Melinda W. says, "When we got the wacky [by some people's standards ;-) ] idea to have a mural painted on our garage wall -- as in an interior wall -- we thought it would be a challenge to find an artist to tackle the creative job. I did some research, fell in love with Kristine's other work, and knew -- without a shadow of a doubt -- that she was the one to take on our job request. When we explained our vision -- a Northern Wisconsin Woodlands scene featuring some of the Dairy State's iconic denizen, both fauna and flora -- Kristine was on board. We were thrilled!
First of all, Kristine was incredibly easy to work with. Her can-do, positive attitude also made her a pleasure to work with. To have her in our home for what turned out to be about a 10-day project (it was pretty massive) was a joy.
Second, Kristine's attention to detail in her creations is absolutely incredible. The animals look like they can jump right off the wall and frolic in our garage. We chuckle at the badgers, in particular. They look so friendly peeking over the log -- belying how ferocious those critters actually are!
Third, Kristine made sure her job site was cleaned up and neat before she left at the end of each day (because of the scope of this project, she put in some pretty long days, usually working about 10 hours; most of the time, we didn't even know she was here -- she was that quiet!). I know it might sound silly because it was 'just the garage', after all, but we appreciated that immensely.
Quite frankly, our Northern Wisconsin Woodlands scene turned out better than we imagined. Kristine brought a beautiful part of the state (and country!) to life for us -- right here in our garage! I like to set up a chair, facing that east wall, and just look at our original artwork. We may have had the vision, but it was Kristine who made it a reality. We cannot thank her enough.
