Im very pleased with all the work done by lemar! He made sure my husband and I's reception was perfect for us! We hired him to do our wedding pictures and video as well. We had also revealed our pregnancy to the family and lemar was able to capture every perfect moment. We will be hiring him again when our baby shower comes around.

I am so happy to write a review for Jeff at Garrity Productions. I was married earlier this month and my sister gave us the gift of a videographer for our wedding much to our surprise and delight. We were so thrilled to have Jeff capture our wedding on video, he was professional, friendly, efficient and a joy to work with. The footage that he got was beautiful and more than we could have hoped for. He was able to capture so many moments on our special day that we wouldn't have been able to see if he wasn't there and now we have a record of the best day of our lives! I highly recommend Jeff and Garrity Productions for your wedding videography needs. You will not be disappointed!

We found Sebastian to be both talented at finding the artful shot and skilled with his camera even in the small space he had to work with. He documented our Denver wedding with gusto! We definitely feel like we got the right photographer for the evening. He was absolutely seamless and unobtrusive. There were no crazy flashes going off in our faces, yet he was really good at getting the right exposure. He was reliable and punctual. Given the chance, we would work with him again. Thanks, Sebastian!

Colin did an outstanding job on my concert footage. He also went the extra mile to see the venue beforehand, and was very accommodating with my editing requests throughout the entire project. On top of all that, we negotiated a very fair price. I would recommend Two Tigers Productions to anyone looking for a professional videography.

Luke and Anna from Grassy Road Studio were fatastic to work with for our wedding. They responded to inquiries quickly and worked with us to get what we wanted within our budget. During our event they were the picture of professionalism, a welcome friendly presence during a hectic day! They went above and beyond, even capturing drone footage of our venue as a surprise gift! They are a fun and creative team that I would be thrilled to work with again.

I have worked with Julie on many projects including my company website, interior design photo shoots and my wedding, engagement and family photos. She is the best!! her style is funky and fun and she really knows how to capture the moments that count. When I got back the pictures from my wedding I was so suprised that she really captured all the great moments and you could see the personality of all of the people coming out through the photos. I can not say enough great things about her work!!!

Lisa has always wow'd me with her talent from paintings to sketches to photography. My wedding pictures were outstanding and I loved the way she took the photos from a bird's eye view...very intimate and didn't seem staged at all. On another project, she blew me away by doing some charcoal sketches from lookng at a photograph; like pets who have passed or favorite memories of mine. I will need to ask her for one of my granddaughter next! They are beautiful pieces of art and I will always cherish them! I would highly recommend Lisa's work to anyone for any occasion. She can do anything!

Billy does amazing work and was a joy to work with. He worked extremely well with our photographers to capture the day, and I barely even noticed he was taking video throughout the day. We got our final videos back a few days ago and they are AMAZING. He really captured the feel of the day and was more than willing to make the little nit-picky adjustments I asked for. Overall, I was so impressed by his professionalism as well as the quality of his work, and would recommend him to anyone. If you're looking for something better than the usual cliche wedding videography, look no further than Oak Cask Media... you won't be disappointed!

I used Flippin Entertainment for a sales video at work. The team was very professional, creative and prompt. They helped my vision of a project come to life and I could not have asked for a better product to motivate my sales team. Dennis does a great job executing his videographer skills while the edits were better than I could have imagined. Most importantly they made the experience very fun, & made my team feel comfortable (especially since acting is not our day job!) Flippin Entertainment was very easy to work with and I would recommend them to anyone that is looking for a high quality video product.

All I can say about Thunderbird Drones is - Wow! The amount of professionalism and overall knowledge about drones that Jannah and Kirk provide, exceeded my expectations. I got married last month and chose an outdoor venue because my husband and l love traveling and nature, and decided that hiring Thunderbird Drones would be the perfect choice to capture a video of the whole venue. They finished our video in a very timely and efficient manner and their passion for what they do really shows. If you're looking for really friendly people who have a lot of expertise in drone photography/videography, or just drones in general, I really couldn't recommend Thunderbird Drones enough. AND their prices are very reasonable too for the quality of what you receive.

I had a wedding with about 250 people and ultralight dj'd for us, they were so kind and professional and they even set up special lights and a fog machine for us so the pictures look really cool! They got people who normally wouldn't to get up and dance which is so important at a reception otherwise it can be awkward. But they made it so much fun! I couldn't be happier!

We've hired Sean Korbitz, Concrescent Media Productions, several times for both videography and editing. He is a true pleasure to work with. We appreciate not only his excellent quality but his ability to connect with the subject and think on his feet. The outcomes have been very well received by our end client.

