We loved William. We hired him on relatively short notice and he was very flexible and easy to work with. His prices are incredible - both for New York and for the quality of work he offers. He shoots with Canon L-series lenses, which are (arguably) the best lenses you can buy, and he also brought along backup equipment - the mark of a true professional. He is also a member of the Wedding Photojournalist Association, which is an important accreditation to look for.
We had an incredibly difficult time finding a photographer whose final product was high quality and not just cheesy, posed wedding photos with weird editing. Neither of us particularly enjoy having photos of us taken, but he made us feel at ease and everything seemed very natural. In the ceremony (which was tiny - only 12 people) we didn't even notice him. We haven't yet received all of the final photos (which should be around 700 photos in total), but by the next day he had almost 50 photos already finished for us to view online.
We were not extremely organized coming in and that's something we should have better prepared for as the onus was on us to come up with locations for photos as well as different family groupings/wedding party, etc. That is completely fair and to be expected of a photojournalist-style photographer, just a heads up that while some photographers will make recommendations and suggestions, this is something you would need to take care of.
Overall, we really just can't say enough good things.
