We just had June 2015 wedding and what a wonderful job Pro Click Photo has done! I was shocked over 2000 photos were on our DVD and that we're all nice. Much better than the weddings I have been in. We received the photos in our mail box they were there when we got Back from our honeymoon. I loved the shots of me and John together. So many too choose from. They really showed we love each other. Beautiful!!! We also got the video package. Really great we had a drone fly over the ceremony. That really made the video. We saw and heard the whole day. We were surprised all that was going on great. These guys were great Cal and Art did a fantastic job. Highly recommend. Karen Thomas

We are a wedding photo and video company and have hired J&J several times for wedding drone coverage. They are extremely responsive and attentive to our needs. They have extensive knowledge of drone laws and were able to secure permission to fly from the appropriate air traffic control towers when necessary. Truly went above and beyond in terms of service on the day of the wedding, getting all the footage we asked for - and then some! Always delivers files immediately. They work hard and have a extremely good communication with clients. Definitely recommend then, and will continue using them in the future!

Working with Gary was excellent. First, he was really responsive to my needs. I was traveling in from out of state and needed a quality corporate videographer with extremely short notice. Gary accommodated me and made everything easy. He arrived ahead of schedule on the day of the shoot and was friendly, professional and courteous. He made it easy for the company to continue operations as if he wasn't even there. And best of all, the quality of the final product is excellent. I would highly recommend Gary to anyone needing reliable, affordable and highest quality professional video services.

When my daughter announced she was engaged, among the many things I needed was a Videographer. Since I work in a large corporate travel company, I went to our marketing department who recommended Digital Video Artistry since they use their services for promotional videos for the company. I spoke with Don Check, their Director to go over different options and ideas. He displayed both professionalism and creativity. I was very pleased with the wedding video clips I was shown and surprised to learn that they even attend the rehearsal. When I received the finished product, I was overwhelmed! I could not believe how much detail and intimacy were captured. Both my daughter and her new husband were in tears as they watched the video for the first time. The video had a way of making that special day come alive once more to everyone. To say my expectations were met would be a gross understatement. Digital Video Artistry worked their talent and magic. The end result in their work was both amazing and awesome. I would highly recommend Digital Video Artistry to anyone who wants personal attention, unique images and unforgettable memories for a lifetime.

Look no further! If you are looking for video services for your wedding or any other event. Platinum Photo Video is incredible (and very affordable!). As a Wedding Officiant, I have the opportunity to work with a lot of wedding professionals in the Tri-State area and the quality and professionalism of Platinum Photo Video is first class all the way. The finished product is amazing; quick turnaround in receiving your video after the event and they are extremely professional when they are working. I was so impressed by their expertise as a colleague in the industry. The feedback I receive from couples about the outstanding quality of their work is why I will continue to rave and promote them!

Working with Angela of Acquainted Wedding Productions was one of the *best* decisions we made while planning our wedding. We chose the package for a highlight video. She was a complete joy to work with from our initial conversation to the last email with the finished video, and was very flexible, professional and punctual throughout the entire process. She made it very easy to contact her when we had questions and delivered the final video faster than we ever expected - all while incorporating our ideas and feedback into the final product. Her vision and style are spot on and she and her assistant captured some of the most beautiful shots of our wedding - we especially love all the little moments they caught that we weren't even aware of at the time. They also caught all the sweetest moments of our vows and the speeches that we are so happy to be able to relive forever. We were even on the fence about having a videographer at all in the beginning stages of wedding planning, but we are so glad we did! The value and her quality of work are top notch. We 100% recommend Acquainted Wedding Productions to any couple looking for a wedding videographer, or even anyone looking to film any special occasion - you will end up with a beautiful video that you'll treasure forever.

It can be scary picking photographers and videographer for your big day because you want everything to turn out perfectly; you know that these are the memories you'll have to look back from your wedding day for the rest of your life. I can honestly say I am so incredibly happy I found Joe and chose him to be my videographer. Joe was awesome! His communication was great, he brought great gear with him to make sure he captured different angles and styles. He seriously did a fantastic job and made a spectacular wedding video for my husband and me. Everything was so beautifully captured! I love re-watching the video from the day. The footage came out great and the quality of the video is super professional. He also gave us all the raw footage too! Which I'm super grateful for because some of those smaller moments of that day are the ones that will fade over time so to have that footage to look back on as well is really sentimental. You can't go wrong with him. I'd rehire him again if I had to do it all over again!

John Morgera recently assisted us with a corporate video shoot and franchisee interview at a car-repair shop and he did a tremendous job. Based on my experience, he is a talented videographer who sets very high standards for himself, hits his deadlines, routinely goes above and beyond what is required and is wonderful to work with. The work he turned in was impressive and his fee was competitive. He's also a really nice guy. I would hire him again in a heartbeat.

Anthony was so fantastic to work with! I had requested a video that was a combination of photos, video, and music. Anthony was incredibly responsive to my requests, was perfectly on-time with our timeline, and he made sure that the finished product was perfectly in line with what I was asking for. Even the most minute detail or change I asked for he understood and executed. The final video turned out better than I could have imagined, and those that I shared it with loved it! Thank you again, Anthony!