Ashley designed my save- the-dates and invitations for my wedding. I wanted something original, but I am not incredibly creative. Ashley was perfect for the job. Without much direction from me besides telling her my wedding colors and style, Ashley nailed the design. I was amazed! It was intricate and better than I could have imagined. She spent a lot of time and worked hard on this project for me. If you want a unique and personalized look to your invitations go to Ashley!

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

What is a videographer and what do they do?

A videographer professionally films weddings and other events and edits the footage to create film keepsakes or marketing materials for their clients. Wedding videographers record all the key elements of your wedding day, ceremony and reception, and then edit the hours of film during post-production to make a wedding video, social media highlight reels, and any other film features you choose. Wedding videography captures, in live action, your vows, the cake-cutting, the first dance, reception toasts, the decor, the guests and all the details of your day. Many wedding videographers also interview guests (based on an interview list provided by the couple) and incorporate the recorded responses into the wedding video. Event videography typically costs less than wedding videography, as events are shorter with less detail. The national average cost for event videography is $500-$760, while the national average cost for wedding videography is $990-$1,260. A videographer usually does not need to be licensed, but it is important to confirm they have insurance and good standing in the business community, as well as good client reviews. A great majority of the work happens during post-production. The pros watch and blend together the hours of footage they took (sometimes from multiple cameras) to capture the story of your wedding day or event.

How do you choose a wedding videographer?

A wedding videographer will create a lifetime memory for you from edited video footage of your wedding day, ceremony and reception. Choosing a wedding videographer starts with looking online at portfolios of their past work. There’s no need to talk to anyone unless you love what you see. Next, make sure they have good reviews and past client experience; don’t be shy about asking for references if there aren’t any posted online. When you find someone who has a style you love, ask if they are available on your wedding day. If so, it’s time to talk pricing. Be clear about your maximum budget, and ask what kind of packages they offer. Pricing will depend on the number of crew needed for filming, the hours they are required to be onsite, post-production editing, and the length of the final product. Talk with several wedding videographers to get a feel for what prices are like in your region. Nationally, the average cost for wedding videography ranges between $990 and $1,260 per event. Once you agree on a product and have a plan, get everything in a written and signed contract. Clearly state the details of what is expected for your wedding day and from the final product. Be prepared to pay a deposit to reserve their services for the day, then pay the remainder upon receiving the video.

What should you ask your wedding videographer before hiring?

Finding the perfect wedding videographer doesn’t have to be stressful. Asking a few key questions upfront will help you find the right fit for your big day. Before talking with wedding videographers, research their work online. Look at their websites, business profiles and social media, and see what their finished wedding videos look like. If the style fits what you’re envisioning, it’s time to reach out. During initial contact, make sure you get along with the person. This is important since they’ll be interacting with you and your guests.

Your first question should be about their availability; there’s no point in going further if they’re booked on your wedding day. Ask to see references if they’re not readily available online. Next, it’s time to talk about money. Ask how they determine rates or what kind of packages they offer. When you settle on a rate and the services you want, make sure to have a written contract that outlines everything, including cost, length of time they film, what post-production will include, and when you can expect to receive the edited project.

When do you pay your wedding videographer and wedding photographer?

Most wedding videographers and photographers require a set deposit when you hire them. Wedding season is a busy time and a deposit secures that vendor’s services for your wedding date. It also protects the vendor if the couple changes their mind at the last minute, and they can’t find a new booking and lose work for the day. The deposit may be anywhere from 20 percent to  50 percent of the agreed-upon total price. Always get a written confirmation that your deposit has been received.

The remainder of the wedding videography and photography bill may be due in the week before to your wedding or on the day of the wedding. Other vendors may require a second payment immediately before the wedding and a third and final payment after the wedding video or photos are delivered. Each vendor has their own policies, so before hiring be sure to read, understand and agree to payment protocols. There is no requirement for tipping wedding videographers or photographers, but if you do want to tip them, the end of the reception is the appropriate time.

How much is videography for a wedding?

Wedding videography is one thing many couples regret not paying for. It may seem like just another expense during wedding planning, but it’s really special to have a moving memory of your big day. The national average cost for wedding videography is $990-$1,260. Pricing can vary depending on wedding length, special film features, the amount of editing required, and how many videographers are needed to cover the event. Many videographers offer packages that provide different levels of service. A very simple wedding documentary could be $600 or more, while a full-scale cinematic experience involving multiple videographers could be $2,500 or more. Here’s an example of average package pricing:

  • Package 1: $1,400
    • Footage during and after the ceremony, including highlights requested by the couple.
    • Two cameras with audio equipment.
    • DVD including a 3- or 4-minute edit to a song of the couple’s choice and a 45- to 50-minute raw edit covering the entire event.
    • Recordings of guests’ good wishes to the couple.
  • Package 2: $1,800
    • Includes everything from Package 1, plus an additional videographer (2 total) and aerial videography.
