I have been taking lessons from Sam for about two months now. I am an adult who is coming to vocal training with little experience in singing other than some high school chorus and performances. And I am so glad I did! Sam was immediately welcoming, encouraging, and warm. He is clearly a wonderful person and it shows right away. But maybe more importantly, he is an extremely talented singer, performer and instructor. I really wanted an experienced and sophisticated teacher who will not just encourage me but teach me, push me, and help me to advance and become an accomplished performer. Sam has a great reputation and teaches many advanced, even famous singers but he is also great for beginners. He teaches you not just singing technique but how to develop as a musician both technically and emotionally. Before starting with Sam, I took a few lessons with others who start you off the bat with sheet music and just singing. That doesn't work in my view. Singing is difficult (more difficult than I expected actually) and to progress you have to understand theory, rhythm, timing and phrasing. Sam starts you with these kinds of lessons so that when you start singing you understand the music itself, not just technique. In short, you won't find a better teacher or person than Sam so if you are interested in progressing either as a beginner or an experienced singer, please check him out. You won't be disappointed.

I am both shocked(!) and incredibly happy with how my voice has improved since I started voice lessons with Barbara just a matter of months ago. Tone, range, everything. She is truly an amazing teacher and a lovely person. And as a bonus, you will never have as much fun at a music lesson as you will with Barbara! Very, very highly recommended!

Voice lessons with Rachel Leanza have been a great pleasure. She is awesome at working out a schedule for lessons and making sure you're comfortable during them. You get what you give in effort, but she is always there to help and answer any questions. When you do start to experience progress in your voice, Rachel is just as enthusiastic as you are, which makes the lessons quite fun. If you're looking to learn about singing and enjoy yourself while doing it, then these lessons are definitely worth it.

I have been seeing Juliett for about a year now and can truly say with unwavering certainty she has changed my life. I came to her a somewhat shy vocalist who hadn't really sang in 10 years with zero piano skills whatsoever and within three months I had a Youtube channel where I was playing and singing covers simultaneously and within 7 months I performed my first paid gig! I know for a fact without hesitation I would not have been able to do either of those things without Juliette. She has been paramount in my progress as a vocalist, performer and pianist and I would not be pursuing music at the level I am if I hadn't met her. She's not only taught and encouraged me at a musical level but at a personal one as well which has led to my developing confidence as a performer and as a person. The level of interest she took in me at a musical and personal level is a rare and unique quality in a teacher and I would truly not be the same without her!

A very positive experience. Jenni really knows her stuff: I was amazed by her ability to observe in what specific ways I need to change what I was doing and within a few lessons I noticed a great improvement.

About

Ms. Alexandra, has helped me tremendously to improve my voice skills. Most of my singing experience came from school or church choir where I always sang the Alto – lower note – parts. My goal for taking voice lessons is to improve the high notes. Ms. Alexandra’s teachings has worked my voice to reach notes that I previously had difficulty and sounded soft or raspy (over-strain). Her voice exercises have corrected the posture of my mouth, interior and exterior, and relaxed the muscles surrounding the voice in order to open-up the voice for clarity and volume. Every voice lesson with her has been a stepping stone to reaching my goal. I can see the troubled areas have improved and become easier to reach. I have even seen my lower-notes sounding clearer, better, rounder, and colorful. Ms. Alexandra identified my strengths, for example, the lower-notes and coloratura. She then expanded on those strengths by taking them further, working that area to sound even better and also to keep me motivated to reach my other goal because if I had only practiced on my goal, I would eventually ended-up believing I was not good enough to reach those high notes; In order for me to reach those notes, I had to be confident, relaxed, and not have my mind preoccupied on reaching that goal. Ms. Alexandra knew this already and kept the lessons varied and interesting. Through her teachings I have come to understand how my voice functions, and identify the shape of my mouth in order to identify different levels of sound. She is very patient and understanding and has great ability expand on your current knowledge, and nurture a beginning singer, like me.

He caters to all styles of music instruction, including opera, operetta, oratorio, music theater, musicals, Broadway, cabaret, sacred, contemporary, and preparations for auditions for The Voice and American Idol. Marjorie Lawrence is the only soprano in history to actually ride her horse Grane into the "flames" at the end of Gotterdammerung onstage at the Metropolitan Opera as Wagner wrote. The life story of Marjorie Lawrence was made into the Academy Award winning movie, Interrupted Melody. Marjorie Lawrence wrote the introduction to the book, Dynamic Singing: A New Approach To Free Voice Production. Singers learn techniques to increase the size, range, quality and carrying power of their singing voice. James McCully specializes in repertory development, audition techniques, performance power, stage presence, and studio recording. Singers receive rave reviews from the critics and contracts with AGMA and AEA Houses, such as Washington National Opera, Baltimore Opera, Virginia Opera, Wolf Trap Opera, Washington Concert Opera, Arena Stage, Shakespeare Theatre, Signature Theatre, Studio Theatre, and more, as well as, with the National Cathedral, National Shrine, international and national tours. Singers performed in concert at the Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center, in the 650-seat proscenium stage Kay Theatre, which creates the atmosphere of an old Broadway House with the amenities of a state-of-the-art performance space, in June 2012. Singers performed in concert outdoors under the stars on a 21st century stone circle landmark. The 40ft Star Disc Celestial Amphitheatre was designed to inspire, engage, educate and entertain, in summer solstice 2012. James McCully studied in New York City with Metropolitan Opera tenor Jerry Hadley's teacher, and Metropolitan Opera and Paris Opera soprano Marjorie Lawrence. As an adjudicator, James McCully judged the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions with the Paris Opera artistic director Bernard LeFort, the winner now Metropolitan Opera soprano Jan Grissom; and the National Opera Competition with the Metropolitan Opera tenor George Shirley, the winner now Metropolitan Opera dramatic mezzo-soprano Dana Beth Miller. For over a decade, James McCully served as the National Endowment for the Arts onsite evaluator of professional opera and musical theater companies and their emerging artists programs across the nation, as well a, on the voice faculties of the Catholic University of America and the National Conservatory. James McCully's students have performed for presidents and Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II, at The White House. I've really enjoyed working with Mark. I had a lot of opera experience as a teenager and I wanted to dabble in it again as an adult. He has been a wonderful technical teacher with a lot of unique exercises to help you understand the strengths and weaknesses of your voice. He has a GREAT collection of music and is happy to let you sing the things you enjoy.

I signed up for voice lessons with Narda having no prior experience as a singer other than going to karaoke with friends or singing in the car when I'm by myself. I have since taken many lessons with her and have found that she's a demanding but patient teacher who genuinely wants to make you better. She wants her students to have goals and if you're new to singing like I was, she'll help you set goals and then work with you to achieve them. Narda clearly loves to sing and loves teaching others how to sing. No matter what your age or skill level, I'm positive that she can help you get the most out of your voice.
