All I had to do was take one look at the incredible transformation that Craig Marks' client, Craig Moody achieved training with him and I was a believer. You will not find a better or more dedicated trainer than Craig Marks. You hear about all the hype with Orange Theory, crossfit and some of these outdoor bootcamps but at the end of the day that's all they are. When you choose to train with Craig Marks, you've chosen the best of the best. I've worked with trainers all over the United States and some of the "celebrity trainers" you see on TV. Guess what. Craig Marks is by far the best I've ever had the pleasure to work with. In South Florida, my modeling agency now only refers their clients to Craig. That speaks volumes. "Craig Marks, you are my angel of Fitness and I love you. Thanks for all you've done for me and all your other clients.

All I have to say is THANK YOU to Cedrick! I didn't even know or believe it was possible for me to actually be in such amazing physical shape. Not only has my body changed, Ced taught and encouraged me to live a more Active, Balanced, and Fit Life. During our consultation I told him exactly what my body goals were and Within a short amount of weeks everyone (including myself) could recognize a change in my appearance. I was smaller (lost fat) in target areas and Gained muscle in others. My energy and motivation levels are now higher than ever. I'm lifting weights, running distances, and feeling like I didn't even know I could! I was truly a skeptic but it is obvious that Mr. Miles clearly knows what he is talking about... Though he will KICK your BUTT during his BootCamps! Lol

After only 6 month of training with Ian at Operation TTT, I have seen a dramatic change in my body. I have gained muscle definition and strength I never had before. Ian and the rest of the team are extremely supportive and motivate you throughout your fitness journey! I have participated with other trainers, bootcamps, and gyms but never had the success I have achieved while attending Operation TTT. I would recommend this bootcamp to anyone and everyone 100%.

I am a mother of three, and have a full time job. I workout 5 days a week and that is my sanity. I was recommended to Tedy at Raw Energy Fitness in 2014 by a friend/ co-worker. I wasn't seeing results with my current trainer, and wanted to shed off 10 pounds. Well 3 years later, I have gotten so much more than that. I can not even just call her my trainer, she has become so much more. She is a trainer, therapist, life coach, nutritionist, motivator, and most of all, an amazing friend. I lost 20 pounds, but gained so much more. I have reached goals in my life that have nothing to do with fitness. I have learned to cope with my emotions, juggle the daily responsibilities, stand up for myself, and anything life has thrown at me. I have come out of it ten times better. I don't know how she does it, but with countless trainers, group classes, and bootcamps through the years I have never had a trainer like Tedy. She stands apart by giving her clients the dedication and commitment like no other. Even my 3 kids have learned that if they have a question, the first thing they say is Ask Tedy. That was the best referral I have ever gotten. She changed my life.

Started coming here recently & I'm very happy. Kamil, our trainer, is very knowledgable about proper form & great work outs to not only keep you motivated but keep your body guessing & that way you are guaranteed to loose fat & gain muscle. In other words, get fit, lean & quick (as long as you also maintain a proper diet. In others words, don't run out to Shake Shack after). It's nice to be outside in the park & they provide you with all the equipment from kettle balls, to jump ropes, even a set up of dumb bells. He changes it up every work out. What I appreciate the most about our trainer is that he is a certified paramedic so if you are ever in any physical trouble, he can spot it right away & help you out. For example, my first session, that day I ate very little carbs & we had an extremely intense but great leg work out (I was sore for several days after). Kamil was able to sense that I was not feeling well & I mentioned I was dizzy. He asked me my symptoms & immediately told me what to do to recover right away. He explained why it happened & how to avoid it. There are 2 sessions to choose from. 1 sessions starts at 6:30-7:30pm then another from 8-9pm. There's talk about another session starting at 5:30. The classes are also from Monday-Thursday so if you come all 4 days, you have 3 days to recover. (Again avoid those burger & fries during your exercise free days. No point in working so hard to loose weight to ruin it over the weekend.) Kamil also stays connected with you via text & on rainy days he informs you where to meet. I was also happy to be able to pay him using pay pal since its easier for me that way. You won't be disappointed coming here. Every one is very nice & of all levels. From really amazing in shape bad ass girls & a few guys to your beginner like me. Your first session is free so give it a try. You won't be disappointed.

Tyler is a great personal trainer! I trained with him for 7 months and went from 198 lbs to 164 lbs. Tyler was by my side every step of the way. He helped adapt each personal training session to what he thought was the best for me. He did not just give me the same workout plan as everyone else. He was always there to push me when I didn't want to finish my workout and set up my weekly workout plans along with a meal plan to help me with my diet. Tyler was very enthusiastic during each session and made me enjoy being at the gym when I didn't want to go some days. If I ever had any questions I could call or text him and he would get back to me very quickly. It was nice to have someone who knew what he was doing and loved what he was doing. I would refer him to anyone that wants a personal trainer that is very involved and cares about your personal goals.

I was coming off a patella tendon tear and was told I needed rehab. I opted to LivFit with Ali and I couldn't ask for better results. In just a few months I am back on my feet and moving like I was before the injury. I continue to see Ali and get stronger every time and now Ali has started doing bi-weekly bootcamps which are great for all fitness levels. So happy with my decision

About

One on one or group personal training based on lifestyle change. What is different about my service is that it is a life changing long term benefits . It is not a 60 day challenge or a "get fit summer program" it is a lifetime investment with guaranteed results and benefits.

