- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to speak to each customer and find out exactly what their needs are. Ideally from that conversation, we will be able to make arrangements to accommodate them.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
"I have always loved dancing! So when the chance to have a dance company came along I was ready!" Founder Mary Elizabeth Lenahan began Dance Express in 1989. Because of her sister with Down syndrome, who always loved dance and music, Mary Elizabeth knew that dance was integral to everyone. Inspired by Theresa, Dance Express began! As an occupational therapist and dancer, starting a dance troupe for persons with disabilities was a natural mix. In 1989, six young adults formed the original dance troupe. Today, more than 100 persons with disabilities and hundreds without disabilities have contributed and shared their talents through Dance Express in northern Colorado. The dancers' joy in dance and love of performing are always inspirational. Watching each dancer grow in talent and ability to work as a member of a dance company is rewarding. Truly, when we all share our gifts, we create a beautiful world!