David Garrett Photography and Video worked with my upstate New York non-profit community development organization on our annual fundraiser and produced some great video clips for us to use for media, funders and corporate volunteer engagement. David Garrett worked within our budget constraints and was extremely professional and friendly, especially with our many and varied resident and neighborhood participants. We could tell we were in very good and knowledgeable hands and would highly recommend David and crew for any project!

I'm a marketing manager for a diagnostics company, and we hired Faithful Dog for a short-notice shoot at a veterinary practice which had witched from one of our competitor's products to one of ours. Jeff's crew got exactly the kind of footage we asked for, and did so in a professional, timely manner. Video was clean and stylistically right on the money, and was produced with a minimum footprint on location. Jeff himself was very responsive and helpful. I would certainly hire them in the future for additional projects!

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

What is a videographer and what do they do?

A videographer professionally films weddings and other events and edits the footage to create film keepsakes or marketing materials for their clients. Wedding videographers record all the key elements of your wedding day, ceremony and reception, and then edit the hours of film during post-production to make a wedding video, social media highlight reels, and any other film features you choose. Wedding videography captures, in live action, your vows, the cake-cutting, the first dance, reception toasts, the decor, the guests and all the details of your day. Many wedding videographers also interview guests (based on an interview list provided by the couple) and incorporate the recorded responses into the wedding video. Event videography typically costs less than wedding videography, as events are shorter with less detail. The national average cost for event videography is $500-$760, while the national average cost for wedding videography is $990-$1,260. A videographer usually does not need to be licensed, but it is important to confirm they have insurance and good standing in the business community, as well as good client reviews. A great majority of the work happens during post-production. The pros watch and blend together the hours of footage they took (sometimes from multiple cameras) to capture the story of your wedding day or event.

How do you choose a wedding videographer?

A wedding videographer will create a lifetime memory for you from edited video footage of your wedding day, ceremony and reception. Choosing a wedding videographer starts with looking online at portfolios of their past work. There’s no need to talk to anyone unless you love what you see. Next, make sure they have good reviews and past client experience; don’t be shy about asking for references if there aren’t any posted online. When you find someone who has a style you love, ask if they are available on your wedding day. If so, it’s time to talk pricing. Be clear about your maximum budget, and ask what kind of packages they offer. Pricing will depend on the number of crew needed for filming, the hours they are required to be onsite, post-production editing, and the length of the final product. Talk with several wedding videographers to get a feel for what prices are like in your region. Nationally, the average cost for wedding videography ranges between $990 and $1,260 per event. Once you agree on a product and have a plan, get everything in a written and signed contract. Clearly state the details of what is expected for your wedding day and from the final product. Be prepared to pay a deposit to reserve their services for the day, then pay the remainder upon receiving the video.

What should you ask your wedding videographer before hiring?

Finding the perfect wedding videographer doesn’t have to be stressful. Asking a few key questions upfront will help you find the right fit for your big day. Before talking with wedding videographers, research their work online. Look at their websites, business profiles and social media, and see what their finished wedding videos look like. If the style fits what you’re envisioning, it’s time to reach out. During initial contact, make sure you get along with the person. This is important since they’ll be interacting with you and your guests.

Your first question should be about their availability; there’s no point in going further if they’re booked on your wedding day. Ask to see references if they’re not readily available online. Next, it’s time to talk about money. Ask how they determine rates or what kind of packages they offer. When you settle on a rate and the services you want, make sure to have a written contract that outlines everything, including cost, length of time they film, what post-production will include, and when you can expect to receive the edited project.

When do you pay your wedding videographer and wedding photographer?

Most wedding videographers and photographers require a set deposit when you hire them. Wedding season is a busy time and a deposit secures that vendor’s services for your wedding date. It also protects the vendor if the couple changes their mind at the last minute, and they can’t find a new booking and lose work for the day. The deposit may be anywhere from 20 percent to  50 percent of the agreed-upon total price. Always get a written confirmation that your deposit has been received.

The remainder of the wedding videography and photography bill may be due in the week before to your wedding or on the day of the wedding. Other vendors may require a second payment immediately before the wedding and a third and final payment after the wedding video or photos are delivered. Each vendor has their own policies, so before hiring be sure to read, understand and agree to payment protocols. There is no requirement for tipping wedding videographers or photographers, but if you do want to tip them, the end of the reception is the appropriate time.

How much is videography for a wedding?

Wedding videography is one thing many couples regret not paying for. It may seem like just another expense during wedding planning, but it’s really special to have a moving memory of your big day. The national average cost for wedding videography is $990-$1,260. Pricing can vary depending on wedding length, special film features, the amount of editing required, and how many videographers are needed to cover the event. Many videographers offer packages that provide different levels of service. A very simple wedding documentary could be $600 or more, while a full-scale cinematic experience involving multiple videographers could be $2,500 or more. Here’s an example of average package pricing:

  • Package 1: $1,400
    • Footage during and after the ceremony, including highlights requested by the couple.
    • Two cameras with audio equipment.
    • DVD including a 3- or 4-minute edit to a song of the couple’s choice and a 45- to 50-minute raw edit covering the entire event.
    • Recordings of guests’ good wishes to the couple.
  • Package 2: $1,800
    • Includes everything from Package 1, plus an additional videographer (2 total) and aerial videography.
Hire skilled professionals for absolutely everything.
