Introduction: Inspired by an innate sense of style, and a former career in marketing, public relations, and event management, "DIY With Me" is a small, boutique-style decorating and design consulting business that evolved over 30 years of 'doing' creative projects for friends and family.
I also currently work part-time with the RH Gallery in Greenwich, CT (Restoration Hardware) -- getting the newest ideas and inspiration from what is perhaps the most innovative luxury retail furniture company in the news today.
My style preference is sophisticated and classic but eclectic - a combination of traditional and trending decor with cool, unexpected touches pooled from YOUR personal preferences. I'm polished, well spoken, an out-of- the-box thinker, and really interested in how YOU think! Whether your project involves a bigger-than-life mega mansion, or an intimate cottage for two, I'm all about knowing how to shop and get the "best bang for the buck". Combined with a promise that's not influenced simply by trend, I will advise you, counsel you, shop with you, and help you create a design solution that's respectful of YOUR needs, YOUR vision, YOUR expectations, and YOUR dreams.

As executor of my brother's estate I hired Kathryn Kavicky to stage his house for sale in a very difficult market and economy. The house was at a great disadvantage in comparison to other homes in the area. She did a great job and was able to highlight the home's great features--yet making it cozy and desirable. I also hired Kathryn to help me get our antique colonial decorated in advance of several large Christmas gatherings last year. She has an eye for flowers, draperies, table settings and general ambiance - and she did a wonderful job. I would certainly hire her to stage my own house if and when we decide to sell. Kudos to a multi-talented lady (and she's very nice to work with; organized and budget-conscious).

Kathryn helped me with my sister's wedding. A second marriage the bride was on an extremely tight budget. She had very specific ideas when it came to her flowers particularly as it pertain to her table arrangements. She insisted on artificial and wanted to keep them low. Kathryn not only had the design and color scheme within hours but she also presented ideas for the bouquet and head table all within budget! The bride loved her Ideas and the finish product was more than I could have hoped for! Kathryn really listened to what I wanted. She was easy to work with and I would not hesitate to recommend her to all my friends!