About

My name is Kierra Johnson, and I have been working in the fitness industry since 2010. I have experience working with many different types of people, each working is towards their own personal goals. I have seen many trainers who are judgmental and aggressive and have been using intimidation to push clients, which explains why most women prefer to work with a female personal trainer. Although, I have met some pretty aggressive women. In my opinion, the best personal trainer is one who is not only educated but is also respectful and considerate of your unique situation. Which is why my training philosophy is client-centered. It's not about how many reps or how many calories; its about what makes you feel the best and what helps to build a better you. I want to see you accomplish more than you can on your own. It is difficult to find the time and motivation, so I will push you to accomplish your goals.

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

What should you wear to kickboxing?

What you wear to kickboxing can vary based on the setting. For kickboxing group fitness classes that are part of a gym’s cardio class schedule, standard fitness attire is appropriate. Athletic sneakers, pants or shorts that you can comfortably kick in without getting tangled or flashing anyone, and a top that allows for easy movement when punching and jabbing are all good choices. You won’t need protective gear or gloves, as most cardio-based kickboxing classes do not use punching bags.

Kickboxing training that takes place at a martial arts studio typically requires protective gear. You may need boxing gloves (beginners may want 12-ounce or heavier gloves for more cushioning) and hand wraps that protect and support your hands under the gloves while you punch the bag. If your kickboxing training includes sparring with opponents, you’ll need a mouthguard and any protective head and body gear your studio requires. Always be sure to bring plenty of water, too.

What is a boot camp class?

Fitness boot camps are a heart-pounding way to boost your fitness level. Boot camps are led by a fitness instructor and are based on the concept of military boot camps — intensive workout programs to get new recruits into shape, quickly. Fitness boot camps encourage camaraderie, and the group momentum helps participants get through fast-paced intervals of cardio, isometric training, strength training and endurance drills. Classes may range anywhere from 30 to 60 minutes, and usually meet multiple days per week. Boot camps often run a specific duration of time, say four to six weeks, which creates a team-like environment for class members. Other boot camps run year-round and students purchase package pricing for classes, similar to subscriptions that allow them a set amount of classes per week or per month.

Boot camps can be held indoors at a gym, outdoors in a park or on a beach, in a backyard — anywhere there’s room for running, jumping and sweating. Some instructors also provide DVD and online boot camps. You can also find boot camps tailored to your heart’s desire, such as bikini boot camp, or boot camps for new mothers. Boot camps offer an intense workout and are usually led by energetic instructors pushing you to do your best, but unlike military boot camp drill sergeants, fitness boot camp instructors typically don’t use intimidation or punishment to spur you on. Check with your doctor before starting a boot camp if you have health concerns, and always let your instructor know ahead of time if you have injuries.

Is kickboxing hard?

Kickboxing is as intense a workout as you want it to be. As with any fitness regimen, the more effort you put in, the more results you will get. The type of kickboxing you do will determine how physically challenging it is. Combat or self-defense kickboxing, where you train in a martial arts studio with sandbags or spar against combat partners, can be an intense physical workout. Group kickboxing classes that use sandbags as part of the workout will also elevate the degree of intensity, because of the level of exertion punching and kicking the bag requires. Cardio kickboxing group fitness, which employ kicking and punching moves but no sandbags, has comparable intensity to jogging but works a wider range of muscles while increasing strength, flexibility and coordination. Here are some of the core kickboxing moves:

  • Cross: A straight punch that you throw slightly across your body, using your dominant hand.
  • Jab: A quick, straight, face punch. Usually thrown with the non-dominant hand.
  • Uppercut: A punch thrown up from the midsection (using either hand) that connects with the underside of your opponent’s chin.
  • Hook: A curved punch (using either hand) that connects with your competitor’s jaw or chin.
  • Side kick: A kick delivered when your competitor is at an angle to you. Raise your leg to the side, then bend at the knee to deliver the kick.
  • Front kick: A kick delivered straight on while you are facing your opponent.
  • Roundhouse kick: A kick delivered by swinging a leg up in a clockwise or counterclockwise motion (depending on which leg you’re using) with momentum to strike the opponent with the instep of the foot.

What do you need for kickboxing?

What you need to bring to kickboxing depends on where you are working out and what your goals are. For a gym or fitness club’s cardio-based group kickboxing class that does not use punching bags, you generally need only appropriate workout gear and enough water. For kickboxers who are training in a martial arts studio, working one-on-one with a trainer toward a specific goal or sparring with competitors, you will need your own boxing gloves (12- to 16-ounce gloves provide more protection for beginners) and hand wraps (to protect and support your hands under the gloves, as well as keep them dry). If your lessons are in a martial arts studio, you may not be permitted to wear shoes, so bring clean socks if you don’t like to go barefoot. If your training includes sparring, you may be required to wear a mouthguard and/or protective headgear. Whether you’re in a group fitness class or hardcore training session, bring a sweat towel for your comfort and the comfort of people around you.

How much is a boot camp?

The cost of fitness boot camps depends on how often you go, the package you are purchasing (or if you are paying a drop-in fee), the location of the bootcamp, the equipment the instructors provide, and the background and reputation of the instructor. Smaller towns and areas with a lower cost of living typically have lower rates for boot camp services than big cities and regions with a higher cost of living. If you’re paying per class on a drop-in basis, expect to pay anywhere from $12 to $25 or more, depending on the region and the instructor. When you purchase a package of classes, typically the more you buy at one time, the cheaper each class is. The same boot camp class might be $20 for a drop-in student, $15 for a student who pays for 10 classes per month, and $10 for a student who pays for 30 classes a month. Studio space can also affect costs, so if your boot camp takes place in a high-end gym with top-of-the-line equipment, the prices will likely be higher than a class that meets in an outdoor space with limited or no equipment. Shop around to find the right type of boot camp class and the right instructor for you.
