Phil has been providing guitar lessons for our son for four years. In that time, our son has grown as a musician and as a person. Phil instructs with patience and skill, and we are grateful for his contribution to our son's passion.

I took piano lessons from Tanya for many years, starting when I was 3, and I have known many of her students in the past. She is excellent with teaching young children and any student really excited about learning to play! 24 years later and I still play piano daily!

We are very happy with the piano lessons Genevieve provides to our 9 year old son and our 7 year old daughter. They enjoy learning from her and they're given lots of choices for what they want to play. She's also very flexible with rearranging lesson times if we have to miss. The recitals and sectionals have been fun and helpful too, and we are looking forward to the summer camp if it works with our schedule. :)

We moved from the UK to Colorado Springs last April and chose Sherrie for individual music lessons as she had very positive parental reviews on the website where she was advertising lessons. My son (8 yrs) and daughter (10 yrs) are making very good progress with their playing and their understanding of musical theory. Musical terminology in the US differs to that of the UK and Sherrie has taken the time to learn new British vocabulary in order to understand what the children know already and help them with acquire new US terminology more effectively. Less music theory is taught at this age in the UK and Sherrie is carefully and patiently bringing both children up to speed so they are on a par with their American peers. Sherrie has also had to become familiar with the requirements of the British ABRSM (Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music) practical music examinations as both children will be taking exams in piano and flute in April 2017. She has taken all this in her stride and I anticipate they will be fully prepared for their examinations. The children look forward to their lessons with Sherrie each week. She has a very warm and friendly manner and shows an interest in their lives beyond their music lessons. She makes her lessons fun and teaches with a good sense of humour. The children respond really well to this approach and are happy to do the necessary practice between lessons to show Sherrie progress. Sherrie starts each lesson with a review of the week before so that learning is revisited and consolidated. As well as improving their skill and understanding, Sherrie is also nurturing their musicality and often finds creative ways of bringing this out in their playing. The children also have the opportunity to develop their confidence in playing in front of others as Sherrie organises regular concerts for all her pupils and their parents. I have found Sherrie to be very amenable and as flexible as possible in response to last minute requests to changes in lesson times. She will always accommodate alternative arrangements if she can. I would happily recommend Sherrie as a music teacher, she relates very well to my children and I imagine she would work well with children of all ages.

When I started having lessons with Leandro Lacava, I had no clue how to sing. I had never really sung before, my voice was pretty tense, and basically I just pushed a lot. My lessons with Leandro were almost like vocal therapy; there was a solid foundation in terms of the muscles involved in singing, and I felt like I was learning to use my voice in the best possible way. He made my voice do things I never thought it could do! He used very practical exercises and a clear method to give my voice more body, help me stop forcing, and more than that, he made me believe that I actually could sing! And you don't have to be born knowing how; you really can build your voice! Today I divide my singing experience into Pre-Leandro Lacava and Post-Leandro Lacava; that's how big the change in my voice was! And not only that, he's just a great person!

Just starting my lessons with Zach, but so far he seems like a stand-up dude who is very patient and helpful. We are working on theory and technique and I can't wait to see where he takes me musically. Looking forward to continuing my lessons with him.

Dr. Feiss has been our piano teacher for over 4 years and we couldn't be happier with the results we have seen. Dr.Feiss has a great demeanor suitable for younger children, adolescents, and adults-anyone! Dr.Feiss is knowledgeable in not only piano lessons, but is involved in various associations that connect the students to several different musically centered activities throughout the year. There is an Acheivement Day where kids get to create music themed art projects and perform. Dr. Feiss is a member of the piano Guild Organization that gets your piano student audition for judges from around the country. Dr. Feiss is exceptionally professional and his involvement with nationwide organizations ensures that your piano student is a part of something much bigger than just piano lessons. Highly recommended Dr. Feiss as your piano instructor.

The people, the environment, & the level of talent are all crazy amazing! From day one everyone at silver sound has been so welcoming. Most if not all of them play almost every instrument known to man. Even the receptionist has a musical background!! They offer one on one sessions & they start at the students level no matter what level that maybe. I take vocal lessons and piano with one instructor and song writing & music production with another. These guys are crazy talented and extremely humble. Their first love is music and it naturally shows. I am able to be my self no matter how crazy it is and they all accept me. It’s like one big family, who are extremely professional, always on time and so very creative. I’ve been looking for a place that can accommodate my needs as a musician & I’m so happy that I’ve found silver sound. 😊

My 13 year old daughter has taken piano lessons from Drew Bartels for about 3 years now. I couldn't tear her away from Drew if I tried, although I'd never try. When we switched to lessons with Drew she was ready to give up on piano. She loves piano now, and plays beautifully. We credit her joy in learning piano, appreciation of music, and dramatic improvement to Drew's kind, intelligent and *fun* teaching style. He's great!

My 2 teenage sons took guitar lessons from Ronnie for 1 year. He did an awesome job! We were referred to him by a friend who has been taking lessons from him for years. Ronnie was a much better teacher than their previous teacher and for the same price. We were very pleased with Ronnie! My sons both said that they liked Ronnie as a guitar teacher, and that, "he really knew his stuff!" Ronnie chose good/fun songs for them to play and he challenged them to be better guitar players. As a parent I found Ronnie to be very personable, professional and educated. He is a true musician! Thank you Ronnie for all that you taught my sons!

Great piano teacher! She got our two kids started and they're still at it. Joanna has a real knack for working with little ones, motivating them with music they like and making the learning fun. But at the recitals we saw her older students shine -- she clearly has an ability to work with a variety of students at all ages.

Armour is incredibly skilled at helping you get to a place where you began to understand the how and why you show up in the world with your voice. It almost feels like psychotherapy sometimes, and I can feel myself growing into and unearthing a stronger more secure voice. She is most excellent for any level of singer, specifically if you are interested in learning classical technique (which is applicable, no matter what type of singer you wish to be). She is kind, approachable, and will let you know where you need to do extra work.

Our three daughters have taken lessons from Donna for the last 4 years, they started at the ages of 6, 8, and 10. Their progress has been fantastic! She not only gives great instruction but hosts several recitals a year, allowing them to play on a grand piano in front of an audience. This experience in front of an audience has greatly increased their self-confidence which has helped them not only in music but in school as well. In addition to recitals, they have played in non-competitive music festivals and will participate in a competition for the first time in March of 2017. Another important facet of Donna's instruction is music theory which is critical to their musical understanding and knowledge. Her specific expectations for each student differ according to their abilities, but she always expects practice and dedication and tailors her lessons to each student. My two oldest daughters have carried their love of music on to include learning Violin and Cello and are now participating in orchestras as part of the Colorado Springs Youth Symphony Association. Donna is a wonderful, loving, and caring teacher who has inspired my daughter's love and appreciation of music beyond what they hear on the radio.

About

I am very passionate about music and I greatly enjoy passing on the theory and methods of learning that I was taught when I first started. I try to make each lesson fun and challenging according to the students abilities. I also try to incorporate a healthy blend of ear training and music theory into each lesson so that the student is growing holistically as a musician.

About

I cannot speak for others, but my students are able to pass college entrance exams that pertain to music theory, ear training, and composition techniques after studying with me. All training and credentials aside, it is imperative that students be able to play with proper technique, have an understanding of how music is glued together, and be able to perform naturally without the need for charts and extensive thought during performance. My ultimate goal is for my students to compose and understand how and why others have composed in the fashion they have.
