I chose Sabrina to copyedit my manuscript partly because her projected cost was near the low end of the four bids I considered, but mainly because her sample edit of several pages left the others in the dust. Her subsequent work on the full manuscript far exceeded my prior experiences with copy editors in both depth of attention and conformity to my own style. In addition, the basic jobs of grammar, spelling, usage and formatting according to the Chicago Manual were perfect, and in a manuscript featuring various levels of bulleted lists and quotations. At the end, Sabrina charged me less than her bid, explaining that computer problems had accounted for some of the time she spent. This would have been a ridiculously low charge for the work she did, so I paid her more. Now that the book is going to print, I appreciate even more the exceptional quality of Sabrina's work.

Amenah has been an indispensable component of some of my best work throughout my bachelor and masters degrees. Even if the subject matter is obscure, she is able to quickly understand the point I was trying to get across and help me find the most strategic, well-organized pathway to get my point across to the reader. Importantly, she takes into consideration the audience you are writing for (whether academic, journalistic, grant agencies, etc.), helping you tailor the form and delivery of your writing. Amenah is not only a skilled grammatical editor. She is able to work with my style of writing, not against it, making me a better writer with each project she assists on. Her personable nature and common sense way of talking me through even the most complex subject matter helps me organize my thoughts and arguments, making any writing task seem far less daunting. I would HIGHLY recommend working with Amenah.

Angie's enthusiasm for the first book in my Welltower series inspired me to push forward and publish it. Her enthusiasm, attention to detail and positive guidance gave me the spark to finish three more volumes in the series and to develop more. As with any good editor, their positive reception is due in large part to her work.

About

For over 12 years, I have been providing freelance Editing, Copy Editing, Content Editing, Writing, Ghost Writing, and Proofreading services, as well enough Graphic Arts to put together business cards, brochures, and – one of my specialties – newsletters. Here's what clients love about me as a Copy Editor: 1) I can work with all types of writers, from experienced and polished to writers who can't organize a thought to those with little concept of English grammar and word usage – including ESL authors. 2) I can shape anything into a very conversational writing style so anything so anyone can understand it, regardless of how complex or dry the material is. 3) I learn quickly enough to work just as effectively with topics I do not yet know anything about. 4) And perhaps most importantly, I am easy to work with, accessible, approachable, dependable, and deliver quality work on or before the promise date.

About

Well, there are several reasons: 1) Technically, I know various writing styles real well (AP, GPO, Chicago, APA). 2) Through my years of journalism and other writing experience, I've developed a knack for clear, accurate, succinct expression and finding just the right words for a certain thought. 3) I was trained in Biochemistry in college. This developed my strong analytical ability, which helps me produce clear, logical, and error-free copy. 4) I write poetry, so I bring an aesthetic sensibility to the written word, helping me produce writing that's tasteful, sensitive, and moving. 5) I have a broad general knowledge, in everything from world history to science, art to gastronomy, which strengthens my fact-checking and editing in many ways.
