies. I also had to give them my new address location again. The only solution they offered was to strap my remaining belongings, including my new $2,500 mattress set, to the back of Reuben's pick up truck for a three hour haul to my new home! Looked like the Beverly Hill Billy's or Ma and Pa Kettle moving in to my new neighborhood. They offered no apologies, only excuses. Traffic was bad, U-Haul didn't give them the truck they ordered, etc. Once on the road, they had to stop because my belongings were falling off the pick up truck onto I-80! I explained the concept of professionalism to them and that when you have an agreement with a customer, it's reasonable for the customer to expect the agreement to be honored. They offered to reduce the time by one hour and cut the fuel bill by 1/2. I explained to them that it took them double the time to load the trucks because they had to figure out how to load a 20 foot truck with 26 feet worth of goods and that a 20 foot truck requires less fuel than a 26 foot truck so the fuel bill was less as well. Also, a 20 foot truck costs less to rent than a 26 foot truck. They felt that because all of my belongings arrived, I should be happy. I had to again explain the concept of professionalism and delivering on an agreement, which they did not do. And at that point, there was no way for me to know if all of my belongings did, in fact, make it or not. For all I knew there was a debris field of my belongings strewn along I-80 and I wouldn't know what was missing or damaged until I unpacked every box. Therefore, since they did not honor the original agreement and I did not get what I hired them for, I did not feel obligated to pay them as per the original agreement. I paid them more than I thought the experience was worth and sent them on their way, with all three of us unhappy about the experience. I hope they learn from the experience but I sincerely doubt they will.
